When news of the Sacred Demon Palace changing hands first spread, few people believed it. After all, the Sacred Demon Palace was one of the overlords of the Southern Region, having stood strong on the Tianluo Continent for so many years. How could it suddenly collapse without any warning? Although rumors had circulated about a shocking battle near the palace recently, no one had seen Lu Heng's corpse. As long as Lu Heng was alive, the Sacred Demon Palace would remain an untouchable force in the south.
However, disbelief swiftly gave way to shock once the Sacred Demon Palace reopened its gates. People were astonished to find that the grand and imposing gates had changed entirely. The once-familiar statue of an ancient blood flood dragon had been replaced with a strange and towering stone figure, shaped like a massive ruler engulfed in roaring flames.
According to internal sources, the new master of the Sacred Demon Palace disliked the original name and decided to rename it to something new: the Endless Fire Domain. The reason for this change was simple—its new master had slain Lu Heng. Naturally, the palace and its assets fell under his control. The earth-shattering battle that had shaken the region was, in fact, the very moment when the former Sacred Demon Emperor was cut down.
This rising overlord gave himself a title as audacious as his deeds—he called himself the Flame Emperor Xiao Yan. Even when his subordinates reminded him that the title "Emperor" was often associated with the monarchs of the foreign evil races, he simply waved his hand and said, "They're not worthy of using that title."
That declaration stunned everyone on the Tianluo Continent. Whispers began circulating.
"Who is Xiao Yan?"
While the continent constantly produced new talents, and plenty of dark horses had emerged recently, no one had ever heard of someone by that name. Some skeptics even reached out to people from other continents, only to receive the same confused response. There was no such figure known throughout the Great Thousand World. It was as if Xiao Yan had appeared out of thin air.
As a result, some began to doubt the legitimacy of his claim to power. Sure, he killed Lu Heng—but did he do it in a fair duel? Or was it through ambush or scheming? If Xiao Yan was truly powerful, why had no one heard of him before? This uncertainty led to several forces in the Southern Region beginning to stir, though none dared make a move immediately due to lingering caution.
But such calm wouldn't last long.
Less than half a month after the Sacred Demon Palace changed hands, a sect known as the Demon Blade Sect invaded the territory of the newly renamed Endless Fire Domain. Unexpectedly, their entire force was wiped out by the outer defensive spiritual arrays—without even seeing anyone inside.
The spies stationed nearby from other factions were stunned. It was obvious that the protective arrays of the Endless Fire Domain were vastly different—and far more powerful—than the old ones of the Sacred Demon Palace. Based on what they sensed, the person who set up this array was at least a mid-grade spiritual array master!
This revelation triggered a wave of panic among the neighboring powers, prompting them to retreat immediately. Everyone understood the terrifying implications of a prepared spiritual array master. Even if the array master himself wasn't that strong, as long as he remained within the protection of the array, the palace would be a fortress no one could breach.
Not long after this, the Endless Fire Domain released another stunning announcement: it would now officially sell spiritual pills to the public.
Everyone knew that pills were among the most coveted treasures in any domain. Typically, a force that recruited an alchemy master would protect and hoard him like a precious gem. Even if they managed to produce high-quality pills, they'd rarely have enough for themselves, let alone the market. While many forces in the Southern Region had their own alchemists, none had ever dared to commercialize pill sales.
What shocked everyone even more was that some of the pills being sold were master-grade pills—and of exceptional quality, no less. While the prices were high, they were fair for those in need of such rare products. This implied a terrifying truth: someone within the Endless Fire Domain was a master-grade alchemist!
News spread rapidly, and the Southern Region's various factions sent agents in secret to investigate the identity of this mysterious alchemy master, hoping to poach him if possible. But soon, a report circulated—the one refining those master-grade pills was none other than the Flame Emperor himself, Xiao Yan.
In an instant, every faction leader who received the news heaved a sigh of relief. Thankfully, they had only observed from a distance and hadn't acted against him. Otherwise, they would have faced calamity.
If a prepared spiritual array master was enough to make peers cautious, then an alchemy master could command the respect and flattery of every faction. With his recently revealed talents and the identity of a master alchemist, Xiao Yan and his Endless Fire Domain had finally rooted themselves firmly within the Tianluo Continent.
Many of the pill formulas used in his crafting were obtained from the Dragon God's Remains, while others were found in the Sacred Demon Palace's treasury. In the past, Xiao Yan had rarely exposed his identity as an alchemist. Without sufficient strength, he had preferred to remain low-key. But the current situation was entirely different.
Now, he had reached the level of Upper Earth Sovereign. With his current techniques, he could even challenge a Heavenly Sovereign if needed. Not to mention, he had a Heavenly Sovereign-grade puppet under his control. On the Tianluo Continent, he could act without restraint.
Furthermore, he needed to grow his force, and doing so required a tremendous amount of Sovereign Liquid. In addition to pill sales, Xiao Yan was also preparing to sell artifacts. The Xuan Heaven Hall he had brought from the Tianxuan Continent possessed the ability to forge divine artifacts. After reinforcing it with divine forging stones, it had been elevated to the rank of a Saint Artifact.
Though he couldn't yet forge full Saint Artifacts, producing pseudo-Saint Artifacts was more than feasible—and such items were in high demand on the Tianluo Continent.
Of course, Xiao Yan wouldn't be refining pills every day. He had his own matters to tend to, and the Sacred Demon Palace already had its own alchemists. Ordinary pills were handled by them, while Xiao Yan would only step in for master-level recipes.
Although demand for master-grade pills was high, Xiao Yan, who controlled the Heavenly Tomb, had the means to make one day stretch into ten. With such abundant time, he wasn't worried about getting buried in work.
