Chapter 681 - KWM Chapter 677: Hound of Fulgrim

Leonard had originally thought Pallez would skip or perfunctorily answer his question, but to his surprise, the other party actually told him the 'Error' Pathway's ritual for becoming a god.

After a brief moment of astonishment, he asked with some confusion, "Taking over someone else's ritual for becoming a god? It sounds strange and evil, and how is that simple?"

Pallez chuckled, his tone a mix of resignation and schadenfreude as he said, "It doesn't require launching a war that sweeps the entire world, nor does it require challenging a true god with a non-divine body, nor does it require fooling time or destiny. It only requires waiting for someone who is about to ascend to godhood to appear. Isn't that simple?"

"In a sense, this kind of ritual, which only requires waiting for a suitable opportunity, is the simplest, but sometimes also the most difficult, because it's too uncontrollable."

"Look at that little Zaratul from the Secret Order. He spent hundreds of years preparing just to advance to Sequence 1. After finally succeeding, he was easily sealed by Evernight. After breaking free from the influence, he is now being used by Evernight as a tool to restrict Amon."

"Without becoming a Sequence 0 True God, even a Sequence 1 Angel can often only become a chess piece for the gods, helplessly played with and schemed against."

As Pallez talked about these matters, he spoke more than usual. While Leonard sighed inwardly, he pressed with a question, "Aren't you always avoiding Amon? How do you know so much?"

Pallez snorted coldly, his tone neither flat nor agitated as he said, "With my knowledge and experience, as long as I grasp some key information, it's very easy to make connections and deductions."

"Have you forgotten so quickly the 'Cryptologist' Sequence that the little guy from the Jacob Family mentioned? Restoring the true facts from clues and foreseeing the development of events is a basic quality for every High-Sequence 'Marauder'."

After two seconds of silence, Pallez suddenly sighed, "Sometimes, even I have to marvel at Evernight's wisdom and courage. Even when she found it inconvenient to descend and interfere with the current situation, she still dared to make so many arrangements and attract so many people to Backlund."

"I wonder how many arrangements and schemes the 'Mother of Concealment' has made in secret, and how many hidden agreements she has reached with how many existences."

"What do you mean? What do you mean by 'inconvenient to interfere with reality'?" Leonard asked, both confused and eager.

Pallez's tone suddenly became quite leisurely as he said, "You should pray to your goddess or the 'Fool' for answers, rather than asking a lonely and helpless old man like me."

After a pause, he added, "However, this might not be a bad thing for your goddess."

Deep within the Spirit World, where one could vaguely approach the flowing gray-white mist, several figures silently outlined themselves.

Klein's gaze swept around, then fell upon the gray-white mist ahead. His intuition told him that these mists were the same as those above the Gray Fog; they were the same kind of thing. What exactly were these mists?

"You'll know the answer once you advance to 'Scholar of Yore'."

Leyton muttered softly beside Klein. Meeting Klein's questioning gaze, he chuckled, "I can easily guess the thoughts that will appear in your mind. This is an instinct that arises after advancing to 'Sage'. When you possess a vast amount of knowledge and information, you can't help but build models in your mind for the people and events you understand, deducing all sorts of possible developments."

"You can understand it as: after advancing to 'Sage', a Beyonder of this Pathway becomes a high-precision, high-strength human computer, constantly calculating and deducing various information and knowledge."

Klein nodded, not continuing the topic. He moved his body a short distance forward, getting closer to the quietly flowing gray-white mist. He took out an iron-black square metal box from his coat pocket, removed the Wall of Spirituality on it, and opened it.

Some auras carrying a sense of Concealment and strangeness emanated from it.

Soon, the quietly flowing gray mist in front began to stir. A canine creature, covered in short, dark fur, with dark red flames burning in its eye sockets and a mouth that extended all the way to the back of its head, emerged from it.

Its body gave off an unreal, ethereal sensation, yet it also seemed to be a tangibly existing entity, appearing extremely incongruous.

Azik looked at the creature emerging from the gray mist and said in a very calm tone, "It is the Hound of Fulgrim. Even in the Fourth Epoch, when the gods walked the earth, they rarely appeared in human sight. Even if they did, few Beyonders, except those of certain special Sequences, could successfully capture them."

Under the gaze of Leyton and the others, this Hound of Fulgrim approached without any apparent caution.

It circled Klein a few times, sniffed him, then glanced at the Transformed Heart of the Demonic Wolf of Fog placed in the open metal box, and then simply turned and left.

It left? I haven't even made a trade request yet... Klein looked at the Hound of Fulgrim's disappearing figure in the gray mist with a head full of question marks.

He turned back to Leyton behind him, as if saying, "You didn't say that before!"

After about half a minute, the quietly flowing gray mist changed again. Two Hounds of Fulgrim ran out from the gray mist, each missing an eye that burned with dark red flames.

It understood my needs without me even saying anything. This is too thoughtful, isn't it? If only all creatures of this Pathway were so sensible.

After sighing inwardly, Klein took the eyes handed over by the two Mist Wolves, then handed out the Transformed Heart of the Demonic Wolf of Fog from the iron box, saying at the same time, "This is the reward, but there is only one. You can distribute it freely and decide who becomes the Sequence 3 'Scholar of Yore'."

The two one-eyed Hounds of Fulgrim exchanged glances, and a human-like excitement appeared in their dark red flaming eyes. They circled Klein twice in a fawning manner, nudged his coat with their heads, and even licked his hand.

Aside from their appearance, they really resembled the puppies I used to raise. Klein sighed inwardly, then handed the Transformed Heart of the Demonic Wolf of Fog to one of the Hounds of Fulgrim, waved his hand at them, signaling that they could leave.

The two Hounds of Fulgrim, each missing an eye, quickly rushed back into the gray mist with the Transformed Heart of the Demonic Wolf of Fog.

After their figures completely disappeared, Klein hesitantly said, "Will they fight over that Transformed Heart of the Demonic Wolf of Fog, or will they conflict with other Hounds of Fulgrim?"

Leyton pondered and said, "Normally, they would, but they have your aura on them, so the other Hounds of Fulgrim will most likely tacitly accept this."

Klein nodded, no longer having questions. He placed the pair of eyes contributed by the Hound of Fulgrim into the iron box and put them away, sighing with considerable relief, "My 'Bizzaro Sorcerer' Beyonder potion is only a little short, and then I can begin preparing to advance to Sequence 3."

Leyton smiled and said, "You can find someone who is very familiar with Amon and has a very bad relationship with him or her. Put on a monocle in front of him or her. Of course, don't actually put it on, or you'll really become Amon."

I feel like you're implying Pallez Zoroast. If you really dare to tease Old Man on Leonard's body like that, my marionette will definitely be gone. Klein rolled his eyes inwardly. If it weren't for Mr. Azik being nearby, he would have loudly complained.

Backlund. After obtaining the Hound of Fulgrim's eyes, Klein returned to this metropolis. He didn't return to his residence immediately, but instead went to where Leonard was living.

Looking up at the hazy sky, he exhaled a long breath and whispered to the air beside him, "Give me some secret information, and also, if Pallez really gets angry, help me block him."

"Heh, I thought you would steadfastly refuse. Poor Old Man, always being targeted and persecuted."

Leyton's voice echoed in the surroundings out of thin air. He didn't come to Backlund in his true body, but rather separated a portion of his own information through a secret technique, forming a temporary avatar that attached itself to Klein, providing necessary protection according to his request.

This was a request Klein made temporarily after learning that Pallez had obtained a 'Trojan Horse of Destiny' Characteristic and his state had stabilized at Sequence 2.
