Fridolf stopped a few feet in front of us, his sword hanging loosely by his side, his cloak stained dark. He looked at the bodies around us and gave a slow, amused clap.
"Well," he said, his tone dripping with mockery. "You truly are ruthless. You've proven yourselves to be the sons of my dear brother."
Kael growled, stepping forward. "You call this praise?" His voice was sharp, shaking with rage. "You led them here. You sent them to kill us!"
Fridolf tilted his head slightly, that wicked smile still on his face. "And why shouldn't I? The Alpha's position you hold… it was mine. It should have been mine. Your father stole it. And you, his precious sons, kept it from me."
Kael's hands clenched. "You're lying," he hissed. "You…."
He didn't finish. He lunged forward, his claws flashing. I moved too, but Damon grabbed Kael by the arm before he could reach Fridolf.
"Kael, stop!" Damon barked.
