Chapter 39 - Chapter 39: Weak

The rain began to fall—slow at first, then harder, washing blood and dirt off the streets of Devil's Side.

Bunnyman's eyes narrowed. His muscles tensed. He could feel every bruise on his body, every crack in his bones.

But this was his moment.

With a scream of defiance, he charged.

Mr. Crow grinned, raising his fists, expecting another desperate dodge. But instead, Bunnyman struck first.

A punch to the ribs.

An elbow to the face.

A knee to the gut.

Blow after blow, fast and furious—each one landing, each one louder than the last.

Mr. Crow staggered back, shocked.

"You think that drug makes you powerful?" Bunnyman growled. "It doesn't. It just pumps your adrenaline through the roof."

Crow blinked, confused.

"It makes you feel invincible. But it burns fast… and once it fades…"

Bunnyman landed a roundhouse kick that sent Mr. Crow tumbling across the street.

"…your body will break under its own weight."

For the first time, Bunnyman looked like the one in control.

For the first time… he looked like he could win.

But victory doesn't come easy in Devil's Side.

Mr. Crow stood up—slowly, angrily—and without a word, lunged.

And suddenly, everything turned.

A jab to Bunnyman's jaw. A punch to his gut. A brutal slam into a wall.

"You figured out the trick," Mr. Crow said, breathing heavy. "But knowing it isn't enough."

The tables had turned. Again.

Bunnyman tried to fight back, but Mr. Crow was faster now, more vicious. He wasn't fighting smart—he was fighting like a monster.

Within seconds, Bunnyman was back on the ground, coughing blood.

His thoughts blurred. His body failed him.

"I'm not strong enough…"

Then… something began to shift.

The shadows around him started to move.

Creeping shapes, tendrils of black smoke, started to slither from the alleys and crawl across the pavement.

Eyes blinked open in the darkness—cold, inhuman, wide.

Bunnyman looked up… and saw them.

Shadows takes the shape of huge scary monsters.

Silent. Watching. Growing.
