~Lisa's POV
I sighed, rolling onto my back, staring at the ceiling. "I'm so tired," I whispered, my voice barely a breath.
The candles by my bedside flickered, as though answering me. The air grew warm, calm. My eyes grew heavy before I even realized it.
The last thing I remembered was the faint sound of the wind outside and the soft hum of magic still lingering in the room from earlier.
And then… darkness.
I didn't even know when my thoughts stopped or when my breathing evened out.
Somewhere between the ache and the silence, my body gave in.
Before I knew it, I was asleep, my tears drying slowly against my cheeks, my hand still clutching the blanket like it could hold back the memories.
The soft knock on my door pulled me from sleep. I blinked, groggy and confused for a moment, the sunlight spilling through the curtains. Lira's voice came through, gentle but clear.
"Lisa," she said softly, pushing the door open a little. "Wake up, dear. Breakfast is ready."
