"If you can't speak properly, then shut your mouth." Sasuke's voice was sharp, his expression edged with irritation. "Even if you stay silent, no one will mistake you for a fool."
Naruto, however, grinned, eyes gleaming with mischief, his tone brimming with excitement. "What's wrong? Angry because you're embarrassed?"
"Do you believe I won't teach you a lesson right here?" Sasuke's annoyance flared as he stared at Naruto with visible displeasure. "I don't have the time to waste on your nonsense."
His cold arrogance carried a strange charm, a proud demeanor that stood in contrast to Naruto's playful energy. Their exchange, though filled with mock quarrels, was strangely harmonious. On the surface, they seemed to despise each other's existence, yet beneath it all, their bond grew undeniably closer, tempered like steel clashing against steel.
Inside the classroom, the teacher saw everything through the window. Originally, the punishment of sending them outside was meant to instill discipline. Yet, to his disbelief, the two who were supposed to be reflecting on their mistakes were instead laughing, bickering, and enjoying themselves more than ever.
The teacher's chest tightened with anger, his pupils narrowing into sharp points. Rage surged as he stormed out into the corridor.
"You two—do you even realize what you're doing?" His voice struck the hallway like a blade. "If I don't discipline you today, you'll never understand the weight of heaven and earth!"
At once, their laughter vanished. The shift was immediate—just moments ago their voices carried with careless ease, yet now they stood silently, faces straightened, gazes fixed on the teacher with sudden seriousness. Not a word left their lips.
The teacher ground his teeth, frustration boiling beneath the surface. Their composure was too deliberate, too perfect, as though their silence itself was mockery. He felt the heat of his anger rising to the point of bursting, yet even in his fury, he could not deny that their stubborn expressions carried a strange sort of charm, an unyielding light that softened his rage in spite of himself.
"You brats are trying to drive me insane," he muttered, voice low with exasperation, "otherwise why would you suddenly behave like obedient saints?" His tone carried the weight of someone who hated iron for refusing to become steel.
Naruto and Sasuke bowed slightly, voices low but steady.
"Sorry, sensei. We won't make the same mistake again."
"The two of us will stay quiet. You should return to class."
Their flattery was clumsy, but it worked. The teacher's anger eased fractionally, his mood lifting even as his expression remained severe. He fixed them with a warning glare.
"You two had better stay where you are and remain in peace. If you stir up trouble again, I won't hesitate to be harsher next time."
"Good!"
This time, their reply came in perfect unison, voices sharp and decisive, carrying no trace of defiance.
Neither dared to push the teacher further. They knew well that provoking him again would only bring harsher punishment, wasting precious time they could not afford to lose. After all, today was not meant to be squandered on meaningless scolding. They had something far more important awaiting them—the meeting with Moyu.
For that reason alone, this trivial punishment had to be brushed aside like dust.
With a final cold glance, the teacher turned and strode back inside, his expression still dark, though the weight of his anger had lessened.
