Moyu lifted a hand unconsciously, pressing against his forehead as if to restrain the irritation swelling within. Why were these two always so reckless, so childish, so intent on turning every trivial matter into a storm?
"This guy's gone too far. Today I'll teach him a proper lesson no matter what!" Naruto's voice rang with stubborn fire, the kind that only grew hotter when confronted. His words carried weight, but also revealed just how consumed he was by the moment.
The quarrel had escalated far beyond what reason could touch. Their anger, raw and unchecked, left no room for calm words or explanations. A misunderstanding had become the spark, but the flames were of their own making, and neither boy seemed willing to stop feeding them.
"Enough."
Moyu's voice cut through the tension, his expression severe. He only wanted to halt them before their conflict spiraled further, to prevent yet another endless clash that led nowhere. Yet his presence and words, sharp as they were, met only deaf ears. They had never once grasped the seriousness of the matter, blind to the line they were crossing.
And so irritation turned into resolve.
Moyu exhaled, shoulders loosening as his lips curved into the faintest arc. If they refused to listen, then he would make them listen. His patience had been worn thin, and his decision came as easily as breathing. Dealing with Naruto and Sasuke was no challenge to him—if anything, it was child's play.
"Since you won't stop, I'll step in." His tone was calm, almost casual, yet beneath it lay an edge of finality.
He raised a hand.
"Frozen Fruit."
The command left his lips, and in the next heartbeat, cold surged outward. Frost bloomed along the ground, raced up their bodies, and in an instant Naruto and Sasuke stood encased, frozen stiff from head to toe, their movements halted at once.
"Will you behave now?" Moyu asked quietly, almost weary. A sigh followed, carrying both resignation and sternness. "I told you to stop at the beginning, but neither of you wanted to listen."
Truly, these two were a headache. They had grown up side by side, yet behaved as though they had learned nothing of one another. Always bickering, always chasing quarrels as if their bond demanded it, their childishness was a constant drain. What should have been impossible between comrades who knew each other so well had instead become routine.
He shook his head. "Day after day you argue, and then you fight. It's endless."
Moyu made no move to deepen the punishment. He simply regarded them with helplessness shading his eyes, the stern edge softened by an undercurrent of reluctant care. "If you two can promise to stop, I'll undo the technique. But until then, stay frozen. Reflect on it."
Naruto and Sasuke could do nothing but remain locked in the icy bind. Even so, the shock was plain on their faces, eyes wide with disbelief at what Moyu had done.
To them it must have seemed unreal, as though he had bent time itself to his will. They struggled inwardly, yet found themselves utterly powerless, their strength laughably insufficient against him. From the start they had never even had a chance to resist.
The weight of that truth pressed down on them, the sting of helplessness burrowing deeper than the cold of the ice. For the first time, the fight they thought mattered so much seemed hollow.
And that realization made their hearts heavier still.
