Chapter 293 - Like Mother, Like Son

Meanwhile, on Imono Island, Lilith said, "Well, that was a nice training session."

Liebe said, "Yeah. Now I'm starving. Want to grab an Ignisaurous Rex from Valhala Island?"

Lilith said, "Sure! Even though I'm not a fan of the hard meat."

Liebe said, "That's easy. You gotta let it soak in vinegar for a day, then grill it. That's when the brisket becomes nice and good."

Lilith said, "Believe it or not, back in the day when I was a student, I used to eat those briskets at least once a day. It went so far that the Ignisaurous actually had to evolve to make their meat poisonous so that I couldn't eat them anymore."

Liebe said, "So what happened next? Did you stop?"

Lilith said, "Of course not! I just got food poisoning for a week. Then it got to my ego that they were trying to stop me from eating them, so I took it upon myself to continue eating them. After about a day or so of eating, I became immune to their poisonous flesh, and I continued to cause their population to decline. Why else do you think they're now the apex predator besides Kera in Valhala Island? At one point, whenever I would find them, they would literally sacrifice one of their own for me and just give it to me."

Liebe said, "Wow. Somehow they gained intelligence to sacrifice their own?"

Lilith said, "I know, it was hilarious. Like, they would literally sacrifice one of them, and by the time I fired up the grill, the entire pack would have run off by then. And the funny thing is, people thought I wasn't eating in the cafeteria because I was on a diet or something."

Liebe said, "When did all of this happen, exactly?"

Lilith said, "About three months before my first-year finals. So, like eight months. Gelda would drag me back, so snacking on them became a bit rare, and she would yell at me about extinction, etc., etc., and something about me causing the apex predator to be endangered. It was all BS, really."

Liebe said, "That might just be the most inspirational story I've ever heard. Tell me another one."

Gelda made a portal and came through. As she said, "Great. An idiot teaching another idiot—just what this world needed. And Lord, I understand you two are trying mother-son bonding, but this bonding doesn't require causing the extinction of a species of monstrous, 100-meter-tall, burning apex predators."

Liebe said, "What, really? How?"

Lilith said, "Yeah, I doubt she knows what she's talking about."

Liebe said, "Same."

Gelda said, "And how do you plan on eating a 100-foot monster alone?"

Lilith said, "Easy—by biting into it."

Liebe said, "If we want to treat my dorm and share with everyone, how many do we need?"

Lilith said, "Counting myself, Isurugi, Licht, Alysa, Gaia… I think about ten."

Gelda said, "No, you don't. Even one is enough to feed a village for months."

Lilith said, "It's that easy to solve world hunger, huh? Who knew?"

Liebe said, "I know, right."

Gelda said, "God, please bless this child and don't let his tiny, tiny brain be corrupted by this brainless brute of a mother."

Lilith said, "Hey, I'm right here!"
