"Is this what you should be saying?" Tatiana Camille said it sternly, but it sounded lacking in authority.
"Ms. Camille, I am your subordinate in the company, but outside the company, I don't want to treat you as my leader."
"Then what should you treat me as?"
"A friend!"
"A friend?"
Tatiana Camille sneered. "Do you think you can be friends with me?"
"Why not?"
I looked her in the eyes, sincerely asking, "Maybe one day in the future, when I'm no longer at Skylight, do I still have to respect you as a leader? That would be too fake."
"Right now, you are not qualified to be friends with me," Tatiana Camille said.
"Not now, but there will be opportunities in the future."
I smiled. "Who knows what the future holds!"
"William Maine, you have a way with words. I originally called you in to reprimand you, but as I spoke, my anger dissipated, and I almost became your friend. It's a shame you're not handling multi-level marketing."
