(After reaching Azalea Town, home of the Azalea gym, Mew and her friends find themselves having a battle against Team Rocket at the Slowpoke Well.)
(When they meet the man in the Slowpoke costume, they help him out.)
(However, it's revealed that the man is none other than Kurt, the Pokeball expert they've been searching for.)
(Soon, Mew and her friends at Kurt house with the Pokemon expert himself and his granddaughter, Maisie.)
Maisie: "Thanks a lot, you guys. You really helped us out. We sure are lucky you came along. The whole town owes you for saving the well, but I'm just glad you saved grandpa."
(Maisie says.)
Kurt: "She's right. I just wish there was some way to show you how grateful we are."
(Kurt says.)
Mew: "We're just really glad we could help."
(Mew says.)
(Then Kurt says.)
Kurt: "Now, then. Didn't you say you had something for me?"
Mew: "Actually, yeah. We're here on an errand for Professor Oak."
(Mew says.)
(Kurt is surprised.)
Kurt: "Really? Professor Oak sent you here himself?"
Maisie: "Who's Professor Oak, grandpa?"
(Maisie asks.)
(Kurt turns to his granddaughter.)
Kurt: "Now, Maisie, I'm sure if you think back on all your lessons, you'll remember that Professor Oak is the greatest Pokemon researcher in the world."
Maisie: "Oh."
(Maisie says.)
(Then asks.)
Maisie: "But if Professor Oak is so great, what does he need them for?"
Brock: "He asked us to come because there's this Pokéball that even Professor Oak can't figure out."
(Brock says.)
(Then Misty says.)
Misty: "We really don't know anything about it, but we've been calling it the GS Ball."
Kurt: "The GS Ball."
(Kurt replies.)
Mew: "Yeah. We got it from Valencia Island. The researcher and her assistants called it the GS ball because of its color and the initials written on it."
(Mew says and brings out the GS Ball.)
Mew: "Here you go."
(Kurt takes the GS Ball.)
(He then gasps in amazement.)
Kurt: "Why, this ball is..."
Brock: "I'm gonna explode if I have to wait another second!"
(Brock says, eagerly.)
(Misty feels the same.)
Misty: "You just gotta tell us any and everything you know."
Tomo: "Come on, the suspense is killing us."
(Tomo says.)
Mew: "We're begging you."
(Mew says.)
Kurt: "Alright, it's clear that the ball is..."
(Kurt says.)
Everyone: "It's clear that the ball is...?"
(The group asks eagerly.)
Kurt: "Well, it is a kind of Pokeball that is made of silver and gold. And judging how it feels and weight, we can assume there must be something inside of it. Judging by the material made, someone must have struck genius when creating it. But as for what's inside... it is possible that it's a Pokemon."
(Kurt says.)
Mew: "So then, there really is a Pokemon inside?"
(Mew asks.)
Kurt: "Possibly. I hate to disappoint you, but I don't know what kind could have been stored in there."
(Kurt says.)
Kurt: "Well, once I've looked at it more closely I should be able to say more."
Maisie: "Don't worry, you guys. If anybody can figure this out, it's my grandpa."
(Maisie says.)
Mew: "Thanks a lot for trying to help us out, Kurt."
(Mew says.)
(Later, Mew and the others decide to give Professor Oak a call.)
(Mew says to Professor Oak.)
Mew: "Professor Oak, it's us! Guess what? We're calling you all the way from Kurt's house in Azalea Town."
Professor Oak: "Ah, so you finally made it there."
(Professor Oak says.)
(Then asks.)
Professor Oak: "Have you had a chance to give Kurt the GS Ball like I asked you to?"
Misty: "We gave it to him right away, like you said."
(Misty says.)
Professor Oak: "And? What happened?"
(Professor Oak asks.)
Brock: "He's never seen anything like it, so he has no idea what it is, either."
(Brock says.)
Tomo: "Yeah. But Kurt mentioned that the Pokeball is made out of real gold and silver, which could explain the engraved letter on the top half."
(Tomo says.)
Professor Oak: "It's made from actual gold and silver? Really?"
(Professor Oak asks, surprised.)
Jen: "That's right, and Kurt mentioned that there's a Pokemon inside, like Mewtwo said."
(Jen says.)
Mew: "And that means the Pokemon inside must have been trapped in there for who knows how long."
(Mew says.)
Professor Oak: "Oh dear."
(Professor Oak says.)
(Then Mew says.)
Mew: "He promised us he'd try to figure it out, though."
Professor Oak: "In that case, I'd appreciate it if you let me know the minute you learn anything new."
(Professor Oak says.)
Brock: "Okay."
(Brock says.)
(Soon, Muk enters the scene, giving Professor Oak a hug.)
Professor Oak: "Hello, Muk. I'll be off the phone in a minute."
(Professor Oak says.)
(Muk soon knocks Professor Oak over, showing Tracey feeding two Nidoran.)
(Then Professor Oak gets up.)
Professor Oak: "Anyway, it's good to know that it's in capable hands, even if Kurt didn't know what it was right away."
Tomo: "Hey professor, what's so great about this Kurt guy anyway? What's the big deal?"
(Tomo asks.)
Professor Oak: "The big deal?"
(Professor Oak questions.)
(Then explains.)
Professor Oak: "He's a legend, my boy. Even your own teacher would agree with me. Kurt's an expert craftsman who's skilled in making Pokéballs out of Apricorn."
Jen: "What's an Apricorn?"
(Jen asks.)
Professor Oak: "You should be able to see some growing right near Kurt's house. Take a look."
(Professor Oak says.)
Misty: "Hey, guys. I bet he means that tree out there."
(Misty says.)
(Everyone looks out and sees a tree bearing white fruits, Apricorn.)
Professor Oak: "As you'll see, Pokéballs that are made out of Apricorn have all sorts of special qualities that set them apart from the Pokéballs you're used to using."
(Professor Oak says.)
Misty: "Oh."
(Misty says.)
Mew: "That's pretty neat."
(Mew says.)
Tomo: "Yeah. I like to see how he makes it."
(Tomo says.)
Jen: "Me too."
(Jen says.)
Mew: "I wouldn't mind seeing it for myself, Besides, I'm curious to see how he's doing with the GS Ball."
(Mew says.)
Brock: "That's true. Let's all go together."
(Brock says.)
