Chapter 214 - Apostles, Claws, and Radiants!

In the Control Room at the Central Tower, surprisingly, everyone was still awake, despite the heaviness upon them.

Before making a move, the Warden had let Leya know through the Smartwatch, as per the standard procedure.

Other than her, no one knew that there was no Spatial Barrier at the Detention Center, and it was a part of the Warden's Quirk.

So, getting his signal, she had activated Zero Gravity in the Control Room instantly, which canceled out the normal gravity.

However, as Alex's long-range Spatial Barrier increased the gravity to 3.6g, it still left the people in the Control Room with 2.6g.

Because of the Operators and Leya's special training, they had trained their bodies to bear this load for a few minutes.

"… Do it…" Leya ordered, grinning. "Initiate the… Lockdown Procedure…"

The operator slowly reached out and… tapped Enter.

Bakugo felt a rush in his body.

It was heat… but much stronger… and calmer.

The heaviness trying to pin him down to the earth was unbearable, but as he kept taking steps, the heat kept rushing to his feet, as if countering that weight.

If someone were to tell him that such a thing would happen to him before he had gone to sleep tonight, he would have called that person an idiot.

Now, despite the reality screaming at face, it still felt unbelievable.

He didn't know exactly how the Dream Walker had brought him to the other side of the world… to America. It was some kind of Dreamscape… Dreamspace-based teleportation.

The only thing that Bakugo remembered experiencing was leaving the Dreamspace.

Then, out of nowhere, this old man had grabbed the two of them and had brought them here.

Bakugo would have exploded the beard out of the old man's face if he hadn't seen the Nomu… getting pulverized.

Then, the weight had fallen upon him.

Bakugo still didn't understand what was going on. Not truly. But he could comprehend the gist of it.

If Nomu was here, and the old man and Dream Walker were fighting against it, then certainly he wasn't on the Villains' side, right?

It was that simple.

And as Bakugo walked up the crater, step by step, gritting his teeth, he knew he had guessed it right —

— seeing Stain, Shigaraki, and Kurogiri getting up far from him.

[Are you ready?] Singularity asked, becoming a mote of blue light in his vision that only he could see. [Be careful…]

"Haha…" Bakugo laughed. "Shut up!!!"

Letting out crackling explosions from the palm of his hands, Bakugo shot forward toward the Villains.

"Oi-Oi…" Alex saw the boy becoming a jet and exclaimed. "Didn't you say that he just awakened his Quirk?!"

[… The Radiant of Explosions is… different.] Singularity explained. [Just like you are a natural-born fighter, he also has his… battle instincts.]

"You really swindled a good one, huh?" Alex smiled, letting out a puff.

[…]

Suddenly, something stirred under Alex's feet. With an alarm, and as he was not affected by the increased gravity at all, he rushed to grab the Dream Walker, who was passed out cold.

The punch came much faster, though.

A black fist landed on Alan's face, crumbled the cigar, and sent him flying up the crater.

With a flap of its wings, the regenerated Near High End Nomu caught up to Alex midair as if gravity didn't influence it, too.

Raising its massive fists, as Alex barely put his hands up, the Nomu slammed them down.

Boooooooooooooooooooooom!!

Despite the increased gravity, it took Bakugo only moments to reach them, leaving behind a trail of explosions.

On the other side, Stain, Shigaraki, and Kurogiri weren't faring any better, either.

They had no idea that there was someone at the Detention Center who could rival the Near High End Nomu.

To top it off, just as they got their bearings and stood up with wobbling knees, fire appeared in their eyes, grinning like a demon.

"Shigaraki!" the demon roared.

A chill ran down Shigaraki's spine, his hand defying all logic as it snapped up, reaching out to crumble the demon.

"Gotcha!" Bakugo's grin widened.

All the explosions suddenly died, and he slapped away Shigaraki's palm, turning around midair as if he was weightless and… putting his bare, right foot on Shigaraki's face.

Bakugo's red eye left a burning, blue stare on Shigaraki's shocked face as he hissed. "… Die…"

And… the same sweat that oozed out from his palms, resulting in explosions, oozed out from his sole, too — in a much grander quantity.

BOOOOOOOOOM!!!

Sirens rang all over the Detention Center, painting the walls red.

The Metallic Collars around the top-tier prisoners' necks injected the Quirk Suppression Drugs instantly, sending them to sleep.

Giant, room-sized, spider-like armored drones flooded the entire Detention Center from Inner to Outer Zones, unaffected by the gravity.

Anything that walked into their vision would be put down.

That's why the USA government had staffed the entire facility with Quirkless people.

Temporary losing consciousness wouldn't matter to trained soldiers, and, if any Villains were hiding as guards, then they would be put down as well.

That's why the Motto of LA Villains Detention Center had always remained a baffling controversy among the US citizens — Kill All to Kill Few!

In Dr. Sam's cell block, Luke held Nyx in his arms, trying to lift 360 kg of weight alone.

Becoming a Beyonder of three Pathways had granted him great strength, but getting used to such a drastic increase in gravity would take time — time that Nyx didn't have.

Gravity seemed to have increased, but it was unnatural and inconsistent, clear by both him and Nyx experiencing the same quantity of weight. Between the almost 350-400 kg of weight and Luke trying to prevent her from getting buried under it, she was getting crushed.

As if this wasn't a disaster enough, before Luke could activate the Gravity Cancel Quirk he had bestowed upon her just now, a shadow loomed over them, a set of red eyes staring at them from outside.

Luke's heart gave away, his Danger Intuition shooting to the roof. He pulled his head back, and a syringe traced a cyan path, missing his neck.

Nyx… wasn't as lucky as him.

The syringe hit her like a bullet and —

— injected all the Quirk Suppression Drug, sending her to sleep.
