Leyton stopped condensing the golden flame spear, and the blue-white luminescence in his eyes gradually dissipated.
The bright, brilliant, and pure holy light that enveloped the surroundings, along with the golden illusory flames emanating a powerful Sun aura, all vanished, leaving only the dense Sun aura and the ground that had been scorched, covered in dry, cracked mud.
Sharron put away the bronze-colored Door again, then approached the charred corpse of Steve, her gaze lingering for a moment as she said in a flat, serious tone:
"He's already dead."
Leyton looked at the charred corpse in front of him, which still occasionally sparked with faint golden flames, and shrugged, saying:
"Easier than I thought."
"The power of the Sun domain is very restrictive to Beyonders of the Mutant Pathway. The Sun domain spells you used are already close to a Sequence 5 Priest of Light."
Sharron swept her gaze over the charred corpse, which still had a dense Sun aura lingering around it. She felt that even if she tried to accelerate the extraction of the Beyonder characteristic by possessing the corpse as a Wraith, she would be burned by the residual Sun aura.
Sharron bypassed Steve's charred corpse, her illusory, flickering body moving to the side of Zombie Jason's corpse, where her transparent, illusory body merged into Jason's corpse.
The faint green luminescence that had already begun to precipitate quickly attracted and aggregated, and then more light spots were extracted.
In less than two minutes, a Beyonder characteristic, a ghastly green and eerie blue, shaped like a crumpled piece of rag, was extracted.
Sharron held up her black court dress, which was stained with mud and dirt, and her illusory figure emerged from Jason's corpse. She quickly moved to the side of Werewolf Tyr's corpse, repeating the previous operation.
In less than two minutes, the Beyonder characteristic from Werewolf Tyr's body was completely extracted and quickly condensed around his right hand as its core.
After absorbing all the Beyonder characteristics, Werewolf Tyr's right hand naturally detached from his arm. After a series of twists and transformations, a pale glove with bladed claws appeared, entwined with dark green, distorted patterns.
Sharron's figure reappeared, then came before Steve's charred corpse, silently glancing at Leyton, who stood quietly to the side.
Leyton instantly understood and nodded slightly. Then, he raised his right hand, and a slowly rotating ball of stardust rapidly formed in his palm.
One Star after another emerged. As Leyton made a sweeping motion, rays of brilliant light sprinkled onto Steve's charred corpse.
The starlight quickly dissolved and dissipated, and along with it, the strong Sun aura on the charred corpse also vanished.
Sharron said nothing, only gave a slight nod, then possessed Steve's charred corpse to accelerate the extraction of the Wraith Beyonder characteristic.
Crack! Amidst the unreal sound of glass shattering, the starlight barrier covering the surrounding open space shattered into specks of starlight, then disappeared bit by bit.
Leyton casually flicked his hand, and specks of starlight surged and then dissipated. Leyton summoned an invisible giant hand.
Under Leyton's control, the invisible giant hand picked up two spoils of war from beside Werewolf Tyr's corpse: a glass bottle with a built-in lid, and a Mystical Item formed by the combination of the Werewolf Beyonder characteristic and Tyr's right hand.
Leyton kept the glass bottle with the built-in lid, while the Mystical Item formed from the Werewolf Beyonder characteristic was handed to Klein.
He carefully examined the biological toxin bottle in his hand. Specks of starlight surged, enveloped it, and then transformed into a transparent amber, sealing the biological toxin bottle.
After completing all of this, Leyton finally raised his head and explained to Klein:
"This Mystical Item is useful to me. Can I convert it into the corresponding gold pounds for you?"
"No problem." Klein nodded lightly.
He glanced at the biological toxin bottle in Leyton's hand, then his gaze returned to the glove in his own hand, which could be considered a weapon.
Klein cautiously pulled out a piece of paper and wrapped the glove, isolating himself from direct contact with the glove before he could figure out its effects.
Maric quietly swept his gaze around, saying nothing. He picked up the Beyonder characteristic extracted from Zombie Jason, which was closer to him, then threw it to Klein, his tone clearly relaxed and joyful:
"This is also your spoils of war."
"Okay." Klein took the Zombie Beyonder characteristic and nodded in acknowledgment to Maric.
After taking the Zombie Beyonder characteristic, Klein immediately put it into his prepared small iron box and created a layer of Wall of Spirituality to isolate it from the outside world.
The few of them remained silent, quietly waiting for Sharron to accelerate the extraction of the Wraith Beyonder characteristic from Steve's body.
The three stood on different sides, glancing at each other, then quickly withdrew their gazes.
When Leyton's gaze swept over Maric, he noticed that all the previous injuries on his body had almost healed. What were clearly bone-deep wounds before now only left shallow bloodstains.
After waiting for a short while, Sharron's figure reappeared. In her hands, she held the Scarlet Lunar Corona and a translucent puppet.
Sharron slightly shook her hand, and the translucent puppet in her hand flew towards Leyton.
Reaching out to catch the translucent puppet, Leyton held it in his hand and examined it. Then, he took out a small iron box from his pocket, placed the puppet inside, and added a layer of Wall of Spirituality to the outside of the iron box.
Having given the promised Wraith Beyonder characteristic, Sharron looked around and then exchanged glances with Maric.
Then, she placed the Scarlet Lunar Corona from her other hand onto her chest. The circle of crimson jewels on the Scarlet Lunar Corona quickly dimmed, and the full moon's radiance over this abandoned clearing gradually faded.
Klein and Maric also dispersed at this point, dealing with the arrangements they had made on site earlier.
By the side of the warehouse, Klein bent down, pinching the ring with his fingertips, and lifted the azik copper whistle buried underground, surrounded by human-shaped "candles."
After a while, the scene was cleaned up, and the few of them gathered again in the center of the open space.
Sharron faced Klein, her voice calm as she said:
"The Book of Secrets is in the guest room of your house."
Klein smiled and bowed slightly:
"Thank you for your generosity."
"Official Beyonders might arrive at any moment. We should leave."
Sharron nodded, saying nothing more.
Klein's gaze shifted to Leyton, who stood to the side, and he chuckled softly:
"Wait a moment, I want to set off some fireworks!"
Then, under the gaze of Leyton and the others, Klein raised his hand and snapped his fingers.
Boom! Rumble! Boom!
The bombs buried underground exploded one after another, sending up bursts of flames.
They clustered together, forming a ball, with bright flames surging, dreamlike and beautiful.
Sharron and Maric's gazes were instinctively drawn for a second. When they came back to their senses, the figures of Klein and Leyton had already disappeared.
A few minutes later, a Machinery Hivemind team appeared in the open space surrounded by the abandoned warehouses.
Quite a few people arrived, five in total. They each carried different Beyonder weapons, fully armed.
Frowning at the scene before them, which looked as if it had been ploughed, the few of them fell silent for a moment, then gravely threw themselves into the work of finding clues.
In the room at Minsk Street 15, Leyton's figure, with his hand on Klein's shoulder, quickly materialized.
"It's getting late. Get some rest early."
After a greeting, Leyton turned and stepped into the Spirit World again, disappearing from Klein's living room.
Klein looked at the spot where Leyton had disappeared, swallowed the words he was about to say in response, shook his head slightly, and walked up to the second floor.
Leyton's figure quickly materialized in his own bedroom. He placed the small iron box containing the Wraith Beyonder characteristic and the biological toxin bottle wrapped in transparent amber to the side.
After a simple wash in the washroom, Leyton lay down on the bed and fell asleep.
At the open space where the Rose School of Thought's Indulgence Faction was besieged, the Machinery Hivemind team members had already been replaced.
The person now responsible for handling this incident was a Deacon of the Church of the God of Steam and Machinery, Ikanser Bernard. His brown hair was messy and splayed outwards, unable to be concealed even by a hat.
At this moment, Ikanser, with his strong and clear facial features, was holding an ancient patterned silver mirror. On each side of the mirror were eye-like decorations, with deep black gems as their base, looking profound and charming.
"Although those rats in the sewers are experts at interfering with divination and spiritualism, and they handled the scene effectively."
"However, in the mysterious Beyonder world, no method can guarantee 100% success."
Ikanser said, looking around at the Machinery Hivemind members.
As he finished speaking, his gaze shifted to the silver mirror in his hand, and he gently stroked its surface three times with his right palm.
A faint ripple of water light appeared on the surface of the silver mirror.
After a two-second pause, Ikanser took a deep breath and said in a deep voice:
"Respected Arrodes, my question is: Who were the participants in the events that just occurred in this place?"
The surrounding Darkness became misty at this moment, and the water light on the silver mirror's surface became even more pronounced.
Soon, a scene appeared within the silver mirror:
Amidst the rising flames, there was a figure floating in mid-air, dressed in a black double-breasted tailcoat, wearing a semi-tall silk top hat. His figure was distorted and indistinct, his face blurred to the point of being unrecognizable, and it was painted with oil paint.
Beneath his feet, tongues of fire suddenly shot out, engulfing him.
The surface of the silver mirror rippled like water, and the scene changed with the water light.
Shadows continuously rolled and writhed, and the figure of a young man in a long trench coat appeared in the scene. The shadows around him were like a curtain, concealing his figure, making it impossible to discern any useful information.
The scene shifted again, revealing a middle-aged man in a dark red cloak. Brilliant flames burned on his body, and most of his body was hidden in the Darkness, making him appear very indistinct.
The scene on the silver mirror continued to shift. Ikanser and the others saw a woman wearing a complex black court dress with light golden hair disheveled. However, the position of her face was completely transparent, as if it didn't exist.
Beside this lady was a man whose body was covered in long black hair.
There was also a back figure being pulled by arms.
Finally, the scene displayed on the silver mirror froze on bundles of rising flames, like splendidly blooming "fireworks."
