"Another captains' meeting?" Kuchiki Moyu's eyes skimmed the report Matsumoto Rangiku handed him, his voice laced with surprise. "Rare for things to calm down." Rangiku tucked a strand of hair behind her ear with a languid grace, exuding her usual mature allure. "It's about the seal on Kuchiki Hibiki. Investigators found something new." She didn't wait for his response. "So hurry up and get moving, Captain."

Moyu nodded. "Understood." He turned away, but paused. "I'll leave things to you while I'm gone." Rangiku thumped her chest in response, the resulting bounce practically an offense. "Don't worry, Captain. I've got it covered!" Her uncharacteristically obedient tone made Moyu narrow his eyes. This girl… she's never agreed so quickly. What's she scheming now?

He picked up Nilu and settled her into a nearby seat. "Nilu's yours for now too. I'm heading out." Rangiku waved him off eagerly. "Go, go! Don't keep the Head-Captain waiting. That temper of his isn't easy to deal with." The more cheerful she appeared, the more certain Moyu became—she was absolutely up to something. Still, maybe leaving Nilu behind would be a decent countermeasure.

As his silhouette disappeared down the corridor, Rangiku's grin widened like a cat who'd just knocked over the fishbowl. She slipped a small notebook from her uniform and scribbled furiously: October 9th: Finally got the brat Kuchiki Moyu out of the way. Revenge time begins now! Hope the kogidō extract from the Research Bureau works…

Squad One Assembly Hall

By the time Moyu arrived, most captains were already present. Even Jūshirō Ukitake, who rarely attended in person, had taken his place. When Moyu looked over, Ukitake smiled and nodded—then immediately fell into a coughing fit that sent visible tremors through his body. Seeing the blood staining his handkerchief, Moyu couldn't help but feel uneasy. Even if he has the Spirit King's strength… how did he end up like this?

"Yo, Moyu!" A deep, guttural voice thundered behind him. He turned—and came face to face with the battle-hungry glare of Zaraki Kenpachi. "Heard some rumors," Zaraki grinned, all teeth and bloodlust. "You're strong. Real strong. Come fight me!" He didn't wait for an answer. His hand moved toward his Zanpakutō, spiritual pressure beginning to flare, completely ignoring the formal setting.

Boom. A single thunderous stomp echoed as Yamamoto Genryūsai's cane struck the floor. "Captains Moyu and Zaraki. This is a meeting, not an arena. Control yourselves." His half-lidded eyes cracked open just slightly, but even that was enough to quell the building pressure. Zaraki scoffed and sheathed his blade. "Tch. Buzzkill."

Moyu sighed inwardly. That fight with Madarame might've boosted my reputation a bit too much. Now even Zaraki's locked on to me like a dog sniffing out fresh prey. Before he could dwell on it, Yamamoto struck his cane again, calling the room to order.

"Now that everyone is assembled, this meeting begins. This concerns the investigation in Karakura Town. Kuchiki Hibiki's seal was broken. He escaped. Those responsible will be pursued to the end." He swept a stern glance toward Moyu. The look lingered just a second too long. Why me? Don't tell me they suspect I had something to do with the seal being broken?

Meeting Yamamoto's gaze without hesitation, Moyu amplified his own spiritual pressure in defiance. Yamamoto's expression faltered, just slightly. Several captains took notice. Kyoraku Shunsui's eyes widened. "Did he just… pressure the Head-Captain?" Even Ukitake momentarily forgot to cough. "Captain Moyu… truly a role model." Across the hall, Unohana Retsu smiled faintly, her eyes fixed on Moyu longer than strictly appropriate.

Yamamoto cleared his throat. "During the investigation, our squad found traces of Hollow spiritual pressure at the seal site." Hollow Reiatsu? Moyu's thoughts instantly turned to Aizen. Only he could command Arrancar or Menos-class Hollows capable of such coordination—and his tendency to manipulate from the shadows was well known.

But Yamamoto wasn't finished. "And we located several former captains who had become Hollow… in Karakura Town." Silence. Then an uproar. "What?!" "They found Hirako Shinji and the others?" Komamura Sajin's canine face showed clear disbelief. Their appearances had already been seen during the battle with the Scourge, making secrecy pointless at this stage.

Ichimaru Gin chuckled. "Heh… Let's hope they keep hiding. Once Central 46 makes a ruling, they never reverse it." Kyoraku's voice darkened. "That's why this meeting's real purpose… is to send captains into the world of the living."

Everyone remembered the ruling from a hundred years ago. Urahara Kisuke had been sentenced to exile, stripped of his power. Tessai Tsukabishi, imprisoned for using forbidden Kidō. The Hollowfied captains were marked as traitors and hunted. The intent of the meeting was becoming increasingly clear.

Moyu remained silent. He hadn't expected this development. How did a squad-level investigation find Hirako's group? Their base is on the outskirts of Karakura, nowhere near the seal. It doesn't add up. Unless… they were framed.

Moyu closed his eyes, controlling his expression. As a new captain, he couldn't afford to show sympathy toward the Visored. He hadn't had contact with them—nor had Byakuya, whose name the family carried. Still… a terrifying thought emerged. Aizen must have discovered them. And now he's baiting Seireitei into his game.

As the implications set in, the room fell into a heavy silence. No one wanted this mission. The Visored were captain-level opponents, some even stronger than average captains. Their Hollow abilities made them especially dangerous.

After a long pause, "I will go." Komamura stepped forward, voice steady. Loyal to Yamamoto above all else, his willingness surprised no one. But Yamamoto shook his head. "No, Komamura. Your power is too destructive for the human world. I've already selected the team."

All eyes turned toward him. "Captain Unohana of Squad Four. Captain Kyoraku of Squad Eight." He paused. "And Kuchiki Moyu, Captain of Squad Ten."

Moyu's eyes snapped open. "Captain… there must be a mistake. I'm still new. I can't compare to the veterans." What the hell is this?! I just came here to listen, not sign up for a suicide mission! He half-expected Aizen's name to be called. But his own?

Yamamoto continued, unshaken. "This decision was not made lightly. You, Kuchiki Moyu, defeated both Kurotsuchi Mayuri and Tokinada Nimaiya. You've proven your qualifications."

From the sidelines, Byakuya Kuchiki stepped forward. "Allow me to go in his place." Yamamoto shook his head slowly. "The Kuchiki family must leave someone behind."

Moyu's hand twitched toward his Zanpakutō. Are you saying I'm not expected to return?! Almost reading his thoughts, Yamamoto coughed and clarified. "This mission carries danger. The chosen captains are those I trust implicitly." Translation: Byakuya, you're not strong enough. Stay home.

Boom. The Head-Captain's cane struck once more. "The capture of the Hollow Shinigami is now in your hands. Do your utmost to protect the world of the living. Dismissed."

Just like that, it was settled. Moyu didn't want to go—but even he couldn't deny his suitability. His recent record placed him at the top of the current generation. And Unohana and Kyoraku weren't just powerful—they were legendary. Yamamoto had hand-picked his First Kenpachi and his most loyal student. Moyu… was the contingency.

Stepping out into the daylight, Moyu looked skyward, his face a mask of resignation. Meeting the Visored, huh? Let's hope this goes smoothly…
