"He's your beast, you can have free rein of him anywhere you want, just keep him under control and you can't take him out through this tiny place, by his left is a mechanism, pull on the lever and the ceiling will split open to let you both out, be careful " she waved with a worried face before turning to leave and she resisted the urge to squeal for the first time in her life.
"Um... I was wondering if you could teach me the basics in air with your dragon when you're free" she asked lowly with expectancy.
"Yep I'll not pass up this opportunity, It's an honor to do it, Zeba" she yelled out and a loud growls came to her in response from one of the caves to her right and she smiled before turning and bounding over to her Wraith.
"Hey Cerberus" she called out as she walked into the large cavern and the beast curled his tail around her and pulled her close to his face much to her amusement.
"Come on, we have free rein of the skies as long as you don't try to eat anything uneatable" she said and he seemed to think about it for a while before he gave a reluctant assent which she could feel through the newly formed bond and she smirked before having him uncurl his tail from around her and walked towards the left part if the cavern which was the right if Cerberus and she easily found the lever and pulled hard.
A cracking filled the air and her wraith growled loudly as she curled his tail around her and brought her onto his back where he made sure she was secure before stepping back as anger filled him.
"Calm boy, the caves just opening" she explained and he cocked his head back to look at her in question just as the ceiling split and pulled into the sides, revealing a clear blue and whites dotted sky and the wraith stood transfixed for a while.
Just staring at the sky and with that, her heart tightened with pain as she deduced that he had stayed in this caves since his birth. Never going out to see the sky, he was much more stronger than a dragon and although it still pained her at that realization, she knew they were merely afraid to let him out due to any incidents occuring.
"Come on boy, it's your time, our time to own the skies, let's take back the skies, we'll soar until we can't stay up again, you up for the challenge?" She asked leaning unto him like she had seen the others do and his claws scratched at the ground in anticipation which brought a smile to her face.
"Now fly, Cerberus " she urged and not a second later he leaped out of the cave and into the air, powerful wings beating up dust as be became more acclimated into his wings, they lifted up and up however unsteady and soon he leveled out and she gasped with joy as he flew more steadily past the other dragons who stared at their form with fear, awe, and also a huge touch of apprehension.
"You did good boy, you did so good, do not listen to the haters, remember you're better than your haters, so take that energy and soar more higher" she advised into the bond instead of speaking out loud as she felt him whining at the energy the other beasts were emitting but as soon as he understood she had gone through the same thing too, he beat his wings more and they burst through the clouds, flying at a speed that left her gasping, she could feel the thinness of the air here but she relished the ability to see the sun from a new focal point, albeit two suns in a sort of dance that left her breathless.
"Good boy, that's it" she coed before directing him downwards and out of the sky, bursting out back but above the city market instead and people stopped what they were doing to stare at them, pointing fingers but from what she heard it wasn't mostly bad and it was something.
"Hey tamer" she glanced beside her at the yell to watch a green dragon come close to them but still stayed far away and the dragon glanced at the wraith with apprehension.
"Hey Zedner" she waved with a finger and he smirked at her as the wind blew her tied hair to her shoulders and she threw it back.
"When I heard you bonded to the Wraith, I thought of course it's you" he said shaking with laughter and she smiled, it had only been a full day and this strangers accepted her without question.
"Yeah, I thought the same thing too. Because it would be no other person than the lady who went toe to toe with the king and still keeps her head" came from her left and she glanced around her to see Xxavier and she narrowed her eyes at him in a fake glare although amusement danced in her eyes.
"This is Cerberus, I don't know how you guys don't stay up here all day, it's beautiful and freeing " she said with her arms spreading wide to try and capture the air but failing, it didn't stop the huge smile on her face anyway.
"My dragon is called Dream, yes it sure is but duties call most times " Xxavier explained with a smile.
"My dragon is called Feral and yeah he's right so who's in for a good ol' race?" Zedner called out and she sent the message to Cerberus whose whole body vibrated with an excitement to race the others, he could already feel the familiarity with them and he wanted to explore it and she smiled at him in fondness.
"He's up for it" she replied and they both whooped before dashing away with speed but Cerberus barely increased his speed until they were so far away before he sent her his equivalent of Wraith's grin before snapping his shoulders, his wings beating harder and soon, she was racing past their shocked faces, whooping as she did and she heard cheering coming from below her as the circled the market and came back to their starting point, hovering with chuckles.
This was by far the best feeling she had ever felt in her bleak miserable existence and years clouded her eyes, and she resisted the urge to let them fall. Blinking a few times to clear it before anyone saw.
"Seriously not fair" complained Zedner with a smile on his face as they all panted out of the over excitement.
"Come on, let's show her the city market or Zena would bury us alive" Xxavier said and steered them down to the ground, a clear place as they all landed and Cerberus whined as he watched the others.
"You'll be fine, just don't eat any dragons" she whispered the last part to him and she could feel his mirth at that but he soon gave his agreement and took to the air, clouding the whole place in dust.
"I won't even ask, come on" Zedner said, dragging her off.
Her laughter filled the place at the joke zedner had just told her of the baker who had sold them the baked chicken and some liquid she had forgotten what the name was. All she knew was that it was a sweet delicacy.
But soon, yelling filled her ears, cutting her response off as she munched on the sweet juicy Baked chicken the lady had sold to her before swirling on her feet with the rest to see two ladies bounding over to her, looking chick and also furious.
"Who's that?" She asked, still licking her fingers without any care in the world.
"That's trouble" Xxavier huffed with disdain clear in his voice.
"Meet Tatiana Douglas, daughter of a lord at the table of the king, she loves Logan like he's heaven so she now hates you like hell" laughter filled her ears from the both men and she slapped their chests with amusement and they coughed at the force she used just as the lady stopped before her, watching as three soldier dressed male surrounded her back.
"You worthless witch" the lady growled out in anger and she cocked her head to the side, intrigued beyond reason.
"Who are you?" She asked, feigning boredom.
"I am a princess of this realm, soon to be your queen, tell your wicked beast of a monster to return my sick mother's dragon" she shrieked with anger clear in her voice.
"I'm going to give you this warning once princess, you can insult me but I swear to whatever God you serve that if you call my Wraith a monster again I'll show you how it feels to be a monster " she warned, voice drooping in anger as her eyes flashed pure red and the princess took a step back as fear flashed through her eyes and the scent of fear filled her nostrils as she took one forward, her beast relishing in the power they held against this princess.
"Ge--"
"Shut your pine hole, Cerberus" she cut the Wraith off as he tried to speak into her mind then she asked for the dragon and his excitement filled her as he gave her a picture of where they were and she nodded as she glanced up and watched them lower to the ground slowly and she walked up to the now five dragons, with Zena grinning from the top of her blue one cradling something.
"Gena" cried the princess and rushed over to the dragons radiating excitement, stopping before the identical blue one beside Zena's dragon.
"That was a narrow escape. Here, Cerberus brought her to me faster than ever, she laid four beauties" she laid two eggs on the outstretched arms of the princess whose eyes bulged in shock as Cerberus opened up his mouth and gently lay down two more eggs, one white, the other green before stepping back in apprehension.
"She was pregnant? I had no idea" the princess said softly, so different from how she came unto her screaming and shrieking like a crazy lady.
"Before you start judging people and I mean me or my wraith, because of what you don't know and only have assumptions of, choose them words carefully because I won't be so nice next time" she threatened and walked up to her wraith who had begun to retreat into himself at the harsh judgement he kept receiving.
"It was merely a mistake, no need to b-- aaarh" her dagger pierced the helmet off her guard directly behind her and stuck into the wall and gasps filled her ears as she glanced at the fear filled princess.
"One more word" she gritted out, eyes flashing in between black and red.
"Aleirraki....."
"Let's go, Cerberus" she nodded at him and he picked her up using his long tail and mounted her on him before he leaped up into the air and flew off, of course she was used to all this nonsense but Cerberus wasn't.
He was like a huge baby dropped into an adult's body and he didn't know anything more than helping when he could and destroying when he should and it pained her that they all kept him under lock and cage and when he was finally free they had the guts to judge him....
Her temper flared at that and Cerberus growled loudly in response to her emotions and the dragons around them gave them a wide berth with shrieks and without thinking more about it, she burst out into laughter at the terror she had seen in their slitted eyes.
"You seem to be enjoying the ride" came from below her as a huge dragon claimed up the space beside them and she glanced around her to see the pure red dragon of Logan, sage and Logan.
"Of course I am, it's a first for me anyway" she replied smartly and glanced forward as they steadily approached the castle.
