Chapter 21 - chapter 15 — "Jealous Hearts"

📖 **CHAPTER FIFTEEN — "Jealous Hearts"**

---

### 💌 Author Note — From Aish L'Inarrestabile:

> *"They say jealousy is green, but in Yuvraj Malhotra — it's blood red, gunmetal black, and laced with silk rage. Aira's laugh becomes a crime scene. A stranger from her past becomes a target. And the king? He's about to lose his calm, but not his crown. Ready to destroy pretty boys? Let's begin."*

### 🔄 **Recap from Chapter 14 — "The Honeymoon That Wasn't":**

Aira refused the honeymoon.

He returned with a tattoo — her name, inked under his ribs.

She kissed him like a sinner worshipping fire.

But the bliss didn't last.

Because the Singh family wasn't here for revenge.

They were here… for her.

---

He walked in like he *owned* oxygen.

Yuvraj Malhotra — six foot two, broad-shouldered and knife-hipped.

Dressed in obsidian silk, sleeves rolled just enough to reveal the ink that bore her name.

His jaw was cut in fury. His shirt clung to his chest like a second skin.

Every step he took was thunder. Controlled. Deadly. Silent.

And then… he saw her.

Aira.

Wearing a sapphire blue sari that shimmered like smoke and danger, pleated at the waist so precisely it made his vision blur. Her back exposed. Her smile unguarded. Her eyes laughing.

And the man standing too close.

---

He was beautiful.

That Singh boy.

Tall. Slender. Jaw like a prince, eyes like secrets.

Golden kurta. Casual smirk.

And his hand — *too damn close* to Aira's hip.

Yuvraj's blood boiled.

Aira hadn't seen him yet.

She was laughing. Relaxed.

But his queen's smile didn't belong to just anyone.

Not now. Not ever.

> "Who the f*** is that?" he growled.

The butler flinched.

> "Sir… that's Aarav Singh. Her—"

Yuvraj didn't wait.

---

He crossed the room with calm so tense it made the chandeliers rattle.

The second Aarav turned, he felt it — *the storm*.

But he smiled.

Like he'd just met a joke.

> "Yuvraj, right? I've heard—"

Yuvraj didn't offer his hand.

Didn't smile.

Didn't blink.

> "Step away from my wife."

Aira's smile vanished.

> "Yuvraj—" she warned.

He didn't look at her.

His eyes were locked on Aarav.

Like a lion eyeing a gazelle that wandered too close to his den.

> "You're overreacting," Aira said.

He finally turned. Slowly.

His jaw flexed. His voice — calm, venom.

> "Am I? Because from here, it looks like he's trying to charm what belongs to me."

> "I *don't* belong to you," she hissed.

That stung.

He hid it.

> "Fine," he said. "Then let him kiss you. Let him see if he survives it."

---

Silence. Heavy.

Then Aira stepped forward. One step. Close.

> "Are you jealous?" she whispered.

He laughed — once. Bitter. Beautiful.

> "Jealous is for men who fear losing. I'm angry, Aira. Because you know exactly what you're doing."

> "What am I doing?"

> "Making me want to destroy someone. Again."

---

Aarav cleared his throat.

> "Look, I didn't mean to cause—"

Yuvraj's stare sliced him mid-sentence.

> "Leave."

> "I'm here on business."

> "Your business just got cancelled."

---

Aira touched his chest. Barely.

The tattoo was under her fingers.

His heart beat once. Hard.

> "Stop it," she whispered. "He's my cousin."

Pause.

Yuvraj blinked.

> "What?"

> "My mother's sister's son. I haven't seen him since we were ten."

Silence again.

Deadly.

Then Yuvraj did the one thing no one expected.

He laughed.

Low. Dark. Almost… embarrassed.

> "You let me think—"

> "You assumed."

> "You *played* me."

She tilted her head.

> "I needed to see how much you'd burn."

He stepped back.

Hands on his hips. Breathing shallow.

> "I'd burn the world."

> "I know."

She walked past him. Hair brushing his chest. Voice soft.

> "Next time, trust me. Or bleed."

---

That night, he didn't sleep.

He watched her.

Sleeping. Breathing.

And whispered to the dark:

> "I'd bleed. But never for another man."

---

### 💌 Author Note — From Aish L'Inarrestabile:

> *"He almost lost his mind. She almost made him. But the real threat? It's not jealousy. It's what's coming next — a secret Singh heir. Aira's cousin... with power, ambition, and a plan. Chapter 16: *The Seduction Game* — where lines blur, rules snap, and Yuvraj's patience ends at the edge of her lips."*

> **Aira found a letter on her pillow the next morning.**

> One sentence.

> From Aarav.

>

> *"You married a king. But don't forget — you were born a queen. Come meet me. Alone."*
