The entire mass of the audience, at the stadium or watching over the internet, Pro Heroes of UA or otherwise, and students all over Japan gawked at the unbelievable, ridiculous sight.
On their screens, they saw a six-barreled, electric, rotary machine gun, the likes of which they had only seen mounted on military vehicles in the movies, raining bullets at a rate of over 2500-3000 rounds per minute!
An even more ridiculous sight was the person using this weapon.
It was Momo Yaoyorozu, her face squinting and glowing behind the flashes of fire and smoke coming out of the machine gun.
They had already seen her using a sniper, but… wasn't that an exception?!
Unknown to many, Momo had learned to create guns quite early in her life.
Her Quirk Training Camp, which her father had arranged for her a year before joining UA, had covered a plethora of weapons, including handguns, shotguns, and rifles… going as far as her learning to create bazookas and cannons.
And such targeted training had only one purpose.
To turn Momo into the ultimate Support-type Pro Hero the world had ever seen!
Even in those times, the Yaoyorozu family had begun capitalizing on her Quirk, knowing how easily and quickly Momo could help not only Pro Heroes but also the police and military.
That's how they had secured a recommendation seat for Momo at UA, to begin with.
Momo had never doubted her family's decision before. In fact, she had truly believed that the path her family had chosen for her was the best way to serve the world.
However, with time, Momo had begun feeling… left out.
With that feeling, came a cruel reality.
It didn't matter if she could create hundreds of weapons, Momo had realized.
All that mattered was how well she could personally put those weapons to use.
A small part of her had already accepted that realization even before the Training Camp.
That's why she had started working on Grenades, hoping to take an active spot on the field.
But it was the matter with All For One, her meeting with Luke at the hospital, and later the Ultimate Move training that had pushed Momo's psyche beyond the point of no return.
In the last few days leading up to the Sports Festival, she had practiced heavily with a sniper.
However, Momo hadn't forgotten how quickly the situation could worsen on the field.
She wasn't ready to use handguns.
She wasn't strong enough to use shotguns.
Cannons and Bazookas were out of the question because of their slow rate of fire and how quickly they drained stamina out of her.
But if she wanted to make sure that she was prepared for any situation, Momo needed a trump card as well — an Ultimate Move!
And that's where this machine gun came into the picture, powered by a battery.
It couldn't sustain such a high rate of fire for more than a minute.
The battery wouldn't last for over five minutes, either.
But, as if fate had sided with her today, the restrictions didn't bother her as they would have in any event other than the Battle Royale.
The battery wouldn't last for long, but it would surely last longer than the Timer ticking overhead.
The space was limited, letting her swivel the machine gun to cover the entire region.
The students were injured and already on their last breaths, and had nowhere to hide to defend themselves.
Moreover, the bullets themselves were hard-shelled rubber.
They were the easiest to create and wouldn't kill.
But… they wouldn't tickle, either.
…
Momo knew who the greatest threat to her victory would be.
There were four in particular.
First, it was Luke and Nyx.
However, she had spied him walking around in the city, wearing orange-black armor. Which meant he wasn't using Raven in the Battle Royale. And she didn't know about the others, but she knew Luke well enough to know that if he hadn't used Raven by now, then he wouldn't be using it later, either.
Sniping him would have given away her position, as, with the armor, it was hard to tell if she would have succeeded in knocking him out.
Anyway, for the time being, she could scratch him off the list.
Then, second, it was Midoriya.
She had no idea how he had managed to survive.
Momo remembered aiming at his chest with the sniper.
However, coincidentally, Midoriya had lifted his hand at the same time, and the bullet struck his wrist, probably breaking it.
He might be a problem, but not too soon.
It was the remaining two boys who could be a headache.
Todoroki, who could end her plans using his long-range attacks, and Bakugo, who would come right at her, especially now that he had an upgraded Hero Costume.
So, forgetting that anyone else existed in the central region, Momo concentrated all her fire… on the two, visibly exhausted and injured boys.
Insanely loud, rattling BANGS rang out as Momo pointed her machine gun right at Todoroki.
The sudden onslaught had already caught him off guard, as all his attention was focused on Bakugo, Luke, and Midoriya.
The moment Momo rained hell upon him, all Todoroki could do was instinctively put a wall of ice between himself and her.
Sadly, the hard-shelled rubber bullets were blunt, but they possessed enough power to burst right through the ice wall.
Then, even as Todoroki's face paled and he poured out an insane amount of ice from his right side, some of the hundreds of bullets… hit him anyway.
Bakugo, who had been fighting Todoroki all this while with everything he had, saw an unbelievable scene in slow motion.
Todoroki's leg buckled as a bullet hit him.
Then, two bullets hit him on the hand and his side.
Then, six bullets hit him across his chest, hands, and waist, forcing him to turn around.
A glacier of ice threatened to explode out of him, becoming a defensive mountain against the bullets.
But the rate of fire and their power were so great that Todoroki couldn't even focus on anything as his back gave out, the bullets burying him in the earth right where he had been standing.
The slow-motion scene ended.
For a fraction of a second, the bullets stopped raining.
Suddenly, a chill ran down Bakugo's spine as he brokenly looked to his left and found…
… Momo looking right back at him through the smoke as she pressed the trigger!
