Chapter 2 - Chapter Two

Chapter Two

When Lilyan opened her eyes, she gasped feeling breathless. Like she was drowning in a pool of water. Her hand immediately went towards her chest and she looked down, trying to find her breath.

Her eyes darted around her surrounding, and she realized that the room she was in was a bedroom chamber. The style of the bedroom was very confusing at this age and time. The bedroom was a fair lair, designed with opulent tapestries and velvet drapes that shined like moonlit shadows. The walls were painted in a deep, rich gray paint while the floor creaked beneath feet with the softness of aged wood.

A grand, four-poster bed, carved with serpents, stood as the room's centerpiece, its curtains billowing like misty veils.

Candles flickered, casting a warm, golden glow on the lavish furnishings, and a fireplace crackled with a soft orange flames.

Lilyan moved, taking a step out of the bed. When her bare feet hit the ground, coldness surged within her. She wore a beautiful green gown. Something light. The door was suddenly opened and a lady in a yellow dressed walked inside, her head bowed down in respect. Lilyan looked at her suspiciously as the young lady approached.

"Your Majesty." The lady curtsied.

If it was possible, Lilyan's eyes would have popped out of it's socket and rolled down the carpet. 'Your Majesty'?Clearly that was not addressed towards her. She wasn't from the royal family, her ancestors were a middle age class family with common family background.

Without saying a word, Lilyan moved towards the door and the lady cried, "Your Majesty! I'm pleading with you, please stop trying to make His Majesty angry."

There's His Majesty as well? What kind of a movie was Lilyan in? it's not a horror movie right?

Transmigration was not real, she couldn't have transmigrated in a certain horror movie.

Definitely no!

She'd die there, she knew how much of a coward she was so she'd definitely die in a horror movie. But everything seemed way too real to be considered neither a dream or a movie.

"Who—who are you addressing as Your Majesty?" She looked at her. Her whole face was musked in disbelief.

The lady went on her knees, "Your Majesty please stop playing with this servant. You're the Queen of Eldrida, the second person in power of the Kingdom following His Majesty the King. How can I address you with anything beside that?"

"I—" She was truly confused. "I'm not supposed to be the Queen. I'm definitely not your Queen so you might have been mistaken. Where's this Majesty?"

The lady remained knelt down as she crawled towards the confused Lilyan, "Her Majesty, your crowning ceremony took place years years ago. It was a grand ceremony and all other Kingdoms came to pay respects before you, I remember it clearly. So I know you're our Queen."

Lilyan sighed, opening the door and the beauty before her almost made Lilyan lose her breath. She needed a slap very quickly to wake her up because she must have been hallucinating. She took a step out, still barefoot.

The floor beneath her feet was a mosaic of black and white marble, polished to a high sheen that reflected the light of the candelabras like a still pond. The air was heavy with the scent of agarwood and lotus, and the sound of whispers seemed to echo through the corridors.

Lilyan continued down the hallway, the sound of her footsteps echoed off the stone, soft and silence yet aloud, and the candle lights seemed to flicker in time with her heartbeat. The walls pressed in around her, very foreign.

Lilyan didn't know where she was going but she was seeking for answers so she continued walking. When she stepped inside an empty room, her eyes immediately ran across the candle lit around the room to a tall figure. A man wearing a royal attire stood next to the open window, his hand was occupied by a colourless glass with a red liquid inside.

"Hey!" Lilyan shouted with her eyes on him.

The lady who was following behind her almost tripped at how the beloved Queen addressed the man before her.

"You're awake?" His voice was very beautiful, thick and smooth like honey. However Lilyan was not going to focus on that, she had important matters at hand.

"Who—who are you!?" The hidden message behind the question what very accusing.

"You do not remember me? We've been married like.." he released a light chuckle as in thinking and he continued, his eyes on her. "Twelve years already. Now you're here asking whom am I?"

"M—married? We're married?" Another shock for the day and she stepped closer. More curious than ever. "You're the Majesty she spoke about? We're married?"

The lady behind her, placed shoes next to Lilyan before she bowed and retreated. The conversation was getting more serious and they needed privacy.

"Yes, we've been married for twelve years," said the man.

"B-but the maths, it wouldn't be. T welve years ago I was still—" she was interrupted.

"The time between the world you come from and this world are different and this is not the present day. A day in your world is week in this world, the aging is different as well. You rarely age in this world so that may seem confusing for you to understand now." His smooth voice said this very clearly.

Lilyan remained confused about everything, why was he talking about this world? This world? Lilyan was definitely in a dream.

"We're married?" So she asked again.

"You lost your memories." That wasn't a question, that was actually a statement and it seemed like he expected that. "My name is Edmund, the King of Eldrida."

"What is this place?" She asked.

The man smiled softly, "The Kingdom of Eldrida is located in another world, different from the one you come from.

That doesn't make you any different though because you're a Queen in another Kingdom, a lot has happened since the eternal night war. You've underwent your first awakening so you might not remember anything."

"I don't understand." Everything he said sounded very confusing.

"We have a lot of time to discuss all these, and as I've said, a lot has happened since the eternal night war and you underwent your awakening. All you need to know is that your people need you and as the protector, you should go back to Ardentia."

"Go back where?" Lilyan asked, more confused.

"T o the grave." The man was suddenly beside her, his fangs deep on her neck. Pain suddenly shot through Lilyan and she gasped, trying to say something but darkness immediately overtook her and she fell silent. Seconds seemed to pass in a flicker of light, more faster.

Lilyan sat up with a gasp, sweat rolling over her forehead like she just ran a marathon. She looked around, realizing that she was back in her room at her home.

Confusion rolled inside her mind, she didn't know what to piece out to make a real full answer. What is a dream? But why did it feel so real. Her eyes darted towards the clock, it was already three in the morning.

Lilyan got off the bed and stumbled towards the door, she twisted the door handle and made her way towards the kitchen. She took out a glass and a bottle of water then she poured out some, gulping each drop. That didn't make her any less thirsty though, her throat was still dry and burning with thirst. It was painful to endure.

"Lilyan." She suddenly heard a whisper which made her freeze where she was standing. Her eyes darted towards the window then she placed the glass of water on the table.

"Lilyan." The same whisper.

Lilyan's heart started to pound against her chest, but the whisper calling her name didn't stop. It kept getting closer and closer until a force pressured her neck, throwing her on the other wall.
