The next day,
The plan that had been running in my mind… I finally executed it.
"Father, Mother… can you buy this for me? Cough, cough."
I coughed loudly, exaggerating the sound as I pointed at an item I had circled in the magazine. Something that was only available in another country, so far from ours that even taking a private flight would take almost a full day to go and come back.
"Of course, dear. Even if the world falls down, even if the world itself never gives up, I will bring the thing you love!!!"
My father said it with the kind of seriousness people use when going off to war. His eyes narrowed, his jaw tightened, as if he was swearing an oath to conquer the entire earth just to deliver my request.
Why so dramatic, Father…?
