The next morning, the Alpha King's convoy prepared for their journey back to the royal estate in the northern Capital City.
"How are you feeling?" Mage Rona asked as Ayesha helped Lyra get ready to leave.
"I'm feeling well. Thank you for taking care of me," Ayesha replied sincerely.
Rona gave a short nod, then said in a more serious tone, "Let me know right away if you feel anything strange or unusual."
Ayesha's brows furrowed. "What do you mean?"
"I just want to be sure the poison is fully purged from your system," Rona explained with a faint smile. "I'll be checking on you from time to time, just to be safe."
"That's very kind of you. Thank you," Ayesha said with a polite smile but something in Rona's expression made her pause. The mage looked tired… uneasy, even. Like she was holding something back. Her smile didn't fully reach her eyes, but she quickly brushed it off. 'Maybe I'm overthinking,' Ayesha pondered.
