(Soon Falkner then calls out.)
Falkner: "Go, Pidgeot!"
(And Pidgeot comes out of the Pokeball.)
(Then Tomo asks.)
Tomo: "I wonder which Pokemon Mew is going to choose?"
Jen: "Yeah. She has so many and some of them are good flying types,"
(Jen says.)
(Mew then says.)
Mew: "I only need to defeat one more Pokemon, and that Pidgeot is strong."
(She then brings out her Pokeball and says.)
Mew: "And I know just who to choose."
(She throws her Pokeball and calls out.)
Mew: "Charizard, I choose you!"
(Charizard comes out and lands on the ground with a thump in front of Pidgeot.)
Falkner: "So Charizard's up now, huh? Things are finally gonna get interesting,"
(Falkner says.)
(The two then stare each other down, and ready to battle.)
(Then the referee announces.)
the referee: "Begin!"
(Falkner makes the first move.)
Falkner: "Now, fly, Pidgeot!"
Mew: "You, too, Charizard!"
(Mew calls out.)
(Soon, both Pokemon take to the sky.)
(Mew then calls out the attack.)
Mew: "Charizard, use your Flamethrower!"
(Charizard fires the Flamethrower.)
Falkner: "Pidgeot, you've gotta get out of the way!"
(Falkner calls out.)
(Pidgeot dodges the attack effortlessly.)
(Then Mew calls out.)
Mew: "Quick, Charizard! Try another Flamethrower attack!"
(Charizard another attack.)
Falkner: "Pidgeot, Agility!"
(Falkner calls out.)
(Pidgeot flies past the flames so fast that it disappears and reappears a few times.)
Mew: "It's too fast!"
(Mew says, shocked.)
Falkner: "Using Agility, it reaches a speed of Mach 2. I suggest you give up before it's too late,"
(Falkner says.)
(But Mew says.)
Mew: "We'll never give up, no matter what!"
(And calls out.)
Mew: "Charizard, Flamethrower!"
(Charizard then performs another Flamethrower.)
(Then Falkner calls out.)
Falkner: "Pidgeot, Whirlwind attack!"
(Pidgeot then performs the attack, and sends Charizard back, causing it to land on the ground hard.)
Mew: "Charizard! Are you alright?!"
(Mew calls out.)
(Charizard is able to stand.)
Falkner: "We've got them on the run, Pidgeot! Try a Wing Attack!"
(Falkner calls out.)
(Pidgeot dives at Charizard.)
Mew: "Another fire attack will just come back at us,"
(Mew says.)
(Then calls out to her Pokemon.)
Mew: "Charizard, try a Fly attack!"
(Charizard tries to fly away, but is unable to fly.)
(Mew notices it right away.)
Mew: "Oh no."
(Then Pidgeot is able to land the attack.)
Brock: "Why didn't Charizard fly away?!"
(Brock asks.)
Misty: "It's wing! It must be injured!"
(Misty says, shocked.)
Mew: "Charizard! Please try to stand up!"
(Mew calls out.)
(Charizard then stands up.)
(Then Falkner calls out.)
Falkner: "Time to finish him off once and for all, Pidgeot! Use Quick Attack, now!"
(Pidgeot then charges and slams hard into Chairzard's stomach.)
Misty: "This looks bad!"
(Misty says, worried.)
(Then Brock calls out.)
Brock: "Mew! Do something or you're gonna lose the match!"
Mew: "I know. I just need to think,"
(Mew says.)
(Suddenly. Falkner says.)
Falkner: "Forfeit."
Mew: "FORFEIT?!"
(Mew says, shocked.)
(Falkner says.)
Falkner: "It's supposed to be a trainer's responsibility to judge whether his Pokemon can continue to battle or not. And you've got a Charizard that can't even fly anymore... WHAT'S THE POINT OF BATTLING ANYMORE!? A Charizard that can't fly, can't win a match."
Mew: "Oh, yeah?! Well, my Charizard isn't a quitter and neither am I!"
(Mew says.)
(Charizard stands up straight and glares at Falkner.)
Falkner: "Whatever you say, Mew. Maybe losing this battle will teach you a lesson,"
(Falkner says.)
(Then commands the next attack.)
Falkner: "Pidgeot, hit Charizard with your best Quick Attack, now!"
(Pidgeot darts forward at full speed and Falkner shouts.)
Falkner: "FINISH IT!"
(Then Mew calls out.)
Mew: "I never ask you to do anything I know you can't do Charizard, and now I need you to FLY!"
(Charizard's wings flap up and his eyes grow wide before swooping into the sky, causing the quick attack to miss.)
Mew: "I knew you could do it!"
(Mew cheers.)
(Then Falkner says.)
Falkner: "Your Charizard may be able to fly, but can it fly fast?!"
(Mew then keeps a determined look.)
(In the sky, Charizard is in mid air and is getting behind Pidgeot.)
(Falkner calls out.)
Falkner: "Pidgeot, use your Agility attack, quick!"
(Pidgeot vanishes and reappears behind Charizard.)
(Falkner calls out.)
Falkner: "Go Pidgeot! Try your Quick Attack again! NOW!"
(Pidgeot darts at Charizard, and strikes at it, but Charizard remains air board and gets behind Pidgeot again.)
Falkner: "Fly around as much as you want. Nothing's gonna change,"
(Falkner says.)
(Pidgoet then uses Agility again, and performs a Quick attack at Charizard.)
Mew: "He's right. His Pidgeot is just gonna keep using the same attacks,"
(Mew says.)
(Soon she realizes something.)
Mew: "Wait a minute! If Pidgeot keeps using the same attacks over and over again, maybe we still have a chance to win."
(With a plan in mind, Mew calls out.)
Mew: "Okay, Charizard, fly behind Pidgeot and grab it!"
(Once more, Charizard flies towards Pidgeot from behind.)
Falkner: "You don't know when to give in!"
(Falkner says.)
(And calls out.)
Falkner: "Pidgeot, Quick Attack!"
(Pidgeot disappears again.)
(Then, Mew then calls out.)
Mew: "Charizard, quick! Turn around and use Fire Spin!"
(Charizard turns around and performs Fire Spin.)
(As Pidgeot appears, the attack surrounds the flying Pokemon, and it begins to flap wildly in a panic, trying to escape.)
(Falkner cries out.)
Falkner: "PIDGEOT, NO!
(Brock calls out.)
Brock: "HURRY UP, MEW! DON'T LET PIDGEOT FLY AWAY!"
Tomo: "NOW'S YOUR CHANCE!"
(Tomo calls out.)
(Then Mew calls out the final attack.)
Mew: "NOW! Grab hold of Pidgeot, and finish it off with a Seismic Toss!"
(Charizard flies in, grabs Pidgeot and performs the Seismic Toss by flying into a circle.)
(Then flies down and crashes Pidgeot to the ground with hard force.)
(Falkner's followers chant.)
Falkner's followers: "Pidgeot, get up! Pidgeot, get up! Pidgeot, get up!"
(Pidgeot struggles to get up, but unable to have the strength, Pidgeot collapses and is knocked out.)
(Falkner rushes over.)
Falkner: "Are you okay?
(Seeing the result, the referee calls out.)
the referee: "And the challenger, Mew from Pallet Town, is the winner!"
(Mew cheers.)
Mew: "Congratulations, Charizard!"
(Charizard lets out a mighty roar.)
Charizard: "ROOOOOAR!"
(and begins blasting flames into the sky in victory.)
(Mew runs over and gives Charizard a hug.)
(Later that evening, after Mew's victory.)
Falkner: "It was really smart for you to use Pidgeot's speed to your advantage. That was a great strategy. You definitely earned the Zephyr badge,"
(Falkner says, and presents the Zephyr badge.)
Mew: "Thanks, that's nice of you to say,"
(Mew says.)
(Then looks to see her first Johto League Badge.)
(It is shaped like a pair of silver wings.)
(Mew then shows it to Pikachu and Eevee.)
Mew: "Look guys, we got the Zephyr Badge."
Pikachu: "Pi Pikachu!" (That's our first badge.)
(Pikachu says.)
Eevee: "Eevee," (Our very first one.)
(Eevee says.)
Falkner: "Battling you has inspired me to learn more and train harder. That's the only way I'll reach my goal of becoming the number one flying Pokemon trainer. I hope you have good luck in the Johto League,"
(Falkner says.)
Mew: "Thanks, and good luck to you,"
(Mew says.)
(Then they both shake hands.)
(Soon, Mew and her friends say their goodbyes and head off to their next adventure in Johto.)
(Now that Mew has earned her first badge, she's flying high as the group continue to make their way to the next gym.)
(Meanwhile, Team Rocket's downed balloons have landed in the woods as Fearow circles overhead, and some Spearows are pecking them on their heads.)
(James cries.)
James: "Quit pecking on me!
Jessie: "Our big plan laid an egg!"
(Jessie asks.)
Meowth: "Dis ending is definitely for da boids! And we already got an egg, already!"
(Meowth screams.)
(And from the looks of it, it seems that the Fearow and Spearow are going to give them quite the headache.)
