Chapter 936 - The Meeting

Bei Si stared at the leaderboard above the island without expression. This time, the others didn't matter to her. Her opponents were only Liu Yue and Mo Ran. Three days had passed, and she'd already killed two contestants. Yet these two didn't seem to have made a move at all.

Their scores hadn't risen much. They didn't seem interested in hunting other participants. They weren't taking her seriously as a threat.

Or maybe they were confident they could kill her, and naturally claim her points for themselves. Either way, a cold glint flickered in Bei Si's eyes.

Once she finished off the other contestants, she'd pay them a proper visit. They were trying to sit back and wait, but they'd guessed wrong. Her cultivation method grew stronger with every kill. If they didn't compete, all the better. She could slaughter the remaining contestants alone, and then, accumulate her murderous intent to its absolute peak.

She'd make them join the ranks of the dead under her fists.

Bei Si licked her lips and continued her hunt. Every day, poisonous mists would appear at random, turning harmless areas into deadly zones in an instant. There was no pattern to these mists. Sometimes they fell on the outer regions, sometimes the inner.

One contestant had hidden too deep. Suddenly, his area was engulfed in poisonous mist. He tried to escape but was too late, dying painfully from the poison.

"Xing Lu, dead. Five contestants remain. No points awarded."

The announcement sounded again.

Bei Si frowned. What an idiot! Dying from poison like that! They'd just wasted a hundred thousand points!

As the poisonous mist spread, more fools like this would appear. She had to hurry.

The island was huge.

But with Yun Jin and Wan Dao's coordination, seven days later, they met at the foot of a mountain.

"Quick! Look! The seeded contestants are meeting!" The audience in the stands erupted in excitement.

Up to now, they'd only seen Bei Si's one-sided slaughter. While cat-and-mouse games were fun, nothing compared to an evenly matched fight.

Bei Si was still hunting other contestants.

Her two strongest opponents, Mo Ran and Liu Yue, had met ahead of schedule.

Judging by their paths, they'd ignored Bei Si entirely. As soon as they entered the island, they'd headed straight toward each other.

Since flight was impossible on the island and their entrances were far apart, it had taken seven days for them to meet. Otherwise, they'd have clashed much sooner. Luckily, the wait was worth it.

On the seventh day, Liu Yue and Mo Ran deliberately sought each other out. A fierce battle was inevitable.

Wan Dao looked at Yun Jin and frowned slightly.

A demon cultivator practicing the same foundational method as him?

Could it be…

After the demon race stole Wushuang Sect's secret manual, they'd already modified it to suit demons?

That didn't add up either. If the manual had been modified, it should have spread first among the Hei Xi demons, not been practiced by a devouring demon far away.

Wan Dao could vaguely sense that Yun Jin carried traces of the same cultivation method, but he'd practiced too many to pinpoint which one.

Yun Jin's perception, however, was far sharper. She immediately sensed that this demon named Mo Ran carried the Yin Yang Codex. He was hiding it well.

But her mastery of the Primordial Yin Yang far exceeded his. He could fool others, but not her. She had sensed this back when facing the Demon God. Now, standing face to face, the feeling was even clearer.

The thought in Yun Jin's mind surfaced fully. She fixed her gaze on Wan Dao but didn't strike immediately.

Instead, she transmitted her voice: "Hei Ran, from the Hei Xi demon clan."

Wan Dao raised an eyebrow: "Liu Yue, from the Devouring demon clan."

Yun Jin smiled: "I heard you sacrificed your family to help the Abyss demons, wiping out the traitorous Hei Xi demons. Now, you and your siblings are the last three Hei Xi demons."

Wan Dao narrowed his eyes. He was still trying to figure out what this demon woman meant.

"Demons are very attached to their race. Such a righteous extermination of one's own family is rare!" Yun Jin stared at him. "But you've met the Abyss Demon God, and it still entrusted you. That proves, in the Demon God's eyes, you're trustworthy."

Wan Dao replied calmly, "We serve the Demon God faithfully, naturally there's no problem."

"Not necessarily." Yun Jin's smile was playful. "What if you had a secret method to hide the Heavenly Dao, deceiving the Abyss Demon God?"

Wan Dao raised an eyebrow. "In front of the Demon God, what secret could hide the Heavenly Dao? Are you joking?"

"Ordinary methods won't work," Yun Jin said, studying every twitch of his expression. "But what if… it's the way of Yin and Yang? Yin and Yang are the ultimate truths of Heaven and Earth. When balanced, they can create chaos, erasing all traces."

Wan Dao had been calm until now. Hearing that, his expression changed abruptly. He stared into Yun Jin's eyes, a murderous intent shooting out instantly.

This demon!

She'd spoken the method he specialized in!

Who exactly was she!

With his cultivation exposed, his identity might also have been discovered!

In front of the Eight Demon Gods, if she revealed even a hint, neither he nor An Ying Lingyun would have a chance of survival!

Wan Dao's pupils constricted, and without hesitation, he struck instantly.

Yun Jin, however, suddenly laughed. At that moment, she confirmed the identity of the demon in front of her. The Yin Yang Codex, created by Master Wan Dao, had only ever been mastered by him.

From the start, she'd suspected this was Master Wan Dao.

After that little test, there was no longer any doubt. Her luck was incredible. She had planned to wait until after the disciple tournament to rescue Master Wan Dao.

But unexpectedly, Master Wan Dao had delivered himself!

And she didn't even need to rescue him.

Yun Jin watched.

Her master had done very well for himself. He'd disguised himself as a Hei Xi demon so perfectly that even the Eight Demon Gods hadn't noticed. His cultivation was now, like hers, at the Tianxian peak.

It seemed these ten years hadn't been wasted, reaping benefits from the Abyss Demon God.

Master and disciple were strangely on the same wavelength. To avoid drawing the attention of the watching Eight Demon Gods, all of Wan Dao's moves stayed within the realm of his displayed Primordial Forces.

He was waiting.

Waiting for the perfect instant-kill strike to eliminate Liu Yue unseen.

Otherwise, if the barrier opened and Liu Yue reported to the Demon God, it would mean the end.

Yun Jin raised her hand to intercept.

Within the water screen, they paused briefly, then launched into full combat.

Multiple Primordial Forces intertwined, blotting out sun and moon, mesmerizing all the demons watching.

Wan Dao grew increasingly alarmed. He'd pushed three Primordial Forces to the limit, yet Liu Yue seemed utterly relaxed!

His murderous intent intensified. Even if he had to reveal part of his strength, this demon must die on the spot.

Suddenly, his expression shifted. He noticed a flicker of Yin Yang energy wrapping around Yun Jin's fingertips.

In the heat of battle, it vanished instantly. If he hadn't practiced the Yin Yang Codex, he'd barely have noticed it.

This energy…

This demon woman had also cultivated the Yin Yang Codex?

No, no, not the Yin Yang Codex!

Though it appeared only for a moment, the terrifying power contained within far exceeded his Codex.

As Wan Dao's mind spun, he heard Yun Jin's voice transmitted into his mind:

"Master, greetings. I convey my regards from Tian Po Sword."

Wan Dao: "?????"
