Chapter 39 - Spiraling

"And you, my little wife, are stressing me out to the point I might lose my sanity."

"At least now I can die in peace knowing I can drag out at least one discomfort from you when it comes to me."

"Why do you keep mentioning dying?" Drevon asked with narrowed eyes.

I huffed, turning my gaze away. "You're not a human who is worried about any single thing killing you." I spared him a look. "You're a superior being, you do not need to worry about anything, sickness, death, or fear."

That was the one thing I envied about them; it wasn't fair that their goddess made them so perfect and indomitable.

Drevon sighed, using the handkerchief to clean the corner of my mouth. "We may be superior, Eloise, but even beings like us have things to worry about."

I snorted loudly, so loud it reverberated around the halls like some pig had grunted.

In shock, I slapped a hand on my mouth, shame crawling my skin like spiders.
