Chapter 16 - Joining Forces with Ken

The class continued for two more hours. Rose explained everything she needed to explain for today and left.

Among the thirty students, ten of them left the classroom in a hurry as if they were late for a bus.

Ken also picked up his bag and walked out of the classroom. He tried cultivating in the classroom, but it wasn't as effective as at home.

"Hey Ken, wait for us!"

Maria shouted from inside the class and chased after Ken, together with her sister Aria.

The students in the classroom were stunned and immediately started gossiping.

Some students believed twins were after Ken's money, while others believed they wanted to share the same husband.

But everyone was wrong.

When the twins came out, they immediately spoke next to Ken, and Maria asked.

"Ken, do you want to enter the Hunter Training Area?"

"Hunter Training Area?"

Ken was too busy with his training that he didn't know anything about it. So, he looked confused.

"You don't know? Anyway, the Hunter Training Area is a reserved area spreading over hundreds of kilometers. Because of its large area, many Monster Beasts gather there."

"If we manage to catch a monster, we can bring them back and sell them. We know you don't care about money, but Aria and I believe you would love to join a battle."

Maria quickly explained as they kept walking out of the school.

Ken couldn't help but look at the twin sisters with a weird gaze.

"Are you kidding? Even if I want to fight, I would fight someone at my level. I haven't even reached the first Stage of the Body Tempering Realm."

Hearing that, Aria explained.

"We don't plan to go today. Since the start of the cultivation class, we have barely been together in the class. We don't have your contact number either."

"It is dangerous to visit the Hunter Training Area alone. So, once we reach the First Stage, we can go together and hunt a lot of monsters. We need money to support our cultivation."

"Yesterday, we learned about the Hunter Training Area, where different parts of the area hold different levels of Monster Beasts. As long as we stay in the outermost area, we can hunt a lot of monsters."

"If you think we are taking advantage of you, you are right. So, whatever we hunt, we will divide it in half."

Hearing that, Ken paused for a moment as he felt pity for his teammates.

Resources and money were extremely important in this world, especially for a cultivator.

Without enough resources, no matter how talented a person might be, they would stop after reaching a certain stage.

For twins, money mattered even more. After all, they were barely surviving on subsidies provided by the government.

If they wanted a Spell, they had to earn money. As cultivator, they didn't want to do the normal job unless they had no other option.

But the hunting monsters was a good option. Until they could become a full-fledged hunter or a false hunter, they could earn money by hunting monsters.

Unlike creatures from Seven Worlds, Monster Beasts were originally animals living on Earth.

Unlike humans, the first monster gained the ability to absorb Natural Energy by killing a creature from Seven Worlds and eating its flesh and blood.

This mutated its blood, and this process was replicated by several other animals.

Not only did they get stronger, but they also became intelligent. But their intelligence would be controlled by their desire at the beginning.

Unless they reached a certain realm where they could control their desire, they would simply become a beast.

The first monster that ate the flesh of the creature quickly rose to power by hunting more of them while hiding from powerful creatures.

Until he gained enough intelligence to understand his situation. Then, he led monsters to hunt for more creatures while hiding them.

He waited until humans got powerful enough to repel those creatures. It wasn't that he didn't want to conquer the world.

Although he gained intelligence, power corrupted his mind. But that intelligence was enough to help him understand the situation of Monster Beasts.

Unlike humans, they needed to spend a lot of time cultivating in order to grow some level of intelligence.

This meant he couldn't ask those newly awakened monsters to hunt down humans.

Instead, he repelled those creatures together with humans and argued for a piece of land for his race, calling himself Mythical Creature and his race Mythical Beasts.

But in the eyes of humans, they were simply monsters.

Especially those at the lower ranks, they couldn't even think.

On Earth, there were twenty S-Rank Hunters and ten Mythical Creatures. These ten creatures were equal in power to the strongest of the twenty S-Rank hunters.

Ken didn't understand why Mythical Creatures would let humans kill those monsters.

What he didn't know was that when monsters eat humans, they also eat Astral Beings inside them.

The body of an Astral Being was a treasure in the eyes of monsters. That's why Mythical Creatures allowed humans to kill those low-ranking monsters.

If any of those monsters could kill humans and eat them, they would gain tremendous growth in strength, allowing them to surpass most humans instantly.

Ken thought about the twins' purpose for a moment before nodding in agreement.

Although he could rely on his parents for resources, he ultimately didn't want that.

Not because he felt dependent, but rather because his father needed a lot of resources to reach S-Rank.

The amount of resources required to train an S-Rank could train at least ten to fifteen A-Rank hunters.

That's why it was taking his father such a long time to enter the King's Realm and become S-Rank.

Unlike in the past, only those who had reached the King Realm could become S-Rank.

In the past, there were nine people, the founders of the Warlock Association, who were granted the title of S-Rank because of their fame and strength.

While they might not have reached the King Realm, they were almost invincible below the King Realm and could fight weaker King Realm cultivators.

From the remaining eleven King Realm cultivators, five were lucky enough, or rather talented enough, to reach King Realm in a single go.

These five were the people who challenged a powerful dungeon, and after crossing the dungeon, they encountered a teleportation array and went to the cultivation Holy Ground.

Ken didn't know what it was. His mother didn't explain it to him. She only said that because of the strange liquid and atmosphere of that world, five of them managed to reach the King Realm.

In other words, only six people reached the King Realm within three centuries.

Two cultivators each century.

Most potent resources were delivered to the most talented people in the world, and despite that, only two of them managed to reach the King Realm in each century.

These resources were brought from seven worlds.

Humanity shed the blood of hundreds of thousands of people to get these resources, and they could only produce two King Realm cultivators.

This just made him realize just how difficult it was going to be to surpass his mother.

Because of this, he decided not to rely on his parents' resources but to rely on his chances and encounters to gain more resources.

So, the idea of entering the Hunter Training Area was extremely alluring to Ken.

"Okay! We will divide the loot based on our contribution. If both of you manage to contribute enough, we will split it in three; if not, we will split it in half."

Ken nodded his head and agreed.

His words stunned the twins. They realized that Ken was trying to help them without showing any pity.

They couldn't help but feel happier.

After all, if they wanted more resources, they could try unconventional methods, but these methods were disgusting to them.

They didn't want to beg for resources either, as they didn't want others to pity them.

They wanted to fight for their resources, so they asked Ken.

They wanted to split everything in half because they knew Ken was from a powerful family and could afford spells.

Once he reached the first stage, he could use those spells in battle, making their fights easier.

So, they didn't want Ken to think that he was doing all the work while two of them were just following him for resources.

They were also afraid that if they tried to split the resources into three parts, Ken would reject them or ask for something much worse in return.

They didn't think Ken was lustful or a bad person, but they had seen too many bad people.

So when Ken pitched his idea, they immediately agreed.

"Thank you so much, Ken! We will do that."

"Good!"

Ken nodded as he walked towards his home. His house was in another direction, so they were separated soon.

Before that, he stopped and gave them his contact number with some advice.

"You don't need Spiritual Energy to master Momentum. You just need a strong belief and temperament in what you want to master."
