Chapter 4 - Journey to Leader : Beginning

Nakul " Ooo! Buddy, wait a second. I think you are moving very fast."

Grandfather" What"?

Nakul "You forget to mention Archana."

John, "Archana, who is she?"

Nakul, "Ask with your grandfather."

(John with a teasing expression)

John: "Grandfather, who is she?"

Grandfather, "She is nobody. "Hey, buddy, don't interrupt my flow by saying anyone's name."

Nakul " Oooh! Really, you don't know who she is. "Wait a second."

(Nakul went to another room and brought some old letters.)

Nakul "Look at here. Now I will read this letter, and then you will remember about her."

Grandfather, "Come here."

(Grandfather tried to snap the letter but was unable to snap it).

Nakul "Let me read these letters, or you will say something about her."

Grandfather " Ok. She was my crush."

Nakul" Only crush"?

Grandfather, "Shut up. I saw her during our college. She was 1 batch senior to us. She was very beautiful, and she loved to wear simple clothes with open hair. One day, by accident, we met at my friend's birthday, and we had a conversation. We become good friends. As time passed, she became very close. Our relation continued till war. So, keeping his stupid love story aside, can we continue our story?

John: "Sure, you can continue."

Grandfather, " Velmora attack and again the same panic situation was created in our country. The colonel arranged a meeting, and in that meeting he asked, 'Who wants to lead a team in Kahanzu to control the situation and defend our country?'

We both raised our hands, but the colonel denied us. We asked the colonel, 'Sir, why did you deny sending us to war?' And Colonel replied, 'You both are the sons of ex-colonel Tim, and he is my teacher and idol, so I can't keep my idol's sons at any kind of risk. At night we talked with Father, but he agreed and, additionally, said to bring the bravery medal with you.

Nakul "Nah! He said, "About the medal and the head of the leader who was leading 5000 soldiers."

(John with a surprised expression)

John "Ooh! A head of the leader. It sounds so scary."

Grandfather, "Personally, our father had a conversation with the colonel."

John, then. Did He allow you to go to war?

Grandfather, "Our father was a role model and idol for him, so he can't deny his words and request. But Archana requested me to avoid this war. I was straight forward about my goal due to the fact that we had a breakup, and later on, I got to know that she got married to a doctor. Now also I remember his name.

Gems, "What was his name?"

Grandfather, "His name was Deepak. Oooh! Sorry, a husband of Archana, Dr Deepak Baitha.

Nakul "A love-lorn one with a broken heart."

Grandfather, "We made some strategic decisions where we attacked him from 3 sides by making 3 teams. Team A was led by me, and the name of Team A was Brown K. . Team B was led by Hookwood, and the name of Team B was Black T. . Team C was led by Nakul, and the name of Team C was Grey D. . In Sept, 1990, we joined the war to save our Kahanzu.

Basically, the plan was Brown K and Black T would be on the battlefield and Grey D would provide extra support. War started, and on the first day of war, we killed around 120 soldiers of Velmora. Along with that, we also lost 30 soldiers. On day 2 we killed 70 soldiers of Velmora and lost 20 soldiers. Similarly, till 5 days of war we were leading, but on the 6th day. Velmora appoints Sir Michal Clark as a captain to lead the front team in battle, which is the turning point of his story.

Sir Michal Clark was a very dangerous person. He had many years of experience with war, along with knowing how to motivate his soldiers, how to get out of tough situations, and how we can make opponents weak and most important thing i.e. how to win the war.

With his (Sir Michal Clark's) entry, the story and war situation get totally changed. His strategic brilliance and unwavering determination inspired his troops, turning the tide of battle in ways that had seemed impossible just days before. As news of his arrival spread, hope rekindled among the weary soldiers and their families back home. But we are also brave Drevenicans. We fought very well, and there was a tough situation among us. But a tough situation crosses the limit where our troops, like bullets and grenades, get over. Velmora soldiers block all routes for help from Grey D, and we were totally covered by Velmora soldiers. In that time I was scared, and my whole team was scared, but being a leader of that team, I didn't show my scaredness to them. Instead of that, I motivated them with one speech.

Nakul, "I heard about that speech. Pat told me that the speech was so fantastic and that speech gave them motivation to do or die."

John" Sounds good! So can we listen to that speech?"

Grandfather, "The answer is no."

John, "Why?"

Grandfather, "Because I don't remember that speech. I forget it."

Nakul, "But I remember. Pat was there when Bravis was giving a speech, and later he wrote in his diary. I think he also gave one copy, but it takes time to search."

Gems, "Ok, let's search it. I will help you with that."

(Nakul and Gems searched that copy. After a thorough search through the stacks of old diaries and papers, Nakul finally exclaimed, "Here it is! I found the copy of Pat's notes from the speech.")

Grandfather, "Ooh! You got that well done. Now read it."

Nakul, "NO, speech is yours, and we will be happy if you read this again."

(Grandfather takes the copy from Nakul, and he starts to read.)

The speech :

 "The Fire Within"

Brothers! Look around you. Yes—our numbers are few. Yes—our backs are against the wall. But let me tell you something they don't know—

We are not done.

We are not broken. We are not afraid.

The enemy surrounds us, thinking they have won. They see the end. But I see the beginning. I see the moment we will be remembered for. Not for the times we were many—but for the time when we stood as few, and we stood as giants.

Do you hear me?

This is our ground. This is our time. This is our fight.

They may have the numbers, but we have the fire. We have the courage. We have each other. And if this is where we fall—then let us fall like thunder. Let them know we did not kneel. We did not beg. We roared until the very last breath.

I did not come here to surrender.

I did not come here to run.

I came here to fight with you.

I came here to live like warriors or die like legends.

So tighten your grips. Raise your heads. Feel the heartbeat of the man next to you. Because that is not just your brother—that is your reason to stand.

We fight for each other. We fight because we are still here.

We are ready for them.

We are ready to die.

But before we do—they will remember that we made them bleed. They will remember the roar of men who refused to fall silent.

They will remember us.

So stand.

Stand with me.

And let's show them what it means to face soldiers who have nothing to lose, but everything to prove!

Now—

CHARGE!
