Chapter 181 - Chapter 181: Chaotic Convergence

After the Fire Flood Saint's tomb was opened, the crowd that had long been waiting outside could no longer restrain themselves and surged through the spatial gate that appeared before them. Faced with the inheritance of a peak Dou Saint, there were few who could maintain their rationality. Only Xiao Yan remained unhurried, flying slowly behind everyone. It was only after confirming that all those with Heavenly Flames in their bodies had entered the spatial gate that he finally revealed a knowing smile.

Upon entering the Fire Flood Tomb, the group encountered some dangers, but their harvests were exceedingly rich. Even in the outer perimeter, they found many eighth-tier pills scattered on the ground like trash. The deeper they ventured, the higher the quality of the pills became. Although they had not yet reached ninth-tier, it was enough to make many eyes go wide with greed.

After all, ninth-tier pills were the privilege of ancient clans' Dou Saint elders. For these so-called "second-generation elites," while their status was high, their strength was typically around the Dou Ancestor level. Normally, being able to consume a seventh-tier pill was already fortunate, let alone encountering these multi-colored eighth-tier pills.

And it wasn't just pills. High-tier Qi Methods and Dou Techniques were practically everywhere. Not long after stepping in, they came across several high Earth Rank techniques. As they advanced, even several Heaven Rank Dou Techniques appeared!

After a brief struggle, these Heaven Rank techniques naturally fell into the hands of members of the ancient clans. By this point, no one doubted that the tomb's owner was a Dou Saint. Who else but a peak Dou Saint could casually leave such treasures lying by the roadside?

After progressing a bit farther, a large pitch-black gate appeared before the group. Behind the gate, an aura like that of a primordial beast leaked out. Feeling the terrifying pressure, everyone's expression shifted.

"Could it be... the remains of the Fire Flood Saint are inside?"

"Let's go!" someone shouted. The crowd didn't hesitate any longer and pushed open the heavy-looking gate. Strangely enough, though it appeared extremely weighty, they managed to open it easily.

As they stepped into the grand hall, they were stunned to discover it was vast and nearly empty. There was nothing but a stone coffin placed at the very center. The terrifying aura they sensed earlier clearly originated from within it.

"Strange..." muttered a veiled woman from the Yan Clan, her brows furrowed as she observed the hall.

"What is it, Huo Zhi?" asked the white-robed man beside her. He was Huo Xuan, known as the strongest among the Yan Clan's younger generation. This mission had been entrusted to him, and he had already secured two Heaven Rank Dou Techniques with his own power.

"Don't you think this Fire Flood Saint's tomb is... too small?" Huo Zhi voiced her concern. "We haven't been inside for even half a day, and we're already at what seems to be the end. And there haven't been any truly formidable guardians. Don't you think this has all been a bit too easy?"

"Miss, have you forgotten those Dou Venerate-level puppets we faced earlier?" asked a red-haired elder nearby, referring to the near-fatal encounter they had earlier.

"Those puppets were indeed powerful, but not beyond our ability to deal with," Huo Zhi replied, shaking her head. "I just feel that a peak Dou Saint's tomb should be far more dangerous than what we've seen."

"You mean... this tomb might be fake? But then how do you explain the Heaven Rank techniques and those eighth-tier pills we've acquired?" Huo Xuan asked hesitantly. He had considered the possibility that this was a trap, but the tangible rewards they'd obtained were difficult to refute. "If this were a fake... it would be far too elaborate."

"That's what I can't figure out either," Huo Zhi sighed. "But something about this place feels off. In any case, we should stay alert. If anything feels wrong, crush your spatial jade slip and retreat immediately."

While the Yan Clan members discussed, others had also turned their gazes to the stone coffin at the center of the hall. The aura within it, one that made even Heavenly Flames tremble, left no doubt as to its owner. Still, no one dared to act rashly—there was too much uncertainty about what contingencies the Fire Flood Saint may have left behind.

"Haha! Looks like the Fire Flood Saint's inheritance belongs to me!" A sudden shout broke the silence as a black-clad figure flew forward, attempting to open the stone coffin. But just as his hands touched the lid, another figure dashed out, landing a single punch that sent the first one flying.

"You think you're worthy of inheriting the Fire Flood Saint's legacy? Dream on!"

"Attack!" someone shouted, and chaos erupted. No one was willing to let another walk away with such a prize. Beams of fierce Dou Qi shot out, instantly reducing the Dou Venerate-level figure to pieces. Simultaneously, more overwhelming auras erupted as combatants surged toward the stone coffin.

"Stop them!" someone else roared. In an instant, countless figures surged forth to intercept those rushing toward the coffin. What followed was an all-out brawl. Even the ancient clans joined in, fully aware of the temptation that a Dou Saint's remains represented.

"Sigh..." Huo Zhi could only shake her head as she watched the Yan Clan members charge forward. She had wanted to caution them, but in the end, she could only join the fray. She and Huo Xuan wielded the strongest Heavenly Flames among those present, and coupled with their high-grade Qi Methods and Dou Techniques, they could just barely hold their own against Dou Venerate-level opponents—especially with the boost of their clan's bloodline markings.

In the chaos, no one noticed that the first man to be sent flying had quietly vanished. That figure—who had struck first—was, of course, Xiao Yan, hiding in the shadows. He had long known that the earlier tranquility was merely a façade. The moment someone shattered that fragile balance, everything would collapse into disarray. He had merely served as the catalyst.

'Fight… fight as fiercely as you like,' Xiao Yan mused as he watched the battlefield descend into mayhem, a faint smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. While it wouldn't be too difficult for him to deal with these people directly, conserving strength was always preferable. Once everyone else had exhausted themselves, it would be time for him to reap the rewards.
