Chapter 631 - KWM Chapter 627 Medici

The Cathedral District, named for housing the Church of the God of Steam and Machinery's main cathedral in Trier, is guarded by Bornova Gustav, who is an Angel.

On the Mechanical Square in front of the Patriarchal Cathedral, there are various types of mechanical existences; some are placed in situ, some move along tracks laid on the ground, and some rotate propellers, hovering in mid-air.

Compared to a church and a square, the intuitive feeling here is more like a technology museum; almost all visible mechanical creations on the market have samples here.

People flowed back and forth around, but no one noticed Leyton, who stood quietly in the center of the square; everyone tacitly ignored him, but whenever they were about to pass through the area he was in, those people would subconsciously move aside a bit to avoid collision.

Relying on "Psychological Invisibility..." Leyton entered the church's prayer hall without any obstruction and sat on a bench in the corner, just letting the people in front of him block the triangular holy emblem at the very front, which was composed of solid triangles and symbols like Steam, gears, and levers.

In his eyes, deep blue, almost purple, radiance slowly floated, outlining one symbol after another.

In this state, the things in his line of sight changed rapidly, revealing information structures that were difficult to see under normal circumstances; complex and chaotic information floated around, constantly interacting with the environment.

To his surprise, the information related to this church had an extra layer of bronze light, neither brilliant nor clear, which seemed thin but gave an extremely heavy feeling, just enough to block Leyton's gaze.

"They are indeed prepared against the abilities of a Mystery Pryer. I can see through this barrier, but the commotion caused will inevitably alert the bishop in this church, and it might even draw out Bornova, who is staying in the church."

As thoughts floated, Leyton gave up the idea of directly observing this church. He calmly looked around, then stepped out of the church.

After moving away from the Patriarchal Cathedral, Leyton's body quickly etherealized, breaking down into streams of information that surged towards the north bank of the Srenzo River.

In the Square District, in a hotel named Golden Sunshine near the botanical garden, complex and pure knowledge penetrated the walls and flowed into a room on the third floor of the hotel, quickly reassembling Leyton's body.

As soon as his figure appeared, Leonard was suddenly transferred by Pallez from the adjacent room.

Leonard was stunned for a moment, then lowered his head and said in a deep voice:

"Old man, next time, can you tell me before you do something like that? What if I was in the restroom?"

"I'm not blind..." Pallez replied impatiently, then asked Leyton:

"What information did you collect at the Church of the God of Steam and Machinery?"

Leyton shook his head, sat down on a comfortable armchair nearby, and responded in a flat tone:

"I didn't collect anything. That church has pre-arranged defenses to prevent a Mystery Pryer from directly reading information after reaching a high Sequence."

"Just wait a day or two. I've left Peeping Eyes around and on some believers. I can obtain information from inside the church through roundabout means."

"Coincidentally, during this time, I can go find Medici and have Him cause some commotion in Trier."

"Are you sure Medici will listen to you? What good is that for Him?" Leonard looked suspiciously at Leyton, who was half-reclining in the armchair.

Leyton chuckled softly and said:

"He has no reason to refuse. If He wants to get the things underground, He must cause a commotion. Besides, the fact that I can find Him means I can act on my own and then shift everyone's attention to Him, achieving the same goal."

"Underground?" Pallez pondered for a moment.

Leonard noticed the change in Pallez's tone and asked somewhat puzzled:

"Old man, what's underground here?"

Pallez sighed softly, his voice tinged with nostalgic emotion:

"Buried beneath Trier are the remnants of the Pale Disaster. Although the Seven Gods achieved victory back then, many intractable historical issues arose, and the underground of Trier is one of them."

"That place is perpetually shrouded in corruption. That kind of corruption isn't strong for ordinary people and low-Sequence Beyonders, but it's deadly for Beyonders who have reached high Sequences. The higher the Sequence, the more severe the impact."

"Old man, did you also experience the Pale Disaster?"

Leonard exclaimed. Every time they discussed historical topics, Pallez's knowledge always astonished him, creating a sense of temporal discontinuity.

Pallez spoke without much fluctuation in his tone:

"No, I was busy avoiding Amon's pursuit at the time, so I don't know much about the Pale Disaster unleashed by the Death on the Southern Continent in conjunction with the Primordial Demoness."

Seeing Pallez and Leonard's conversation drift further and further, Leyton shook his head, his body instantly etherealizing and breaking down into streams of information, darting into the Spirit World.

Relying on his understanding of the Conqueror characteristic that Medici had accommodated, Leyton performed a simple "prophecy" in the Spirit World.

A moment later, the complex and pure knowledge surging around reassembled Leyton's body. The profound silver-white in his eyes quickly faded, returning to its original light blue.

"As expected, it won't work."

Sighing softly, Leyton took a deep breath and directly chanted Medici's honorific name:

"Great God of War, Symbol of Iron and Blood, Master of Turmoil and Strife."

As he chanted the honorific name, he followed the established mystical connection and sensed Medici's presence. This connection only existed for a moment before the other party directly cut it off.

"A Conspirer wouldn't be so unprepared. Is this an invitation?"

Muttering to himself, Leyton once again transformed into an information flow creature and rushed towards Medici's location, which he had grasped for that brief moment.

On the south bank of the Srenzo River, west of the Observatory District, where the main entrance to the underground catacombs is hidden, in a hot spring hotel.

Streams of complex and pure knowledge surged out of the void, quickly moving through the various rooms of the hotel, then surging away towards the tree-lined avenue on the opposite bank of the Srenzo River.

The waiters and travelers remaining in the hot spring hotel were still busy with their respective tasks, completely unaware of the recent changes.

In the leftmost room of the hotel, a young woman with distinct Intis features leaned back in the indoor hot spring, eyes closed in meditation. On a nearby table, the flame of a burning candle suddenly flickered, constantly leaping upwards like a crimson portal. Medici's figure stepped out from the flames.

A mouth on his left cheek, with illusory fangs and a scarlet tongue, opened to mock:

"Foolish Medici, do you still think you are the Red Angel of the past? You've been out for so long and haven't adjusted your honorific name, almost letting someone find us by automatic response."

"Foolish!" The mouth on Medici's right cheek also mocked.

"Heh, how do you two idiots know I didn't do it on purpose?"

Medici chuckled indifferently, his right hand touching the cracked mouth on his face, seemingly wanting to tear it off, but finding no place to start.

Einhorn's consciousness on Medici's left cheek spat, scoffing disdainfully:

"We've been together for thousands of years. Can't I tell if you're doing it on purpose?"

While Medici, Sauron, and Einhorn were conversing, the surrounding light suddenly dimmed. One pale blue star after another descended from mid-air, enveloping the entire hotel room in a misty starlight.

The next second, the lady leaning against the edge of the indoor hot spring, who had been meditating with her eyes closed, suddenly opened them. Her crimson eyes emitted a pure and clear radiance, reflecting a brilliant galaxy, appearing exceptionally cold and sacred.

The sudden change made the mouths on both of Medici's cheeks close simultaneously, no longer speaking.

"You two cowards, you should be Demonesses lying in bed, not Hunters running around outside."

Medici mocked Sauron and Einhorn, then looked down at the female Hunter lying in the hot spring, whose aura had already changed, and chuckled:

"When did a Mystery Pryer's Eyes of Mystery Prying gain the ability to manipulate others from a distance? And to possess a beautiful lady at that? Do you also have some special hobbies?"

The woman, whose eyes twinkled with pure starlight, gazed blankly ahead, her voice somewhat ethereal, speaking like a dream:

"I merely left some corruption on this Miss Hunter you chose. As for you, giving a lady a Hunter potion, when did you develop a hobby like cheek's? It truly makes one worry about the future of the Hunter Pathway."

Medici still maintained a faint smile on his face, a smile closer to mockery, and said with emotion:

"It's a pity you didn't become a Hunter. Your last sentence successfully provoked Sauron and Einhorn."

"Only Sauron, that idiot. This level of provocation has no effect on me..." Einhorn's consciousness on Medici's left cheek added.

Sauron's consciousness roared with some exasperation:

"Shut up! It's my direct descendant who was polluted by him. This concerns whether our subsequent plan can proceed smoothly."

Medici calmly looked at Sauron's direct descendant sitting in the hot spring and said without much fluctuation in his tone:

"You heard it too, this lady is crucial to our subsequent plan. Since she was accidentally polluted by you, shouldn't you make some compensation?"

The Sauron Family descendant in the hot spring once again uttered dream-like words:

"Of course, I have a way to make you resistant to the underground corruption, allowing you to enter it smoothly and retrieve your characteristic from that out-of-control Conqueror."

"What way? Actively approach the corruption there and become part of it?" Medici asked with some mockery.

The almost dream-like voice sounded again: "Magnify certain qualities within you."
