Chapter 97 - Eyes of the Savior

Darel said, "Be careful what you ask for—you might just get it. Now… Titanium Magic: Summon Holy Relic—Zeus's Gift!"

A pair of gauntlets fell to the ground. Darel moved super fast, punching Liebe and knocking him into a wall.

"Done," Darel said.

Liebe emerged, grinning. "Now that was fun. To show my respect to you, I won't use my dual swords. Instead, I'll use gauntlets of my own."

"You can't be serious," Darel said.

Licht smirked. "Ohhhh… he is."

Liebe said, "Dark Magic: Dark Gauntlet."

Darel chuckled. "Good to see you at least have a backbone."

Liebe walked up to him. "That was some punch. Titanium Magic truly has a sting. Now take one from me—Dark Magic: Dark Gauntlet Strike!"

He punched Darel, blasting him with darkness. Darel was sent crashing through three walls.

Watching from a distance, a girl asked, "Who is Darel fighting?"

"I don't know, my lady," someone replied. "It seems Lord Darel is fighting a freshman."

"Who do you think is stronger—me or that freshman, Alaina?"

Alaina replied, "Of course you, my lady Yuna. But it's surprising to see Lord Darel, an admiral, being pushed back. That's rare."

Yuna said, "Let's see how this plays out. I hope my schedule isn't too packed for this."

Alaina smiled. "Not at all, my lady."

Darel got up, bleeding from his forehead. "You really are a man… your darkness—it's pure, alright. But let's finish this."

Liebe grinned. "Alright. Dark Magic: Dark Strike!"

Darel responded, "Titanium Magic: Titanic Strike!"

Their beams clashed.

"Do you think it'll be a tie, ma'am?" Alaina asked.

Yuna shook her head. "No, it won't. Darel has already lost."

"Eh? How?"

As their attacks collided, Liebe's proved stronger. Just as it was about to finish Darel, Yuna was about to step in—when Gelda appeared.

"Spatial Magic: Astral Gate!" she called, using her portal to divert the attack.

Liebe rushed to Darel. "I'm so sorry. I didn't think my attack would do that."

"Why are you apologizing?" Darel asked.

"It felt like the right thing to do."

Darel froze, remembering a moment from his past—when Lilith apologized after she and Black Rose failed to save their village. He remembered her tearful face… and shed a tear himself.

"Lord… you really are the heir. The one who is worthy."

Liebe extended his hand. "Grab it."

Darel took it and stood. "I'm sorry, Lord, for my disrespect."

"So… do you acknowledge me as the true heir?"

"Yes, I do."

Darel thought, He has the same eyes… the same aura as the savior who showed me the path to truth. Now I understand my role in this generation.

Liebe waved a hand. "Yo, dude, you okay? You kinda spaced out."

Gelda smirked. "Looks like the young lord isn't going to die so soon."

"What are your orders, my lord?" Darel asked. "Do you want my rank? My room? My status? Ask, and it's yours."

Liebe laughed. "Cool it, dude. I just got here. Plus, when I come for your rank, I want to take it in a duel. For now, get me something to eat—I'm starving."

"Understood, sir."

"Umm… you do know you outrank me, right?"

"My apologies."

Meanwhile, one of the girls whispered, "He really is the heir."

Another whispered, "He really has elegance… To think a half-breed like him would be the heir… but I suppose even the gods sometimes make mistakes."

A third whispered, "Don't act like you can talk to him first, freshman. Even if you joined our fan club."

Gelda said, "Lord, we should be going."

"Alright then," Liebe replied.

Darel asked, "Should I tell the chefs to keep your food warm at the cafeteria, or have it delivered to your dorm?"

"No need," Liebe said.

"Understood, Lord."

Licht smirked. "Not even here for an hour and already replacing Gelda. Darel—Lord's new official guard here, succeeding the Distortion. It will be an honor."

Liebe blinked. "Wait, what now?"

Gelda sighed. "Now that's tragic. What should I do now?"

Licht laughed. "Damn."
