"Me? I'm not here to buy anything—I'm with him," Alex replied, referring to Kai. When he heard that the Soul Revival Pill wasn't available at the moment, he wasn't disheartened.
After all, it's a Grade 4 pill—it would cost a fortune to buy.
"With Kai?"
When Miya heard that the other human was with Kai, she didn't bother questioning him further.
"Can you tell me the price of the Soul Revival Pill?"
Since the pill wasn't available, Kai did the next best thing—he asked for its price.
Even the most common Grade 4 pills cost more than 1,000 gold coins, and he knew Alex's family didn't have that kind of money.
"The Soul Revival Pill isn't that expensive—just 5,000 gold coins, or you can exchange it for 100,000 Honey Points."
While stating the price, Miya kept staring at Kai's facial expressions.
If someone had really taken over Kai's body, he would show a look of confusion. In Fairy Land, the Soul Revival Pill is actually quite common, and its price is even cheaper than some Grade 3 pills.
However, much to Miya's surprise, Kai didn't look confused. Instead, he felt the price was just right. After all, the Soul Revival Pill is used to heal Soul injuries, which are quite rare.
On the other hand, when Alex heard the price, he was shocked.
Ever since he started Hunting, the most he had earned in a single day was a silver coin. Now that he was about to undergo his third Heavenly Trial, he expected to earn a little more daily.

"Should I swallow it or use the Devour ability to absorb the Ki within it?"
After some thought, Kai decided to swallow the pill, as using the Devour ability would take too long to absorb all the Ki inside the Lesser Vitality Pill.
When the pill reached his stomach, he didn't feel anything at first. But then, out of nowhere, a huge burst of Ki erupted within him.
Sensing the sudden influx of Ki, his Source Ki rushed toward it and began madly devouring the energy.
Within a few minutes, Kai's Source Ki had consumed all the Ki from the Lesser Vitality Pill, and his Ki reserve began to rise.

After an increase of 10 units, his Source Ki finally calmed down.
"This can be addicting," Kai muttered. The sudden surge of Ki made his entire body burst with joy, a tingling sensation spreading across every inch of him.
Without further hesitation, he took the second Lesser Vitality Pill, then the third, and after that, the fourth.
*huff* *huff* *huff* *huff*
The sudden surge in Ki caused Kai's body temperature to rise rapidly.
After taking the fourth pill, he was drenched in sweat from head to toe. If one looked closely, they would notice that his skin had turned slightly red.
Once his Source Ki finished absorbing all the Ki from the fourth Lesser Vitality Pill, Kai collapsed onto the floor.
After resting for half an hour, he opened the lid of the pill jar to take the final Lesser Vitality Pill. However, just as he reached for it, he felt a strange movement in his stomach—and immediately rushed to the toilet.
An hour later, Kai emerged looking like a dead fish.
"No wonder it says to use with caution."
Lying on his bed, Kai couldn't help but recall the warning label on the pill jar. As an Alchemist, he knew very well that consuming too many pills could lead to serious stomach issues.
But this was the first time he had experienced it firsthand.

As Kai was going over his status window, gurgling sounds began coming from his stomach.
"I should get something to eat."
Remembering that he had flushed out everything he had eaten earlier, Kai grabbed his clothes and left his room. After taking a shower at the public bath, he made his way to the dining area.
"Today's harvest was great. Those damn Silver Wolves are getting what they deserve."
"At the rate we're hunting them, it won't be long before they're extinct."
"Those bastards better not go extinct before I get my revenge."
Sitting at his table, Kai listened to the conversations around him. It seemed that recently, most hunters had started targeting Silver Wolves.
However, it was understandable. After all, many humans had died at the fangs of those wolves. Even three of his companions back at the apartment complex had fallen victim to them.
As Kai was listening and thinking about the Silver Wolves, his food finally arrived.
"Is anyone going to the Mayor's office to ask for a loan?"
"Loan? I heard the Mayor is offering loans to newcomers to buy better equipment and weapons, but I haven't met anyone who actually got one."
"It's just like those politicians back on Earth—spreading false promises to gain public favor."
"This is the first time I'm hearing about this. We have a Mayor? Since when?"
"Idiot, it's been five days and you still don't know?"
"Call me stupid, but I don't remember ever voting for someone."
"The Mayor wasn't elected by our votes. Leaders of some Hunter Parties gathered and chose a Mayor. We haven't even seen him, much less know his name."
"Should we go to the Mayor's office to take a look?"
"Why not? There's no harm in going. While we're there, we can ask for that loan."
While Kai was eating, the topic of the recently elected Mayor came up.
