Chapter 1 - The Vanishing

Chapter 1: Who Stole the Stars?

[Page 1]

[Panel 1]

Visual: Rain at work. A customer says, "Have a good day."

Rain: You too.

Rain (internal):

Have a good day?

What the fuck is good about a day?

Honestly, what's even good about life in general?

Every second, someone's dying or hurting.

31,536,000 seconds in a year… 9 billion people living…

[Panel 2]

Dawn (off-screen): Rain… Rain… RAIN!!

SFX: PAAAHHHH (Dawn smacks Rain with a rolled-up magazine)

[Panel 3]

Rain: snaps back to reality

Dawn: You see the line, dumbass? People are waiting to pay.

Rain (to customer): You saw that, ma'am? If I report her to HR and you spice up your witness statement, maybe you and I never have to work again.

Dawn: I am HR, bozo! You'd be suing yourself, idiot.

Rain: …Oh yeah.

[Panel 4]

Customer (laughing): You two never fail to make me laugh.

Everyone laughs.

Rain (awkward laugh): Heh heh…

Customer: Thank you, have a good night.

Rain (smirks): You too, ma'am. It's that time, huh?

[Page 2]

[Panel 1]

Dawn: Don't forget to order the new glass pieces. I would, but you never let me.

Rain: Maybe because the last time you ordered, we got 20,000 bongs instead of 2,000.

Dawn: That's not my fault! There were no commas!

[Panel 2]

Flashback: Dawn high as fuck, staring dumbfounded at the screen.

Dawn: Uhh… I think that's right.

Dawn (to her cat): What do you think, Luna?

Luna: Meowww

SFX: "Knock knock" — she accidentally hits "Enter"

[Panel 3]

Rain: You sure you know what you're doing?

Dawn: It ain't rocket science.

Rain: Just be careful. No commas — count your damn zeros.

Dawn: You think I'm a dummy or something?

Rain: Just warning you. Any fuck ups will be docked out of your pay . shrugs and walks away .

[Panel 4]

Dawn smugly closes laptop.

Dawn: Hmph. Nailed it.

[Page 3]

[Panel 1]

Back to present.

Rain (ranting): I warned her too. Count the fucking zeros .this that dumb shit I be talking about.

[Panel 2]

Dawn grabbing her bag, sneaking out.

Rain: You think I forgot about earlier?

Eyes filled with malice

Dawn (internal): Dammit… I fucked up.

[Panel 3]

Dawn: It didn't even hurt that bad!

Rain (rolling up mag): Let's test that theory.

Dawn: Rain… don't fucking play with me .

*tense up from fear*

Rain: Boop.

*SFX: taps her forehead

Rain: Could never hit a woman.

Dawn (blushing): …

[Panel 4]

Rain: Couldn't hit any woman, really.

Dawn (jealous): Sakura punches Rain

Rain: What the hell did I say?!

[Page 4]

[Panel 1]

Dawn exits.

Dawn: Hmph. Idiot.

smirks

[Panel 2]

Rain locks down shop, stretches. Puts in headphones.

Radio DJ (voiceover): Welcome to the night show—

[Panel 3]

Rain ties shoes, looking like a movie character.

From an old lady's POV, he looks crazy.

[Panel 4]

Music kicks in. Rain starts running.

Old lady gasps as Rain sprints off a bridge.

Rain (yelling): WOOOOOOOOOO—

[Page 5]

[Panel 1]

Rain lands on a Tuesday-night delivery truck. Lays on top, staring at the stars.

Rain (internal): Now this… this is peace.

[Panel 2]

Rain jumps from truck onto flagpole swinging his body like a gymnasts . Flashback begins.

[Flashback: Young Rain doing parkour]

Noah: There's nothing wrong with running, Rain.

Just don't forget why you're running.

[Panel 3]

Noah: Run from it or towards it — doesn't make you weak or strong.

Only your reason does.

[Panel 4]

Back to present. Rain leaping across rooftops.

He's headed to a cartel facility disguised as a hotel.

[Page 6]

[Panel 1]

Rain (internal): Most people see fucked up shit and say, "That's sick," then go back to their lives.

Not me.

[Panel 2]

Cut to Dawn at home, looking at a photo of Rain.

Dawn: That man's something else…

That fool would be dead by now if it weren't for me.

But honestly… without him, I wouldn't want to live either.

[Panel 3 - Flashback]

Dawn malnourished in torn clothes, chained in a brothel.

A rich pervert — the Erotophonophiliac boss — approaches.

[Panel 4]

Blood-soaked Rain storms through sex ring, slaughtering guards.

[Page 7]

[Panel 1]

[PAGE 1 — 5 PANELS]

Panel 1 — Dimly lit room. Dawn is pinned to the ground, trembling, bruised, but something burns quietly in her eyes. Fat Fuck towers over her, shirt stained with sweat, his breath loud and disgusting.

FAT FUCK:

"You tryin' not to make noise? That's adorable. Like silence ever saved anyone in here."

Panel 2 — He crouches beside her, sniffing the air near her neck like an animal.

FAT FUCK:

"God, I fuckin' love this part... right before the scream. When your throat's holdin' back hell itself. Makes me hard just hearin' it choke there."

Panel 3 — A faint creak behind him. The doorway is slightly ajar. A silhouette stands there — silent, still. It's Rain.

SFX: creeeak...

Panel 4 — Fat Fuck freezes, halfway through his breath. His neck snaps toward the sound.

FAT FUCK:

"...Who the fuck—"

Panel 5 — Dawn's eyes twitch open. But instead of fear — relief. Something long dead starts breathing again inside her.

DAWN (whisper):

"...finally."

[PAGE 2 — 4 PANELS]

Panel 1 — Rain steps inside the room quietly, katana untouched. His eyes scan everything. Fat Fuck points at him, confused and livid.

FAT FUCK:

"Who the hell even are you?! This ain't your fuckin' business!"

Panel 2 — Rain answers flatly, walking forward without flinching.

RAIN:

"I'm no one important."

"Just someone tired of people like you thinking pain don't have a price."

Panel 3 — Fat Fuck gestures to Dawn, laughing nervously.

FAT FUCK:

"You here for her? She's just some broken little bitch. Crybaby slut who couldn't han—"

Panel 4 — Rain cuts him off. Dead calm. His eyes never leave Fat Fuck.

RAIN:

"I don't understand how people like you think you can fuck with someone over and over... and act surprised when they stop giving a fuck."

"You didn't break her. You built her."

[PAGE 3 — 4 PANELS]

Panel 1 — Rain turns his back to Fat Fuck and begins walking away. Slow. Calm. Confident.

FAT FUCK (off-panel):

"What the fuck are you doing?!"

Panel 2 — Rain stops in the doorway. Doesn't turn around fully — just enough for his voice to carry.

RAIN:

"You must've forgot…"

"I'm not the only one in this room."

Panel 3 — Behind Fat Fuck, Dawn rises like a shadow made of fury. Her fingernails — long, cracked, sharpened — glint under the light. Her face is blank. Her eyes are not.

SFX: shrrrp... (her nails dragging across each other)

Panel 4 — Fat Fuck turns. His eyes go wide in horror.

DAWN (calm):

"Remember me?"

[PAGE 4 — FULL PAGE OR 3 BIG PANELS]

Panel 1 — Dawn lunges at him. Her claws rake across his face — shrrrkkk! Blood flies. His scream is pure terror.

SFX: SHRRRRRRK!

FAT FUCK: "AAAGHH—!"

Panel 2 — Close-up of Rain's face as he leans on the wall outside the room. Eyes closed. Blood still dripping from his earlier wounds.

RAIN (internal):

"She doesn't need a blade... she became one."

Panel 3 — Wide panel — the room is drenched in blood. Fat Fuck's corpse is barely recognizable. Dawn sits on top of him, still clawing, breathing heavy, twitching.

[PAGE 5 — 5 PANELS]

Panel 1 — Rain approaches slowly. He kneels beside her. Gentle voice.

RAIN:

"It's done. You can stop now."

Panel 2 — Dawn trembles, claws still raised. She doesn't hear him. She's gone — still stuck in survival mode.

Panel 3 — Rain carefully reaches for her wrist.

Panel 4 — Dawn snaps, spinning and stabbing her nails into Rain's side — shhlick! Blood pours from the wound.

SFX: SHLICK!

DAWN (screaming):

"DON'T FUCKING TOUCH ME!"

Panel 5 — Rain winces... but doesn't move away. He stays with her.

RAIN (soft):

"It's okay."

[PAGE 6 — 4 PANELS]

Panel 1 — Dawn realizes what she's done. Her eyes widen. Her hand is still buried in his side.

DAWN (whisper):

"I didn't mean to..."

Panel 2 — Rain puts a bloody hand on hers, guiding it gently out.

RAIN (smiling faintly):

"Maybe now we understand each other."

Panel 3 — She stares at him like he's the first person who's ever stayed after touching her pain.

Panel 4 — Rain slumps against the wall. Dawn crawls beside him, exhausted, resting her head on his shoulder. Blood pools beneath them both.

[FINAL PAGE — 3 PANELS]

**Panel 1 — Dawn is on Rain's back now. He's walking through a dark hallway, bleeding, tired — but steady. Her arms are wrapped around him loosely. Her eyes are closed, but peaceful.

RAIN (soft):

"What's your name?"

Panel 2 — Close-up of Dawn resting her head against him. A beat of silence.

DAWN:

"Dawn."

Panel 3 — Wide shot. Rain walks out into the night. Broken. Bloody. Carrying her like a survivor carries a memory.

RAIN:

"...Rain."

Back to present.

[Panel 4]

Camera zooms out from Rain to the moon.

A mysterious figure watches him from the lunar surface.

Mysterious Figure: Interesting…

[Page 9]

[Panel 1 - Flashback: Stargazing]

Rain's Father: You see that, son? The stars… they're talking to us.

Rain: Huh?

Mom: One dreamer's enough.

Dad: Aw c'mon, let me have this.

Rain (mimicking): Let him have it!

[Panel 2]

Father: Some say stars are suns to other Earths.

And each tells a story… if you look close.

Mom: Stop it. smacks him on the neck

*SFX: TUHHHHHHH

Everyone laughs.

[Page 10 – Tragedy Strikes]

[Panel 1 – Wide shot]

Night. Their home is violently invaded by masked intruders.

CAPTION:

Three nights later…

SFX: CRASH!

The front door bursts open.

[Panel 2 – Medium shot]

Rain's father wields his katana with masterful precision, cutting down an attacker near the stairs.

Rain watches silently from a cracked door, eyes wide with fear.

[Panel 3 – Medium shot]

Rain's mother, holding a heavy household object, blocks another intruder in the kitchen, her face fierce and determined.

She swings fiercely, protecting Rain's escape route.

[Panel 4 – Close-up through door crack]

Rain's father fights his way toward Rain's hiding spot.

Blood drips down his arm, but his eyes are steady as he looks toward Rain.

FATHER (weak, urgent):

"Run, son. Find safety. Protect your future."

[Panel 5 – Medium shot]

Rain's mother confronts a masked attacker lunging toward Rain.

She pushes Rain toward the door but is struck down, collapsing with a silent scream.

[Panel 6 – Close-up]

Rain's father catches Rain's hand, pulling him behind a wall.

His other hand holds a small family ring, worn and scratched.

FATHER:

"You'll understand your purpose… You'll protect the world like we protected you."

[Page 11 – Final Stand]

[Panel 1 – Action shot]

The intruder throws a kunai at Rain, but his father intercepts it, taking the blow meant for his son.

With his last strength, he throws his katana — impaling the attacker.

SFX: THUNK!

SFX: AAAGH!

[Panel 2 – Emotional shot]

Rain rushes to his parents, tears streaming down his face.

His mother lies motionless, wounded but breathing faintly.

RAIN:

"Mom! Dad!"

[Panel 3 – Close-up of father, smiling weakly]

Blood drips from his mouth, but his eyes glow with calm determination.

FATHER:

"Look at the stars, son… That's where we'll be."

[Panel 4 – Close-up of mother, barely conscious]

She weakly squeezes Rain's hand.

MOTHER (whisper):

"Be strong… For both of us."

[Page 12 - Back to Present]

[Panel 1]

Dawn (on comms): Rain! RAIN!

Rain: Huh? Shut up, Miss-I-Can't-Count-Zeros.

Dawn: Kekeke…

[Panel 2]

Dawn: Base is a fake hotel. Shady shit starts after Floor 25.

Rain: Makes sense. All the windows go black after 25…

I'm on the roof. Entry point?

[Panel 3]

Dawn: Laundry. Real staff work there.

They disappear afterward though…

[Panel 4]

Rain: No face, no case, huh?

I'm gonna make these fuckers pay.

Dawn: Don't over—

Rain shuts off comms, cranks music.

[Page 13 - Blood Incoming]

[Panel 1]

Rain enters like a guest. Fake accent.

Rain: Hello, I left my suitcase on Floor 26, Room 11.

Receptionist: Ah yes. They'll escort you.

[Panel 2]

Inside elevator. Two women with him.

Worker: Hope you enjoyed Floor 26… "It's to die for."

Rain: Very good yes yes.

Worker: Funny… there are no rooms on Floor 26.

[Panel 3]

Rain: That right?

SFX: GRAB — Rain gets bearhugged.

[Panel 4]

Girl stabs — but Rain moves. Her knife slices her friend.

Rain kicks them into each other.

[Final Panel - Page 14]

Rain (grinning):

It's play time.

Who Stole the Stars?

Chapter 1 (continued)

[Page 14]

[Panel 1 – Elevator: Bloodbath Begins]

Rain elbows one assassin in the throat mid-stab. Her knife drops. He catches it before it hits the floor.

SFX: CRACKKKK

Rain (coldly):

You dumb bitches really thought a smile and an elevator ride would do it?

I was gonna keep it quiet.

[Panel 2 – Reverse POV: Blood splashes onto security camera.]

He jabs the blade upward through the jaw of the taller one. Her eyes roll back as blood pours from her mouth.

SFX: SHHKKKKK

Rain:

But now I'm gonna paint this whole goddamn floor with you.

[Panel 3 – Overhead Shot]

The other assassin lunges at him. Rain lets her get close — then headbutts her nose into mush.

SFX: THUNK

Rain:

You ever fuckin' wonder what it feels like to lose your last teeth, sweetheart?

[Panel 4 – Close-up]

Rain pulls off his belt — but it's a hidden katana. Slick, matte black steel.

SFX: SHIIINNNGGG

Rain:

Let me show you.

[Page 15 – Elevator Door Opens]

[Panel 1]

The elevator dings. Doors open to a sleek hallway… full of armed cartel goons. They stare, stunned, as two bloodied corpses collapse at Rain's feet.

Cartel Goon:

What the fuck—

[Panel 2 – Wide Panel]

Rain walks out of the elevator calm as hell, blood dripping off the blade, shirt stained red.

Rain:

Don't stop the elevator.

I've got more fucks to give upstairs.

[Panel 3 – Gunfire]

Rain bolts forward before they can aim. Blades flash. He slides under a volley of bullets.

SFX: BLAM BLAM BLAM

[Panel 4]

He slashes open one guy's thighs, grabs his pistol mid-fall, and double-taps the two behind him.

Rain:

You fuckers couldn't hit water if you fell out of a boat.

[Page 16 – The Climb and The Fall]

[Panel 1 – Mid-fight chaos]

Rain battles through cartel goons—wounded, bloodied, but relentless.

Cuts and bruises slow him down, sweat and blood drip from his face.

SFX: SLASH — THUD — GRUNT

[Panel 2 – Close-up on Rain's face]

Pain flashes in his eyes as he stumbles, clutching a deep wound in his side.

Rain (thinking):

"Can't… let this stop me…"

[Panel 3 – Wide shot]

Rain finally reaches the boss's lair—massive, intimidating figure waiting, arms crossed, smug smile.

Rain's body visibly weak, breathing heavy.

Boss:

"Well, well… you made it this far."

"But you're just a wounded dog."

[Panel 4 – Brutal assault]

The boss lands a crushing blow, sending Rain crashing into the wall.

Rain's blood sprays, eyes flickering with pain and rage.

SFX: CRACK — SMASH

[Panel 5 – Rain on the ground, grimacing]

Rain struggles to get up, clutching his ribs, unable to summon his full strength.

Rain (grimacing):

"Fuck… I'm not done yet…"

[Panel 6 – Forced retreat]

Rain staggers back, holding his wounds, eyes burning with determination despite the defeat.

Rain (voice low, fierce):

"This isn't over… not by a damn sight."

[Page 17 – Breaking Point]

[Panel 1 – Boss taunts]

Rain lies on the ground, coughing blood, one eye swollen shut. The Boss stands over him, calm, not even winded.

Boss (mocking):

"You came all this way just to die? You're not even worth the bullet."

[Panel 2 – Rain tries to rise]

Rain's hand trembles as he pushes off the blood-slick floor, one knee buckling.

Rain (quiet, hoarse):

"Just… needed to see your face… when I come back for your head."

[Panel 3 – Boss cracks his knuckles]

He walks forward slowly, savoring the moment.

Boss:

"Come back? Motherfucker, you can barely stand."

[Panel 4 – Rain sees the window]

Rain's blurry vision locks onto the massive glass window at the far end of the room. Night wind howling. They're dozens of stories up.

Rain (thinking):

Only one way out…

[Panel 5 – Sudden motion]

Rain sprints toward the window with every last ounce of strength. The Boss yells.

Boss (shouting):

"HEY—WHAT THE FU—"

[Panel 6 – Glass explosion]

Rain throws himself through the window.

SFX: KRRRSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Glass rains down like a storm. Wind howls. A shot of Rain mid-air, blood trailing behind him like ribbons.

[Page 18 – The Fall]

[Panel 1 – Mid-air, back toward earth]

Rain is plummeting backwards, body limp, arms out like he's surrendering to gravity. His blood trails upward into the sky. The ground is miles below.

Narration (Rain's thoughts):

Didn't even get to say goodbye…

[Panel 2 – Wide shot, sky dominates]

Rain's falling figure is dwarfed by the endless night above. His head tilts back, staring upward at the stars.

Narration:

Mom…

Dad…

Hope I made it far enough to reach you.

[Panel 3 – Flashback overlay]

A faint ghost-image of his mother reaching for him. Her face is bloodied. His father stands beside her with his katana, both silhouetted in memory.

Narration:

You gave everything… for me.

And I still couldn't protect anything.

[Panel 4 – Stars shift]

The stars above him shimmer… then begin to flicker—one by one.

Rain (thinking):

What the hell…?

[Panel 5 – Sudden horror]

The stars above don't just flicker—they vanish. Entire constellations go black like someone blew them out.

Rain (wide-eyed):

"…Wait—wait, what the fuck?!"

[Panel 6 – Final shot before blackout]

A close-up of Rain's terrified face, upside down, eyes reflecting the fading starlight. A single tear cuts through the blood on his cheek.

Narration:

They're gone.

Why are they… gone?

[Final Panel – Full black page]

Pure black. No text. No narration. Just emptiness.

[Panel 4 – Cosmic Shift]

Cut to the Moon. That same mysterious figure watches Earth with a glowing third eye on their forehead.

Figure:

He saw it.

The fool made it to the threshold… and now he's bleeding into truth.

TITLE SPLASH: "Who Stole the Stars?"

CHAPTER 2 — "The Ones That Watch in Silence"

[PAGE 1]

[VISUAL]

Pitch black. A cold, surreal silence. Then—

A flicker of flame. A voice echoes in the dark.

???:

You're too late.

[VISUAL]

Sudden explosion of light — Rain stands in a burning hallway, watching Dawn's corpse smolder in a pool of blood.

RAIN:

DAWN—!!

[VISUAL]

He turns. More bodies. People he's known. Faces he's failed.

Everyone he's ever cared about — mutilated, piled, eyes staring at him.

[VISUAL]

One last body falls from the ceiling — his own reflection. Mangled. Smiling.

RAIN (internal):

What the fuck is this—

[PAGE 2]

[VISUAL]

A single glowing moon hovers above him in the dark.

The stars swirl around it… and suddenly shatter into dust.

[MOON PERSON] (V.O., cryptic):

When the essence of heaven chooses a vessel…

It does not whisper.

It devours.

[VISUAL]

A star-shaped sigil burns into Rain's chest as he screams.

CUT TO BLACK.

[PAGE 3]

[VISUAL]

Rain gasps awake.

Breathing heavy. Shirt drenched. Eyes wide.

DAWN (off-panel):

You good, corpse-boy?

[VISUAL]

He turns. He's in Dawn's room — her posters, her mess, her sarcasm.

A water bottle rests on the side table.

RAIN:

…What the fuck?

[PAGE 4]

[VISUAL]

Dawn stands with arms crossed, annoyed but obviously relieved.

DAWN:

You've been out for two days.

Didn't even twitch. I thought you were fuckin' dead or something.

RAIN:

Why the hell am I here and not in my room?

DAWN:

You tell me.

I woke up, and you were face-down on my carpet like a goddamn mannequin.

No wounds. No blood. Just… cold as shit.

RAIN (internal):

…What the hell happened?

Last thing I remember—

[PAGE 5]

[VISUAL]

Flashback — 80th floor, cartel suite.

Rain's body is broken, face bloodied, slumped beside a shattered TV stand.

Blood pools. His breathing slows. Eyes fading.

RAIN (internal):

I was done. Stabbed through. Couldn't lift my blade.

There was no backup. No exit. Just pain.

Then everything… went black.

[PAGE 6]

[VISUAL]

Back to the present — Rain stands up slowly. His body feels… normal.

No cuts. No scars. Just confusion.

RAIN:

Nah, this don't make sense. I was bleeding out. I felt my goddamn life slipping.

DAWN:

Yeah, well, guess death took a smoke break.

I'm just glad I didn't have to scrub your corpse outta my rug.

[PAGE 7]

[VISUAL]

Rain walks over to the window.

Afternoon sky — blank, empty. No stars. No sun. Just a cold blue.

RAIN (internal):

The stars…

They're gone.

[VISUAL]

Zoom out. No reflection of the stars.

Not in the sky. Not anywhere. Just static, uncaring air.

[PAGE 8]

[VISUAL]

Cut to a mountaintop bathed in darkness.

A shrined ruin, ancient, floating in the void.

Sitting cross-legged is the Moon Person, shrouded in robes.

MOON PERSON:

The stars once sang in harmony…

Now they sleep, buried inside the boy of blood.

Chosen not by fate… but by grief.

[VISUAL]

Their eyes glimmer with fragments of galaxies.

MOON PERSON:

He is their bearer.

Their cage.

Their weapon.

[VISUAL]

They look up at a half-lit moon.

MOON PERSON:

When the heavens scream again…

The world below will burn in silence.

[PAGE 9 – FINAL PANEL]

[VISUAL]

Back in Dawn's room.

Rain stares at his reflection in the mirror.

His pupils flicker — just for a second — with the faint pattern of a constellation.

He doesn't notice.

But the sky does.

[CAPTION]:

The stars have not vanished…

They're just waiting to wake up.

Chapter 3 — "Echoes in the Void"

[Panel 1 – Deep space. A dead universe. Fractured stars drift like shards of glass.]

Narration (off-screen):

There are some universes that never get born.

Some… are murdered.

[Panel 2 – A shadowy figure kneels before a shattered star.]

Cloaked, with strange inscriptions glowing beneath the skin. A void-like presence with eyes that reflect galaxies.

Narration:

He is known by many names in many realities.

But most just call him… Mourn.

[Panel 3 – Mourn rising, gripping a shard of a fallen star, black smoke whispering around him.]

MOURN (whispers):

Another one gone… and yet…

A new light dares flicker.

[Panel 4 – Exterior. Earth. Friday morning.]

The sun rises over the city. Ordinary life drones on.

[Panel 5 – Interior, Rain & Dawn's Smoke Shop.]

Rain is seated behind the counter, zoned out. A few stoners browse shelves lazily.

RAIN (inner monologue):

Like another Friday…

Cartel shootout.

80 floors of hell.

I should be fucking dead.

But I'm not.

And business is still open like nothing happened.

[Panel 6 – Dawn walks out of the back holding inventory sheets.]

DAWN:

You gonna help, co-owner of the year?

Or just sit there brooding like Batman?

RAIN (inner monologue):

God forbid I take a moment to process existential whiplash.

[Panel 7 – A customer exits, bell chimes.]

DAWN:

You're lucky you still have your spleen. You didn't even tell me what the hell happened.

You just… showed up in my bed. Like some haunted-ass corpse.

RAIN (grabbing a bag of chips):

I don't even remember how I got there.

Last thing I saw were the stars deleted out of the sky…

[Panel 8 – Rain eats aggressively, Dawn notices.]

DAWN (eyeing him):

…You always eat like that or did dying give you the munchies?

[Panel 9 – Close-up on Rain's blank stare, crumbs falling.]

RAIN:

Wasn't hungry 'til now.

[Panel 10 – A small TV behind the counter plays a news broadcast.]

NEWSCASTER (on-screen):

…allegedly discovered a hidden crypt beneath Jerusalem.

Some believe it may be the actual burial site of Jesus Christ—

[Panel 11 – Rain laughs mid-bite, chips falling.]

RAIN:

That's not where he was buried.

DAWN:

…The fuck?

[Panel 12 – Rain stares at the screen, more serious now.

His voice drops a bit.

RAIN:

He was buried 47 miles northwest, in a mountain cave under a fig tree.

The walls were etched in dead languages.

There were two coins on his eyes… but they weren't Roman.

[Panel 13 – Dawn stares.

DAWN:

How the fuck would you know that?

RAIN (quiet):

I don't know.

I just… do.

[Panel 14 – Dawn steps back, slightly concerned.

DAWN (thinking):

This ain't normal. Something's wrong with him.

[Panel 15 – Rain zones out again. A hum echoes in his ears.]

RAIN (inner monologue):

Why does it feel like my head's a fucking satellite?

[Panel 16 – NIGHT. Rain sleeps restlessly in bed.]

He tosses and turns, soaked in sweat.

[Panel 17 – DARK NIGHTMARE SEQUENCE begins.]

Visuals:

• Blood-slick floor.

• Dawn's severed body.

• The smoke shop in flames.

• The cartel leader holding Rain's head.

• Mourn standing in a black void smiling.

RAIN (screaming):

NO!

[Panel 18 – A voice cuts through the black.]

MOON PERSON (off-screen, cryptic):

The stars scream in your sleep, Rain.

They mourn what you haven't lost… yet.

[Panel 19 – Rain jolts awake in a field of white nothingness.

RAIN:

What the—?

Am I dead again?

[Panel 20 – A figure stands before him. The Moon Person—now human-shaped. Wearing a hoodie, jeans, and sunglasses awkwardly tilted.

MOON PERSON:

Yo fam. What it do, my dawg?

[Panel 21 – Beat panel. Rain blinks.

RAIN:

No. Just… no.

[Panel 22 – Moon Person sighs and drops the act. His eyes turn silvery and ancient.

MOON PERSON:

Apologies. I'm… not yet fluent in the tongue of… vibes.

[Panel 23 – Wide shot of the Grand Tether Nexus (G.T.N.)

A surreal dimension of constellations, spiraling gravity, floating obelisks, and doors from all timelines.

MOON PERSON (V.O.):

This is the Grand Tether Nexus — the heart of all Star Bearers across the multiverse.

You… are one of them now.

[Panel 24 – Rain stands, awestruck. Stars swirl in the shape of symbols behind him.

RAIN:

What the fuck does that even mean?

[Panel 25 – Moon Person turns, solemn.

MOON PERSON:

You carry the last soul-stars of your universe.

A collective consciousness. An ancient will.

Your body is a tomb and a weapon.

[Panel 26 – Close-up on Rain's chest glowing faintly.]

MOON PERSON (V.O.):

But you don't know its name yet.

And until you do…

You're nothing more than a candle in a hurricane.

[Panel 27 – Cut to deep space. Mourn enters Earth's atmosphere. A single word echoes across dimensions.

MOURN (whispers):

Found you.

[Panel 28 – FINAL PANEL – Wide. Rain stands small in the Nexus. A million star-voices whisper behind him.

Caption:

And the stars held their breath.

Chapter 4 — "The Silence Between Stars"

[Opening Page: Wide panel — Rain and the Moon Person stand in the middle of the Grand Tether Nexus (G.T.N.), a vast celestial cathedral floating in a black sea of galaxies. Ethereal, endless, haunting.]

Moon Person (off-panel):

"Mastering the stars will be like trying to hold fire in your lungs… and smiling through it."

[Next Panel: Close-up on Rain, arms crossed, clearly skeptical.]

Rain (deadpan):

"So… a cosmic STD with fireworks. Got it."

Moon Person (grinning faintly):

"If you cannot control them… a single sneeze could erase your planet."

[Next Panel: Beat panel. Rain's eyes widen slightly. He turns his head.]

Rain:

"…Wait. You're telling me I can commit planetary genocide with allergies?"

Moon Person (completely serious):

"The essence you now host is not passive. It stirs with thought, with breath. Even gas carries divine weight."

[Next Panel: Rain looks horrified.]

Rain:

"…So what happens if I fart?"

[Next Panel: The Moon Person pauses, puts a finger to their chin, visibly trying to come up with an answer.]

Moon Person:

"…Perhaps the Andromeda Cluster would feel… a slight quake."

Rain:

"Perfect. So I'm a gassy death god with memory loss. Why not throw in a love triangle while we're at it?"

[Next Panel: The stars above flicker. One of the galaxies twists unnaturally.]

Moon Person (suddenly tense):

"Silence."

[Page Turn: Double page spread. The G.T.N. begins vibrating. The cosmic floor beneath them fractures slightly, like an earthquake through starlight.]

Rain (backing up):

"Yo. I didn't fart yet—what's going on?"

[Next Panel: Close-up on the Moon Person's face. Their eyes, typically warm and cosmic, are wide—fear etched into the cracks of their glowing skin.]

Moon Person:

"Something breaches the veil. I had hoped to speak longer… but it seems you've drawn attention."

[Next Panel: In the far distance, a tear in reality begins forming — jagged, purple, bleeding energy. A sickening void leaks through.]

Rain (staring, voice low):

"…Is that supposed to be there?"

Moon Person (whispers):

"No."

[Next Panel: Moon Person walks toward Rain, reaching out and placing their glowing palm on his chest.]

Moon Person:

"You are not the only Star Bearer in existence. But you are the only one in this universe. And the first in a very long time."

[Panel inset within panel: Rain's shirt glows where the Moon Person touches. The stars flicker silently in his pupils.]

Moon Person:

"You must leave. Now."

Rain:

"Wait—hold up. I've got questions! You can't just—"

[Page turn: Rain begins dissolving into particles of starlight, sucked backward through the dimension.]

Moon Person (final line echoing as Rain vanishes):

"Be wary… of the silence between stars… it is where the old gods rot."

[CUT TO: Rain jolts awake in his bed, drenched in sweat. Gasping. Eyes wide. The ceiling is plain. The smell of incense from the smoke shop is faint in the air.]

Rain (panting):

"…Did I just get kicked out of a cosmic TED Talk?"

[Visual: Dawn enters the room mid-yawn, holding a cup of coffee. She stares at Rain, confused.]

Dawn:

"You good? You were mumbling something about farting and gods. I thought you were fucking dead for a minute."

Rain (rubbing his eyes):

"I thought I was too."

[Scene Transition: Breakfast. Rain devours a mountain of food with robotic speed. Dawn watches from the kitchen island, horrified.]

Dawn:

"Okay. You never eat like this. Did dying turn you into a black hole?"

Rain (between bites):

"Might be a god now. Jury's still out."

[Beat Panel: Dawn blinks. Decides not to ask.]

[Final Pages: Mourn steps through a crater of burnt grass and shattered earth on the outskirts of the city — face unseen, body draped in torn cosmic robes.]

Narration (Moon Person's voice overlapping):

"You were chosen by the stars… not to thrive. But to carry what must not be lost."

[Visual: Mourn looks up at the city skyline — his arrival begins to poison the atmosphere with quiet dread.]

Narration:

"And now something ancient knows your name."

END OF CHAPTER 4

Chapter 5 – "If You Were Me…"

[Page 1 – Visual: Rain's dark room, lit only by the blue glow of his monitor. He's hunched over, headphones on, in a Discord voice chat.]

[Panel 1]

Rain, smirking faintly at the screen.

Rain (V.O.): "Alright, hypothetical time—if you woke up with the ability to destroy Earth with a sneeze… what the fuck would you do?"

[Panel 2]

Discord chat overlay appears, showing his friends' avatars lighting up as they respond.

Friend 1 (V.O.): "Bro I'd lock myself in a vacuum-sealed room and never breathe again."

Friend 2 (V.O.): "Cap. You'd go viral sneezing buildings off the map."

Friend 3 (V.O.): "I'd monetize it. 'Pay me or I'll nuke your city with a sniffle.'"

[Panel 3]

Rain laughing, but eyes a bit empty.

Rain: "Yeah… I figured y'all would say some dumb shit."

Rain (V.O.): "Still… what if it wasn't a joke?"

[Page 2 – Transition panel: Rain walking down the cracked sidewalk, hoodie up, early evening sun bleeding into the horizon.]

Rain (V.O.):

"Every time I blink, I see that weird old fuck with the moon-face…

talkin' about the 'essence of eternity' like he was on shrooms."

beat

"Stars, powers, destruction. Why me?"

[Page 3 – Visual: Storefront glowing neon. Sign above reads: "BROKEN YET FLAWLESS." Graffiti style logo. Customers loiter outside smoking. Rain approaches, expression unreadable.]

Rain (V.O.):

"This place used to feel normal.

Now even the damn neon feels like it's staring at me."

[Page 4 – Interior of the dispensary. Vibe is cozy but chaotic—posters on the walls, rap music playing low. Behind the counter, TOBI BLAZE is checking inventory, gold chains and all.]

Tobi Blaze:

"Yo Rain, you good? You look like you seen a ghost and fought it in a back alley."

Rain (dry):

"More like the ghost saw me, gave me the powers of God, and dipped."

Tobi (laughing):

"Shiii—pass that strain, I wanna hit what you smokin'."

[Page 5 – Visual: Rain walking to the back office, passing DAWN who's rolling a blunt on the counter.]

Dawn (noticing Rain's face):

"You alright?"

Rain (shrugging):

"Define 'alright.' If I told you I might vaporize the planet next time I sneeze, would that make me alright?"

Dawn (deadpan):

"…Don't sneeze in here."

[Page 6 – Visual: Rain sitting alone in the back, looking up at the ceiling tiles. Voice echoing in his mind from earlier with the Moon Person's warning.]

Moon Person (V.O.):

"Power like this… it is not a gift, but a curse with purpose.

Control it… or destroy all you touch."

Rain (thinking):

"…The hell does that even mean?"

beat

"…And what happens if I fart?"

[Page 7 – Visual: A sudden chill runs down Rain's spine. A flicker of cosmic energy pulses in his eyes. The background around him shifts subtly, like the walls themselves know something's coming.]

Moon Person (V.O., distant and fading):

"We are not alone. I must go. But we… will be in touch… soon."

[Panel 4 – Close-up of Rain's eyes, narrowing.]

Rain (thinking):

"Every time I think I've got a grip… the universe slaps me across the face with more bullshit."

[Page 8 – Ending Panel: Rain steps outside to light a blunt. He exhales slowly, eyes to the sky… the stars still missing.]

Rain (V.O.):

"If you were me…

Would you even wanna know the truth?"

[End of Chapter 5]

CHAPTER 6 – THE NAME OF THE STARS

[SCENE – ABANDONED OBSERVATORY – EXT – DUSK]

The sky is smeared with ash-colored clouds. The observatory looms like a forgotten god — cracked, devoured by vines, and ghost-silent. Rain stands in the parking lot, jaw clenched, teeth grinding.

RAIN (thinking):

"Shut the fuck up…"

He slams his heel into the pavement, cracking the ground beneath him. The voices — whispering fragments of forgotten galaxies — echo inside his skull like tinnitus made of stars.

RAIN (thinking):

"Every fuckin' second… every step… louder."

He stares up. No stars. Not in the sky. Not on the observatory ceiling. Nothing. He's alone. But not for long.

[SCENE – OBSERVATORY – INT – MAIN HALL – NIGHT]

Inside, the observatory is clean. Pristine. Spotless as if time gave up trying to rot it. Light hums from old machines that shouldn't work. Rain walks in, steps heavy, breath tight.

A sudden flicker. A figure. Right in his face.

MOON PERSON (human form, trying to be hip):

"Yo, yo, big dawg, chillax—"

RAIN (startled):

"THE FUCK?!"

Instinct. Heel slams again. The floor erupts, light shoots upward like a volcanic scream. The Moon Person barely dodges, jacket singed.

MOON PERSON (dusting off):

"Okay, okay, less 'gangsta' more… sage. My bad. Tone mismatch."

Their playful demeanor drops. A pause.

MOON PERSON (serious):

"You're breaking the seal. Your soul is leaking essence. He'll find you."

RAIN:

"He who?"

MOON PERSON:

Mourn.

They vanish in glitchy particles. Rain stands alone. Then—

[SCENE – OUTER RIM OF THE OBSERVATORY – NIGHT]

Wind howls. Everything slows. The sky twists.

A rift opens like torn skin — black ink leaking into reality.

[ENTER: MOURN]

Slender. Pale. Barefoot. Cloaked in cosmic static. Mourn steps into the world with eyes that look like collapsed stars.

MOURN (softly, almost reverently):

"So this is the beacon… pathetic."

RAIN:

"You lost, Casper?"

Mourn raises a hand. Reality bends. The ground Rain stands on buckles, launching him across the yard. He crashes into a rusted satellite dish.

RAIN (coughing blood):

"Okay… not a ghost. Noted."

Mourn is on him. Every blow hits like gravity collapsing. Rain can barely block. He tries to retaliate but the essence slips from his control — raw, wild, unformed. Like trying to punch with thunder you don't understand.

Mourn kicks him into the observatory wall. His spine cracks something important.

MOURN:

"You don't even know their name."

[SCENE – FLASHBACK – DIMLY LIT APARTMENT – NIGHT – YEARS AGO]

Rain as a kid, sitting on a rooftop with his father. The stars are dazzling.

FATHER (smoking, calm):

"You know, every star's got a name. Not the science kind. The real ones. Old names. Cosmic names. Living names. And if you ever hear 'em… really hear 'em… they'll answer you back."

RAIN (young):

"What's their name?"

FATHER:

"You'll know when you need to."

[SCENE – PRESENT – OBSERVATORY – INT – NIGHT]

Rain's body is broken. He's bleeding out on the observatory floor. His breath is shallow. His vision doubles. Mourn approaches, hand outstretched.

Then—

RAIN (barely breathing):

"…Aetherion."

The air goes still.

A light erupts inside him. Like a second sun. The room trembles. His body begins to float — a silent resurrection.

MOURN (hissed, eyes wide):

"…Impossible."

Rain's eyes blaze with galaxies. His wounds begin to close. His voice is layered — his and something far older.

RAIN (now fused with the essence):

"You wanted a beacon? Now you've got a fuckin' flare."

Chapter ends with Rain standing mid-air, eyes burning, a blade of light forming from his soul. First true awakening.

TO BE CONTINUED…

[PAGE 25]

[FRAME: CLOSE-UP]

Rain's eyes now fully reflect the cosmos. Within them, pinpricks of celestial bodies orbit and pulse. His pupils flicker like eclipses.

[NARRATION]:

He wasn't fighting alone.

He wasn't fighting at all.

[FRAME: WIDE SHOT – STANDOFF]

Mourn stands still, watching. The entire room is silent, save for the distant hum of starlight. Rain's sword rises beside him—without being touched.

[PAGE 26]

[FRAME: RAIN'S POV — HIS HANDS MOVING ON THEIR OWN]

His fingers flex. His stance shifts into something unnatural—elegant, impossible. Each breath aligns with something ancient. A rhythm buried in bloodlines.

[RAIN (internal)]:

What the hell is this…?

My body—

It's moving like—like I've done this before.

[OVERLAY – ECHO OF HIS FATHER'S VOICE]:

"The blade remembers what you forget. Let it speak for you, Rain."

[Final Panels]

RAIN:

"I don't know what the fuck is happening. But if you think I'm going down easy—"

[He steps forward—each motion cracks reality around his heel like glass fracturing in space.]

RAIN (cont'd):

"—then you better start praying to whoever gave you that ugly-ass face."

[Cliffhanger Panel: Rain dashes forward, leaving a burning comet trail. Mourn braces for impact. Freeze frame.]

Chapter 7 – The Blade That Cuts the Cosmos

[Page 1]

[Scene: Abandoned Observatory – Interior]

The wind howls through broken window panes. Dust floats in slanting rays of sunlight, like glittering ghosts.

Rain stands in the rotunda's center, breathing heavily, eyes twitching. Sweat drips down his neck. The floor beneath him is cracked from his earlier outburst.

[NARRATION]

Something inside him had been clawing at his skull. Whispers. Pulses. Starfire in the veins. He tried to ignore it—but the voices wouldn't shut the fuck up.

RAIN (thinking):

I'm not hearing shit.

I'm just stressed.

Lack of sleep. Too much weed.

Maybe Dawn slipped something in the brownies again—

A sudden flash of static distorts his vision. The air shifts.

[Page 2]

[Impact Frame]

Mourn appears behind Rain in a blink.

Mourn is tall, cloaked in pulsating black and silver. Their eyes are voids with swirling galaxies. Gravity distorts around them. Dust floats upward.

MOURN (calmly):

You're leaking essence.

It's… irritating.

RAIN (spinning, blade drawn):

The fuck does that mean?

MOURN:

It means you've been chosen.

And I've come to unchoose you.

The scene explodes into action.

[Page 3]

[Frame 1]

Rain lunges, slashing at Mourn with brutal precision. Fluid strikes honed from years of battle.

Mourn parries with a single finger.

[Frame 2]

Rain skids back, tightens grip, smirks.

RAIN:

Bet. Let's see how you handle One Thousand Years of Death!

[Frame 3]

He mimics the infamous Naruto jutsu.

Mourn catches his hands mid-thrust.

MOURN (blinking):

…Is that supposed to be an attack?

RAIN:

It was gonna be funny, bitch.

[Frame 4]

Mourn hurls Rain through a pillar.

Dust explodes.

Rain coughs blood, grinning.

RAIN (thinking):

Alright. No more clowning. This fucker's different.

[Page 4]

[Scene: Rain's Style Unleashed]

Rain switches stances—his swordplay becomes erratic, unpredictable.

Feints, misdirections, slashes meant to disorient.

He's not just a fighter—he's a storm with a blade.

Mourn is fast. Faster than anyone Rain's faced.

But Rain adapts, piece by piece.

[Frame]

Mourn slices through Rain's shoulder.

Blood arcs.

MOURN:

You are not ready.

[Page 5]

[Rain on the Precipice of Death – Flashback Triggers]

Rain's back hits the floor.

His body refuses to move.

Breathing becomes static-filled.

Mourn approaches, dragging their blade across the ground, slow and deliberate.

[Visual]

Stars flicker in Rain's eyes. Burning white light pulses.

[Voice – Rain's Father, echoing from memory]

The stars aren't just light, Rain…

They're stories.

They're alive.

They watch.

They wait.

And when you need them most…

they speak.

[Child Rain under a blanket fort, holding a star map.]

FATHER (continuing):

Each star has a name.

And the one that follows you…

the one that belongs to you…

is called Astrael.

[Present – Rain's body jerks.]

RAIN (whispers):

…Astrael.

[Page 6]

[Power Awakens – Star Essence Ignites]

Rain's body lights up like a galaxy imploding in reverse.

His veins glow like constellations.

Mourn halts, sensing it.

MOURN (softly):

…So he is the one.

Rain rises, hair drifting as if underwater.

Blade hovering beside him like a loyal companion.

The stars no longer whisper.

They sing.

[Page 7]

[The Unseen Hand]

Rain stands still.

Breath low.

The battle fades.

He feels it.

A warm pressure on his back.

The smell of burning incense and old tatami mats.

For a second, the observatory smells like home.

RAIN (internal):

What is this feeling...?

The warmth spreads into his limbs.

His hands move—but not of his own will.

[Page 8]

[The Way of the Forgotten Blade]

Rain shifts stance.

Not flashy.

Not conscious.

Precise.

RAIN (internal):

I've never moved like this.

His grip tightens.

Breath slows.

There's no panic now.

Only peace.

RAIN (softly):

…Why does this feel like… home?

[Page 9]

[Flashback Fragment]

Child Rain peeks into a candlelit room.

His father kneels, repeating a blade kata.

Movements sharp but quiet—poetry with steel.

Stars shine through the window.

One twinkles.

[Page 10]

[Back to Present – Mourn Attacks]

Mourn lunges—blade raised.

Rain vanishes like wind.

His sword arcs upward, elegant and lethal.

Spark trails from its tip like comet tails.

[Page 11]

[The Cut]

Mourn blocks—barely.

The shock sends them skidding across marble.

MOURN (thinking):

That movement… ancient.

Impossible.

[Page 12]

[Rain Speaks]

Tears in his eyes.

Not sad.

Confused.

RAIN (whispering):

I don't know what this is…

But it feels like someone's helping me swing.

[Visual Overlay: a ghostly hand flickers on Rain's shoulder, like a star's light.]

Rain doesn't see it.

The audience does.

[Page 13]

[Technique Unleashed: Starfall Slice]

Rain performs a stance unseen by modern eyes.

Feet still.

Blade held backwards.

He vanishes.

A slash of light arcs from every direction.

Stars align.

Sound disappears.

[Page 14]

[Impact]

Mourn barely blocks.

CRASH.

They fly back, smashing through pillars.

[Page 15]

[Landing]

Rain lands silently.

His blade drips stardust and blood.

RAIN (voice low):

You said I wasn't ready.

RAIN (eyes glowing):

Guess you were right.

That's why he's helping me fight.

[Page 16]

[Battle Resumes]

Rain's body glows.

The blade hums.

Ancient power and modern skill fused.

Mourn narrows eyes.

MOURN:

Then let's see what that ghost teaches.

The clash continues.
