"I am ready to leave with you," Hades said at last, his voice steady.
For the first time, the stoic woman's face shifted—her lips curved into a faint smile.
"But," he added.
Her smile faltered, and her eyes flickered with unease, though she gave a respectful nod.
"I still have unfinished business here. I'll remain in the human realm a little longer. You can meet me in Bavech… ten days from now."
Her brows knit together. "But, Young Lord, it's dangerous. The more dragons learn of who you are, the more will come hunting for you."
Hades frowned, his tone firm. "For eighteen years I've kept myself alive without anyone's help. Ten more days won't be the end of me—don't you think?"
The woman fell silent, shame softening her expression. At last, she bowed her head. "Forgive my rudeness, my Lord. I will await you in Bavech."
Hades gave a low hum of acknowledgment and turned to leave. But at the flap of the tent, he paused, glancing back over his shoulder.
