Chapter 47 - Chapter 46: Zen’in Clan Incident, Part 2

Greeting fellow readers, MasterW here!

I bring to all a new chapter.

New week just started, so make sure to stone the story, it helps a lot with my inspiration.

Without any further to do, enjoy!

---------------------------------------------------

Shigeo pushed open the door to his modest home, the weight of the long day settling heavily on his shoulders. He kicked off his shoes and shuffled straight to his room, collapsing face-first onto his bed with a tired groan.

His head was still spinning from the afternoon study session. Miko, Yuria, Hana, and Zaimozuka had been relentlessly, drilling into him math, history, Japanese vocabulary until his brain felt like mush.

They had eventually split off to handle their own things, leaving him alone with his thoughts.

And Lala… he hadn't seen her properly in days. She was busy with something at Chiba Jujutsu High, she wouldn't say exactly what, only that it was "important business" He missed her bright energy, her cheerful invasions of his room at night.

Especially those nights

She would appear out of nowhere, slip into his bed, and sleep beside him, usually completely naked.

The first few times had nearly short-circuited his teenage brain. Now he was getting used to it… sort of.

Having a beautiful, affectionate girl like Lala pressed against him every night had done wonders for his self-esteem.

He had even started receiving a couple of confessions at school, something that had never happened before. Of course, he had gently turned them all down. Every time a girl approached him, he couldn't help but compare them to Lala's radiant smile… and they always came up short.

His life really had changed.

From a timid, quiet kid terrified of his own power to someone who could stand up and protect others. He had real friends who understood him. A girl who openly said she wanted to be his wife. And a teacher who believed in him.

He rolled onto his back, staring at the ceiling with a small, content smile.

Just then, his phone buzzed.

He picked it up and saw a message from an unknown number.

{Unknown: Hello, is this Kageyama Shigeo-kun's phone number?}

Shigeo blinked, sitting up a little

{Shigeo: Yes, this is Shigeo. Who is this?}

{Unknown: This is Mezato Ichi. From the Smile Cult incident. I wanted to thank you again for saving my life that day}

Shigeo's eyes widened slightly.

{Shigeo: Oh… Mezato-san. I'm glad you're okay. You don't have to thank me}

{Mezato: I do. You really saved me back there. I was terrified. If it's alright with you…. could we meet tomorrow? I'd like to talk about what happened. Maybe over a meal? My treat, of course}

Shigeo hesitated, fingers hovering over the screen.

{Shigeo: I'm not sure I'm allowed to talk about it… Sensei said we should keep things quiet}

{Mezato: Please? You can't just save someone's life and not let them repay you somehow. Let me at least buy you lunch. I promise I won't write anything without permission}

Shigeo thought for a moment, then sighed softly.

{Shigeo: Okay… just lunch then. Tomorrow after school?}

{Mezato: Perfect! Thank you so much, Kageyama-kun! See you then!}

He set the phone down, a small, awkward smile on his face.

Just then, a voice spoke right beside his ear.

"Wow, you've got all the girls going crazy for you, huh?"

Shigeo jolted upright, cursed energy flaring instinctively around him as he turned.

Floating lazily in the air beside his bed was a small, green, floating mass, vaguely humanoid, with a familiar manic grin.

"Woah, easy there, cowboy!" the green mass said, raising its hands in mock surrender. "It's me, Lord Dimple! Well… just Dimple now, I guess."

Shigeo stared, wide-eyed. "You…? How are you still alive? I thought I destroyed you completely!"

Dimple floated closer, looking almost sheepish.

"Just before you hit me with that attack, I made a desperate Binding Vow. I wouldn't die from your attack… but in exchange, I would become a Shikigami bound to you, forced to follow your every order. I was scared, okay? Cursed spirits like me don't get second chances. When we die, we just disappear. Even a Special Grade like me would just reincarnate as something completely different, probably a weak, mindless curse with no memories. I didn't want that"

Shigeo stared at the floating spirit for a long moment, processing.

"…Maybe Sensei will know what to do with you," he muttered finally. "I wonder what he's doing right now…"

(Busujima Saeko's POV)

Her father meeting Akira-sensei had been one of the most anticipated moments in her life.

Ever since her father had expressed interest in meeting the white-haired teacher, Saeko had felt a small, persistent flutter in her chest every time she thought about it.

After all, she was the sole heir of the Busujima Family, a lineage of samurai and swordsmen that traced its roots back to the Heian Era. Their swordsmen had been documented with renown and feats that bordered on the supernatural. Looking at it now, many of those feats likely had connections to the jujutsu world. She would have to double-check that later.

Her family carried a deep legacy, one so respected that most influential families in Japan still held the Busujima name in high regard. That legacy brought its own complications.

First, she was a woman. She refused to victimize herself by claiming weakness because of her gender, she was not weak. She had already proven many times that she could defeat men twice her size through skill and strength alone, and that was before Sensei had granted her the gift of Heavenly Restriction.

Still, she would not sugarcoat reality. She was a woman, and in the traditional values instilled in her since childhood, when she married, her name would change to that of her spouse.

And that brought the second problem.

The man who married her would inherit the Busujima Family and become its head, gaining ownership of their entire legacy.

That was why her father had reactivated the old Busujima marriage traditions and insisted on personally reviewing every candidate. He had made it clear: the moment she "accepted" someone…... he would evaluate whether the candidate was worthy of carrying the Busujima name.

One of the conditions was that the man must be a master of the sword, meaning he had to defeat her father in combat.

Luckily for all those unfortunate suitors who had pursued her over the years, she had never accepted any of them.

With the sole exception of Yoshioka Akira-sensei

He was completely different from every man she had ever met. Handsome to an almost unfair degree, with an imposing aura and physique that towered over her by a full head. His muscles made him look even more commanding.

And that was without counting his strength and compassion.

He had saved her life by chance, killing a man without hesitation. The sight of that man lying dead on the ground had awakened something inside her. The next time she practiced kendo, she had tried to replicate that feeling, striking her opponents without holding back. Every opponent that day had ended up in the infirmary with broken bones and bruised ribs.

But when she returned to the changing room and saw her own reflection, flushed, ecstatic, almost euphoric, she had been disgusted with herself. With the horrible person she was becoming. She had vomited from the sheer revulsion she felt toward herself.

She had lived like a rabid dog that deserved to be put down.

For weeks after that, she had acted as the perfect Busujima heir on the surface, but the thought that she deserved death lingered in her mind every single day. Even when Sensei gave her the power to fight curses, she had quietly looked for a powerful opponent, hoping for a death that would atone for the sin of being born scum.

Then came the conversation before his fight with Gojo Satoru.

With a single look, Sensei had seen exactly what she was, and what she was going through.

And he had accepted her. He had accepted every dark part of her. He had even given her a sword, and she had accepted it

From that moment on, her heart had belonged to him.

Then she had witnessed his fight against Gojo Satoru. She had never seen Sensei fight with a katana before. Watching him wield one and defeat the so-called Strongest Sorcerer in the world had only deepened her feelings.

She would never accept anyone but him. She would give him everything.

Even if he chose Mai or another woman, she wouldn't mind being a concubine, a side partner, or anything else.

She simply wanted to stay by the side of the man who had given her a reason to live.

And now, her father was finally meeting that man.

If he approved… she would be able to marry him without trouble.

Age gap? Her father had been in his mid-thirties when he married her mother, who had been barely nineteen. That didn't matter.

Family influence? While the Yoshioka name held no particular weight on its own, it wouldn't matter to the Busujima Family if he proved himself worthy.

Other suitors? They would have to fight against Yoshioka Akira, the current Strongest Sorcerer in the world. Against that, every man was but an ant

So, Yoshioka Akira, was the perfect man for her

------------------------------------------------------------------------

"It is a pleasure to meet you, Busujima-dono," Akira said formally, bowing with perfect etiquette.

"The pleasure is mine, Yoshioka-dono," Takao replied, returning the bow with equal respect.

Takagi Souichiro instantly added, "Busujima-sensei, why don't you take a seat?" He snapped his fingers at a servant to bring additional plates and attend to his swordsmanship teacher.

But Busujima Takao raised his hand. "No need, Takagi-dono. But I might impose on you with something else." He turned to Akira. "I've heard many things about you from my daughter, Yoshioka-dono. One of those things was that you are an exceptional swordsman. I would be honored if we could cross blades"

Akira met the older man's gaze steadily. "If that is your wish, Busujima-dono, I would be glad to oblige."

Saeko, standing slightly behind her father, felt her heart skip a beat. The two most important men in her life were finally in the same room.

---------------------------------------------------------------

(Third Person's POV)

The group moved from the dining room to the Takagi Estate's private dojo, a spacious, traditional training hall where Souichiro himself practiced daily. The tatami flooring was of the highest quality, springy yet firm underfoot. High-end practice swords and several genuine blades hung neatly on the walls, each one a testament to the family's respect for the way of the sword.

This was the place where Yoshioka Akira and Busujima Takao would cross blades.

Akira had changed out of his elegant yukata into a more robust, rougher one suited for combat, the fabric sturdy and easy to move in. Busujima Takao, for his part, removed the upper portion of his yukata, letting it hang from his waist and revealing a powerfully muscular physique that belied his middle age. Scars from countless battles marked his torso, proof of a lifetime dedicated to the blade.

Both men were handed high-quality katanas for the bout.

On the way to the dojo, the conditions had been clearly set. It would be a fight to first blood. Akira, knowing that Takao was aware he was a sorcerer, had promised to fight using only sword technique, no cursed energy enhancement, no reinforcement, nothing beyond pure skill with the blade

The entire Takagi family, along with Saeko, sat on cushions along the side of the dojo, watching with expectant eyes as the two combatants prepared.

Saeko and Souichiro, both dedicated practitioners of the sword, knew this fight would likely be short.

When true masters of the blade met, their duels were rarely grand spectacles of flashy movement.

True masters, those who had devoted their entire lives to the way of the sword, often needed only a single decisive moment to determine the victor. Because one move was all it took.

Akira and Takao stood facing each other, roughly a dozen steps apart. The air in the dojo grew heavy with tension. Neither man spoke. They simply observed one another, reading stance, breathing, intent, and spirit

Akira shifted first, adopting a relaxed yet ready middle stance, blade held naturally. Takao mirrored him for a moment, then changed into a more aggressive high stance, testing the waters. Akira responded by lowering his center of gravity slightly, adjusting into a defensive counter-stance.

The silence stretched.

Then, with a sharp cry, Takao took the initiative.

"KYA!"

He exploded forward with impressive speed for his age, delivering a powerful diagonal slash aimed at Akira's shoulder.

Akira moved quickly and fluidly. He parried the strike cleanly, the clash of steel ringing through the dojo, then immediately countered with a swift horizontal cut. Takao deflected it and pressed forward with a thrust. Akira sidestepped and delivered a precise overhead strike.

Akira's blade flashed as it made contact with his opponent's chest

A thin red line appeared across Takao's chest. A few drops of blood fell onto the pristine tatami floor.

The fight ended as quickly as it had begun

Takao stood straight, lowering his sword. He looked at Akira with eyes full of genuine respect.

"Well done, Yoshioka-sama," he said, bowing deeply. "Thank you for this fight."

Akira returned the bow with equal respect. "Thank you for this fight as well, Takao-dono. Do you need me to heal your wound?"

"No," Takao replied firmly, a small smile on his face. "I will carry this scar as proof of your victory." He nodded toward the doctor waiting on the side, who immediately moved forward to treat the shallow cut.

Akira nodded once. "Well met"

Saeko rose from her cushion and walked gracefully to her father, kneeling beside him.

"Father…"

Takao turned to her, his gaze steady and unwavering. "He is a worthy man, Saeko. I approve."

Hearing those words, Saeko's face bloomed into a radiant, heartfelt smile, brighter than any she had shown in a long time

-------------------------------------------------------

After the duel concluded and the doctor finished treating Takao's shallow wound, Busujima Saeko and her father politely excused themselves to fully heal. And also, Takao wished to speak with his daughter in private, and Akira gracefully accepted their departure.

Sometime later, once the meal was properly finished, Akira stood up and bowed respectfully to his hosts.

"Thank you for the wonderful dinner and the hospitality. I must take my leave now."

The Takagi family accompanied him to the front gate, where a sleek black limousine waited under the soft glow of the estate lights.

Souichiro, Yuriko, and Saya walked alongside him, fulfilling their duty as hosts to see their guest off.

Akira turned to them at the gate. "Thank you once again for the invitation, Takagi-dono, Yuriko-dono, Saya-san. The evening was most pleasant."

Souichiro smiled, bowing slightly. "You are welcome here any time, Yoshioka-dono. Truly. I must also thank you for allowing me to witness the heights one can reach in the way of the sword. That was truly enlightening."

Saya stood quietly beside her parents, replaying the short but intense duel in her mind. It had lasted only a handful of seconds, yet the sheer skill displayed by both men, the white-haired teacher and the experienced middle-aged swordsman — had left a deep impression on her.

Akira gave one final nod before stepping into the limousine. The vehicle pulled away smoothly, disappearing down the long driveway.

As the family turned back toward the house, Yuriko walked beside her daughter and spoke softly.

"Saya, what do you think of Yoshioka Akira?"

Saya thought for a moment, her cheeks still faintly warm from the memory of the evening.

"He was… polite and formal. Very composed. And seeing his skill in the fight, it's clear he is exceptionally talented. Not to mention he is a sorcerer of very high category" She paused, then added honestly, "All in all, I have a very good impression of him."

Yuriko smiled knowingly, exchanging a quick glance with her husband

"I'm glad you think so. After all, your father has been considering him as a potential candidate for marriage"

Saya's eyes widened in shock. "Mama?!"

"Oh hush, Saya," Yuriko said with a light laugh. "You know this conversation was going to happen sooner or later. And believe me — if I were in your position, I would much rather choose a man like Yoshioka Akira than any of the other suitors who have come asking for an audience with your father."

Saya fell silent as they walked, her mind turning over her mother's words.

It was no secret that she had inherited her mother's striking beauty. Combined with her father's considerable political influence, she had become a prime target for arranged marriages. The suitors she had met so far were… disappointing, to say the least. Spoiled sons of wealthy families, overweight with arrogance, who saw her as little more than a trophy wife or a stepping stone for political connections. Most of them lacked manners, character, and any real substance except their family influence

But Yoshioka Akira…

He was different. Calm, respectful, overwhelmingly competent, and carrying an aura of quiet power. The fact that he could casually defeat a master swordsman like Busujima Takao while holding back his supernatural powers made the comparison even more stark.

Saya lowered her gaze, a small, thoughtful blush coloring her cheeks.

She actually wouldn't mind

----------------------------------------------------------

Saeko arrived at Chiba Jujutsu High with a noticeable spring in her step and a satisfied, radiant expression on her face.

Everything so far had been going exceptionally well.

After the duel, her father had taken her aside and spoken seriously about the future of the Busujima Family. He had told her they would begin preparations as if she were already marrying Yoshioka Akira. The words had made her heart pound so loudly she had barely been able to respond.

All the way to school, she had been floating on a cloud of quiet joy.

As she reached the training grounds behind the main building, she saw Saki in the middle of a spar with Okkotsu Yuta.

"Square the fuck up, pussy boy!" Saki shouted, throwing a sharp kick that Yuta barely managed to block.

Yuta was breathing heavily, covered in sweat, but he was still standing. Saeko smiled softly at the sight. The boy was improving.

Saki noticed Saeko approaching and called for a break, wiping sweat from her brow.

"Alright, take five, Yuta," she said, then turned toward Ishigami who was sitting on the side playing on his handheld console. "Prepare yourself, Ishigami. You're next."

Ishigami let out a long, dramatic sigh and paused his game. "Sure…"

Saeko walked over, still carrying that unmistakable good mood.

Saki immediately raised an eyebrow, a smirk forming on her lips. "Well, well. Look who's in a suspiciously good mood today. Did you finally get a boyfriend or something?"

Saeko's smile widened just a fraction. "Something like that."

Saki whistled. "Damn. Details later"

"Sure, anyway, how's Yuta doing?"

"He seems to be improving," Saki replied, glancing at the exhausted boy who was currently lying on his back trying to catch his breath.

"You're pushing him quite hard."

"Yeah, but he's handling it better than before," Saki said, crossing her arms. "He's not tripping over his own feet anymore. The kid's got crazy potential."

All of Yuta's classmates had been helping with his training in their own ways.

Saki and Saeko focused on hand-to-hand combat and weapon training, drilling him relentlessly on basics and practical application.

Surprisingly, Ishigami, who had the most precise cursed energy control among them, had taken charge of teaching Yuta how to manipulate and output his energy efficiently.

It wasn't surprising once you thought about it. Every time Ishigami played video games, he was unconsciously practicing minute control over his cursed energy output.

Yuta had been absorbing everything like a sponge. Combined with his enormous cursed energy reserves, he was quickly shaping up to become a very capable sorcerer.

Just then, Nagino Kensuke appeared at the edge of the training ground, walking toward them with a serious expression.

"Busujima. A mission just came in."

Saki's eyes lit up. "Nice! I've been wanting to sharpen my edge again-"

"No," Nagino interrupted. "The only one going on this mission is Busujima."

Saki blinked. "Wait, what? Just her?"

Nagino nodded. "Orders from above. It's a solo mission. Details will be sent to your phone, Busujima. Prepare yourself."

Saeko's expression turned serious, though a trace of her earlier good mood still lingered.

She gave a respectful nod.

"Understood, Nagino-sensei"

------------------------------------------------------------

(Thousand Years Ago)

(Asia Argento's POV)

She was abandoned as a child.

Left on the steps of a small church on a cold autumn night. The nuns took her in, gave her food, clothes, and a name, Asia Argento. They said God had guided her to them. For a long time, that was enough.

In that orphanage, she only had one true friend.

Aaden Yerges.

Just like her, he was an orphan. But unlike her, he had lived on the streets for years before the church found him. That background made the other children cruel. They called him "street rat," "filth," "son of a sinner." Aaden always fought back.

No matter how many times they ganged up on him, he never stayed down.

Then one day, it was her turn

A group of older kids cornered her, mocking her golden hair and calling her a "cursed doll" because she was quieter than most. She was scared, tears already falling, when Aaden appeared.

He fought them all.

Even though he was smaller and outnumbered, he threw himself at them like a wild animal. When it was over, he was covered in bruises and cuts, bleeding from his lip and nose. She ran to him, desperate to help, and something inside her awakened.

A warm green light flowed from her hands. His wounds began to close.

That was the day she discovered her gift.

The church called her a Holy Maiden. But not everyone saw it that way. Word spread through the town. Some adults and children started calling her a monster, a witch, an abomination wearing the skin of a child.

That was when Aaden stepped in again.

He picked fights with anyone who insulted her, children, adults, men, women. No one was spared. When the nuns scolded him, he simply said

"We are all equal in the eyes of God. So, everyone is equally deserving of a beating."

His words gave her courage. Following his suggestion, she started going house to house, healing the sick and injured. She visited construction sites to ease the workers' fatigue and helped the elderly with their pain.

Slowly, people stopped seeing her as a monster and began to see her as a little girl with a strange but helpful power.

It was all thanks to him, her Holy Knight.

Every evening, he returned to the church battered and exhausted, hands full of calluses, body covered in fresh bruises. And every time, she healed him. Watching him push himself so hard for her sake made her young heart flutter in ways she didn't fully understand.

Then, news of her healing reached the Vatican.

Sister Griselda Quarta arrived with two girls her age, Xenovia and Irina. They possessed the "Light of the Lord," an affinity for holy magic. Xenovia was even a candidate for a Holy Sword user. They were there to take her away for proper training.

She didn't want to leave Aaden behind.

He knelt before Sister Quarta, begging her to take him too.

"I'm sorry, young man," she said gently, "but you do not have the Light of the Lord within you."

Those words broke something inside her. Aaden had already been abandoned by his parents, treated like a delinquent… and now even God seemed to have forgotten him.

Yet he didn't give up.

"Even if I am not one of the chosen ones by Heaven," he declared, eyes burning with determination, "I still follow His teachings. I still follow His will. Please allow me to be God's weapon…. with my own power!"

Sister Quarta eventually relented.

They took both of them

In the Vatican, she trained to refine her healing. Xenovia and Irina became her close friends, they were the ones who got injured most often during training and came to her for healing. But the one who suffered the most was always Aaden.

He was the weakest among them in terms of power.

Every sparring session, whether against Xenovia's destructive strength or Irina's speed, he ended up the most injured. He always arrived to her with broken bones, deep cuts and exhausted beyond measure. Yet he kept coming back the next day, asking for more

And every night, she healed him.

She would sit by his bedside, hands glowing with gentle light, watching his pained expression slowly relax. Sometimes he would smile at her through the blood and say:

"Thank you, Asia. As long as you can keep smiling, I can keep fighting."

Her heart ached every time.

He was her protector, her knight, her closest friend. Even without holy power, he fought harder than anyone. She wanted to stay by his side forever.

She didn't know then that their peaceful days would soon be shattered that the boy who defended her with everything he had would one day stand against devils themselves with a Bible in hand and sword dripping with blood

All for her sake

'Aaden… my Aaden'

------------------------------------------------------------

Time passed ever since they joined the Church.

Aaden, the oldest of the group, was now fourteen. Xenovia and Irina were thirteen, and she was twelve. Their daily routine remained strict and demanding, filled with training, prayer, and study.

Until one day, Aaden began showing clear improvement.

During a practice match, he managed to defeat Xenovia for the first time. Then he defeated Irina. The shocked faces of everyone present were impossible to miss. But she never doubted him. Not even once.

From that moment on, his strength continued to grow. He fought using only his own power and hard-earned knowledge. With time, he began defeating adults. Then he defeated all of them. Eventually, he even defeated the Elite Knights of the Church, including Sister Griselda Quarta herself. All of it without a single trace of holy power or a Sacred Gear.

He earned the title "God's Bayonet" for his preferred choice of weapons, bayonets

She felt glad. His endless effort was finally being recognized. But she did not like the attention it brought him.

Xenovia and Irina had always been close friends within their tight-knit group. Aaden, as the oldest and only boy, with his mature attitude, had naturally become the de-facto leader.

After he defeated both girls, they began seeking his advice more often. They trained with him, talked with him, and spent more time near him.

She did not like it.

She did not like how close they got to him. She did not like the way Xenovia looked at him. She did not like how Irina clung to him after training.

She knew jealousy was a sin, but she could not help it. She had met him first. She had been with him the longest.

Still, she had something they did not. He had fought for her smile, and hers alone.

No matter how close they became to him, they would never be as close as she was.

That did not mean she had to like it.

Then came the missions.

Xenovia and Irina were chosen as Holy Sword users. Aaden became an Inquisitor, a high-ranking title for an Exorcist. She was assigned as emergency support, sent wherever healing was desperately needed.

Her last mission had been one of those.

She had been sent to a remote church to provide support. The group went out on their operation while she stayed behind in the church, ready to heal anyone who returned injured.

That was when she met a devil.

An injured devil lay bleeding out in a barn nearby. He looked pitifully weak, and in pain. She thought about helping him.

After all, God's teachings were about showing mercy to those in need, without regard for who they were

She moved to help him.Only to be stopped by Aaden.

Her heart nearly stopped. She had almost committed a grave sin by helping a devil.

But Aaden was not angry with her. His anger was directed at the devil. He called the creature a conniving snake and a deceiver.

It had all been a trap meant to get her excommunicated. The devil had done the same thing before to another Holy Maiden.

Later, she learned the devil had a twisted fetish for breaking the minds of Holy Maidens and adding them to his peerage as slaves.

Aaden fought the devil when it tried to take her. In the end, her knight killed the creature.

Then the real problems began.

The devil turned out to be the sibling of one of the leaders of Hell — a Satan.

The demon faction demanded she be handed over and Aaden executed, or they would declare war. The Church fell into a difficult conundrum.

Sister Griselda Quarta held her tightly and told her everything would be okay.

But she did not believe it.

It was all her fault.

She was the reason Aaden now faced such harsh scrutiny. The higher-ups in the Vatican were seriously considering handing her over to the devils, but Sister Quarta, along with Father Strada and Father Gesualdo, fought fiercely against the decision. They even called upon Heaven for help.

She felt deeply grateful for their defense, yet the guilt weighed heavily on her heart. Because of her, Aaden's position had been put in jeopardy.

Then Aaden did something no one expected.

He killed many members of the Church who had been in favor of handing her over and accepting his execution. In doing so, he exposed their corruption, they had been colluding with the devil faction, accepting bribes and turning a blind eye to countless atrocities. One of them had even been running a secret business, handing over children from their orphanage to devils.

The revelation made her feel sick to her stomach. The expressions on the faces of the others showed they felt the same disgust.

But Aaden went even further.

He traveled to the Underworld itself and slaughtered hundreds of devils. He wiped out the entire family of the devil who had tried to take her, along with his allies and many more high-ranking and powerful devils, including fighting a Satan.

When word reached them, hysteria spread like wildfire. The devil faction had long been considered the strongest among the three factions, above even the Fallen Angels and Heaven. Yet in a single night, someone from the Church had proven otherwise. A human from the Heaven faction had defeated one of the strongest Satans all by himself.

When the angels of Heaven arrived to mediate, Aaden had already returned.

She met Archangel Michael and Archangel Gabriel that day.

Aaden stood before them and asked for his punishment for his actions, but begged them to keep her out of it.

She was about to speak up and ask to share his punishment when Sister Quarta replied first.

"You are to clean every weapon in the armory for a month."

That was his punishment.

She could not help but feel relieved and happy.

"You are a very pure boy, aren't you?" Archangel Gabriel said softly. "You were ready to sacrifice your life for your friend."

"And I would do it again, without hesitation," Aaden replied.

His words made her heart flutter with thousands of butterflies. Xenovia and Irina looked at him with passionate eyes. Even Archangel Gabriel seemed to regard him differently.

He literally went Hell and back, all for her

Archangel Michael's smile widened as he heard those words. "To think such a child with such a pure soul would be born after all this time."

That's right.

He was her knight.

Her Holy Knight
