Hoopa Unbound writhed in agony within the magma. He enjoyed pranks and others' suffering, but not his own.
The golden rings trembled in the night sky, and the five controlled Legendaries simultaneously let out pained roars. Abandoning Shiny Rayquaza, they rushed to support Hoopa Unbound.
The Temporal and Spatial Deities arrived first, their psychic blades slicing through the clouds. Kyogre's Origin Pulse triggered a tsunami, submerging half the city in seawater, while Zekrom's Glaciate began consuming the last traces of heat from the magma.
However, none of this fazed Groudon. Though their combined powers and divine authorities far surpassed his, they were under control and could only utilize half their strength at best. Moreover, after Primal Reversion, Groudon's power wasn't just a simple surge—it was an overwhelming transformation.
"Desolate Land!"
Come forth!
Magma erupted from Groudon's back like a volcanic explosion, intercepting the five incoming attacks. Kyogre's assault irritated him the most, but without Primal Reversion, Kyogre couldn't withstand the scorching heat of Desolate Land.
The Legendaries activated their abilities, and the entire city seemed bathed in daylight, as if the true sun had descended.
The controlled beasts charged forward relentlessly, surrounding Groudon. They opened their mouths, gathering energy.
Taking advantage of the chaos, Hoopa Unbound fled, his malicious face twisted with rage. He abandoned even Rayquaza, focusing solely on attacking Groudon alongside the other beasts.
In the distance, Hoopa Confined and Ash's group were stunned. Wasn't this their battle?
But Hoopa Unbound had long forgotten them. His greatest enemy now was Groudon, who dared to fight back.
"Hahahaha!"
Hoopa Unbound laughed maniacally, attempting once again to control Groudon. The other beasts continued charging their energy, waiting to see whether Hoopa's attempt would succeed or fail.
"You laugh like a hyena!"
Golden light radiated from Groudon's eyes. Despite his anger, he remained calm, thanks to Gu La's soul. Their connection strengthened their mental willpower, making it nearly unbreakable.
A stroke of inspiration struck him. He slammed his left leg into the ground.
"Precipice Blades!"
This time, the move carried sword intent, merging with his Gravity Control skill. A dazzling willpower blossomed, creating beautiful yet deadly flowers.
Gravity Sword Intent!
The five Legendaries instantly felt gravity increase a hundredfold, plummeting from the sky. The sword intent conveyed both immense weight and razor-sharp precision, exuding an unstoppable aura.
The earth cracked open, and magma surged.
Agility!
Groudon's claws condensed into colossal rock swords. His towering form moved with unimaginable agility as he charged toward Hoopa Unbound.
Slash! Slash! Slash!
Groudon realized that perhaps due to his signature move, he had an inexplicable affinity for swordsmanship.
A fifty-meter-long sword felt weightless in his hands. With two swift strikes, he shattered Hoopa Unbound's Protect.
"What a cool Groudon!"
Ash cheered from afar, then puzzledly asked, "But what moves is Groudon using? Why doesn't the Pokédex recognize them?"
No one answered him. Everyone was too stunned by the sight of Groudon wielding a sword with such precision, afraid to blink lest they miss a moment.
Hoopa Unbound used its golden rings to escape, watching Groudon's display of power with growing fear. It didn't want to be sealed away again.
Suddenly, it noticed Rayquaza observing the battle with interest in the distance. A wicked grin spread across its face. Taking advantage of Rayquaza's distraction, it teleported above it and slipped the golden ring meant for Groudon onto Rayquaza's head instead.
The airflow around black Rayquaza's tail surged violently, and emerald patterns flowed between its scales. It spiraled past Groudon's head, struggling fiercely.
But this time, Hoopa Unbound learned from its mistakes. It poured all its strength into the effort, channeling Ghost-Type energy through its six arms to enhance the golden ring's control over Pokémon.
Rayquaza roared, trying to Mega Evolve to break free, but Hoopa Unbound's control over Legendaries wouldn't falter so easily.
Not every Pokémon was like Groudon—cheating with external advantages.
Finally, Rayquaza stopped resisting and fell completely under control.
Hoopa Unbound laughed triumphantly, ordering Rayquaza to attack Groudon.
Out of the corner of his eye, Groudon noticed Rayquaza in the distance. Though he could now fly, his true strength lay on the ground. Dealing with Rayquaza would be troublesome, but it was also an opportunity.
Under immense pressure, Groudon and Gu La's souls merged, their thoughts united. The sword intent grew even more radiant.
Suddenly, the earth shook violently. The molten ruins of buildings floated eerily, forming a crimson star ring that orbited Groudon. The volcanic patterns on his back erupted with a brilliance surpassing the sun, and each piece of magma armor restructured itself into a molten body.
Magma Immortal Body!
Elementalization was harder for Legendaries, but Groudon, standing on the earth, never lacked energy.
Under Hoopa Unbound's control, Rayquaza unleashed its ultimate move immediately. Its entire body accelerated, weaving through the air with a Dragon Dance!
Dragon Ascent!
Groudon stood ready, halting his attacks on the Legendaries. In the fated battles of the Hoenn trio, Rayquaza always defeated Groudon and Kyogre with Dragon Ascent. This time, Groudon intended to reverse fate.
The rings of Punishment suddenly shifted direction. Once control ended, the golden rings became free-floating. Six rings overlapped into a cage, binding Groudon in place.
But Groudon showed no fear. In the Pokémon world, even ordinary Pokémon rarely died, let alone a Legendary like him. Otherwise, Hoopa Unbound wouldn't have had the chance to wreak havoc.
"So be it!"
The entire city's leyline network appeared vividly in his mind. Infinite earth energy converged, and a three-hundred-meter magma pillar erupted from the ground—not targeting Hoopa, but piercing precisely beneath the feet of the five controlled Legendaries.
"Come at me!"
"Roar!!!"
Black Rayquaza seized the fleeting opening. Its slender body traced an Ω-shaped trajectory in the air before launching forward like a bolt.
(T/N: Raw had 'Ω' and yes I know Rayquaza is Delta but who flies in a triangle?)
Simultaneously, magma erupted from Groudon's back, and golden-red magma surged upward, colliding with the 'meteors' to form a fire tornado that pierced the heavens.
The Rings of Punishment trembled under the combined divine power, seemingly trying to flee. Hoopa Unbound panicked, attempting to recall the rings, but found them all frozen in the magma and airflow.
Hoopa wasn't skilled in combat—that's why it relied on controlling Legendaries. Now, amidst the aftershocks of the two Legendaries' clash, it was like a small boat in a storm.
Gu La's form seemed to overlap with Groudon's. Martial soul and beast essence merged as he roared, "Who do you think we are!?"
The roar seemed to emanate from the depths of the earth. Groudon clasped his claws together, compressing the city's leyline energy into a crimson-golden giant sword. When this Desolate Land-infused Precipice Blades descended, people saw a crack in the night sky, flowing with molten lava!
Earth Sword Soul, complete!
