Chapter 1 - Awaken

Draven could only remember pain. Pain from being overwhelmed by his former allies in the Viltrum Empire. He was a Viltrumite and had been fighting for them for a thousand years. So then how did he get attacked by his own allies? Simple, he was the one who betrayed them. Draven had been fighting for so long but he had an awakening. He realized that what he was doing was wrong, the genocide, the conquest. It was all wrong. The senseless violence all of it. So, he rebelled, and he fought against the Viltrum Empire. He didn't go down without a fight, and he fought hard to survive when the Empire came for him. But as he battled them, he was slowly losing ground before he lost it forever and was beaten badly. He for sure thought he would die, but as the world went black for him, he felt a strange energy wrap around him and that was that. He couldn't feel anything.

As he was in pure darkness, he reflected on all he's done, all the people he killed, all the world's he conquered. He cannot be forgiven for all of that. He won't try to be forgiven; he didn't believe in second chances. But perhaps, he was given one. After being in darkness for so long, he suddenly could feel again, and it brought him confusion. He slowly opened his eyes and could see he was in a white room with all kinds of equipment around. He groans as he sits up and realizes he is in some kind of outfit. He quickly looked around and guesses he's in a medical room. He questions how he got here; he was sure he was on a barren planet with no signs of life. He then thought about the battle.

Many Viltrumites came for him, but he fought back against them. He killed two of them, but the rest overwhelmed him as they grew wise to his tactics. But it wasn't the first time he fought multiple opponents. He's experienced in that kind of thing. But how did he get here? He was certain that planet had no civilization. He did a sweep of the planet to make sure of it. So where was he? He noticed something was in his arm and so he took it out and got off the bed he was on. He walked over to the window in the room and looked outside. To his surprise he could see a large city around the building he was in. But that can't be right. What planet is he on? How did he get here?

He hears a door open behind him, and he quickly turns around and gets ready to fight thinking it was Viltrumites. But it was in fact not Viltrumites. Though they did look similar. It was clearly medical personnel but not from the Empire.

"Your awake! I-I'll go get the headmaster!" The Nurse said before hurrying out the door.

Headmaster? It's a title obviously meaning someone of power will be visiting him. At least he could get answers from them. He waits in the room for a couple moments which were rather irritating before the nurse returned with a man in a suit. The man in the suit took one glance at Draven before he turned to the nurse.

"Thank you, I'll take it from here." The man said before looking at Draven.

The nurse nods and leaves the room. The man then starts talking.

"Those were some nasty wounds you had. You've been with us for a few days, and I might add, you healed rather quickly." The man said.

"Who are you and where am I?" Draven asked defensively.

"Professor Ozpin, I'm one of the headmasters of Union Academy." The man named Ozpin said. "Huntsmen found you outside of the city in a crater, mind telling me what happened to you?"

"You wouldn't believe me." Draven said.

"I've heard a lot of unbelievable things." Ozpin said. "So, I doubt what you're going to say will match it."

Draven hesitated for a moment debating whether he should tell this Ozpin guy. He doesn't trust him not one bit, and he doesn't know how he'd react if Draven told him he was a Viltrumite. But he needs to know where he is and possibly, resources to survive.

"If I tell you, would you be able to provide adequate resources to survive?" Draven asked.

Ozpin thought that was a rather odd question, but he'll go along with it.

"Certainly." Ozpin said.

"I'm from the Planet Viltrum and I am a Viltrumite." Draven said.

"You mean to tell me that you are an Alien?" Ozpin asked.

"Whether you believe me or not, I could care less." Draven said with honesty.

"I never said I didn't believe you, it's just a little far-fetched." Ozpin said.

"I don't need you to believe me." Draven said. "But all I need to know is what Planet am I on?"

"The planet you are currently on is called Earth." Ozpin answers.

Earth. He's never heard of such a planet before, maybe it isn't on the Empire's radar. If it isn't this is good for him. It means he can amass resources and get stronger so he can return to finish what he started. He then remembers he's wearing what he guesses is medical stuff.

"Where is my suit?" Draven asked.

"It was damaged, I can have someone repair it for you. But for the meantime, you'll need something else to wear for now." Ozpin said.

"Like what?" Draven asked.

[Brief Time Skip]

Draven was now wearing a new outfit until his Viltrumite clothes could be repaired. He was wearing a dark blue T-shirt with sand-colored jeans and a brown belt. He also sported black shoes. He looked at himself for a moment before walking out of the medical room. Outside of the room was Ozpin who was waiting for him. Once he stepped outside, Ozpin looked at the newly dressed Viltrumite.

"Will these suffice?" Ozpin asked.

"For now." Draven said. "What now?"

"Now, we got to Union Academy. I've already informed the other headmasters about you, and they would like to know more about you." Ozpin said.

"Don't expect me to say much." Draven said.

"Why is that?" Ozpin asked.

"Because I don't trust you." Draven said, plain and simple.

"Fair enough." Ozpin said. "But I do hope we can learn something about you and your people."

"You won't like it." Draven said. "Because I don't."

This made Ozpin raise an eyebrow. The two then made their way out of the hospital and as they did, Draven kept his guard up in case someone tried to attack him. It would be foolish to do so of course, but this is a new planet, and they don't know what a Viltrumite is. Best to be cautious than caught off guard. Especially on a brand-new planet he's never been on. While he's certain he could defend himself as there is rarely a species that can match a Viltrumite, he can't afford to make any more enemies. He needs allies if he's going to fight back against the Empire. He won't do it alone this time.

But then again, he doesn't trust anyone he's met so far which is another obstacle. He doesn't like those, but he has to suck it up and deal with it. Being a Thousand years old, he should have the experience needed to handle this issue. But he has no idea what the future has in store for him. He doesn't know if he'll gain more enemies or gain more allies in this new planet. But he hopes that everything goes well and if it doesn't, he needs to leave this planet before the Viltrum Empire finds him.
