Chapter 57 - Chapter 57: Bloodburst × Dragon Core√

The Hikarisekai no Tsurugi (Radiant Sword of Judgment), alive with stormborn lightning, was vastly different from the weapon wielded by Odin's earlier puppet. This lightning was real—summoned from nature itself, resonating with the chaos of the storm.

Emiya felt a weight settle in his gut. Even if Odin lacked the full power of a true Chief Deity, it was clear he could tap into fragments of divine authority.

His weapon Bōdo (Wrath), humming like a siege hammer, roared defiantly against such divine pressure. Emiya poured his dwindling mana reserves into it. The reinforcement effect caused his alchemic field to burst outward with dominance.

The resulting force repelled rain and scattered lightning.

But Emiya was near empty—every reinforcement spell sapped his strength further. There wasn't much left.

Boom!

His massive horse-slaying blade clashed against Odin's divine sword. Their domains collided violently. Bolts of lightning turned into deadly arrows, striking out in all directions.

The shockwave gouged an enormous crater around them. Wind roared, carrying rain, stones, and debris. Undead were tossed away like straw dolls.

"Blasphemer! Your resistance is like paper! Your life, a candle in the storm!"

Odin's voice thundered. He held his sword effortlessly in one hand, while raising the Kunugunīru (Spear of Fate) in the other. A high god looking down on a struggling mortal.

None could get near—their clashing domains were too fierce. Whirling winds and snapping thunder filled the space.

And Odin was right. Emiya's mana was near zero. His only shot left was another Gensō Hōkai (Phantasm Collapse)—but Odin wasn't about to let him get the distance.

If he even tried to pull away, Odin would pierce him with that thunder-clad spear.

He was running out of time.

Boom! Boom!

Thunder above intensified. Lightning closed in. Emiya stared at Odin's weapon—it looked ready to strike the final blow.

Was this fear? Regret? No move left to play?

Then came the spark.

If his magic circuits convert life into mana—could he fuel them directly by burning his life?

Magicians had done it before. Matō Kariya from Fate/Zero had. Emiya's body responded immediately. His skin lit up with circuit marks—crackling, sizzling.

It worked.

A bottomless surge erupted from within. Circuits blazed. Energy flowed freely. His domain surged outward, forcefully pushing Odin back.

Boom!

Even Odin was caught off guard—staggering a step.

He narrowed his eye. Emiya's golden irises were now burning—his bloodline amplified to extreme levels. His heart thundered like an ancient dragon's.

"Oh? Another mortal chasing godhood… just like that summer century ago…"

Odin remembered the "Lament of Summer" incident—when Lu Shan-yan and Menek opposed Li Wuyue using a similar technique. The Bloodburst.

Back then, their blood refinement threatened even the Divine. They perished, but their legacy remained feared.

Yet this boy… had no signs of dragonization?

Instead, strange glowing runes formed over his body.

This wasn't the same Bloodburst Odin remembered.

Meanwhile, the waves of undead kept coming.

Jōde Mai and Zero had been stuck holding them back. Odin and Emiya's battle was too volatile—no one could approach.

"Did you call Wāshu yet?"

"She's dealing with another group of Eirei (Heroic Spirits). She's organizing the noble families into a counter-force… she's busy."

"Damn… Can we get Dankiryūtai (Dragon Severing Platform) here in time? Emiya's in serious trouble…"

"Don't know. Too many undead are blocking the way. If things get worse…"

Zero's golden eyes flared. She prepared to charge forward—ready to be Emiya's shield, even against a god.

"Hey! You'll die!"

"Move!"

"You idiot, wait!" Jōde Mai's voice snapped. Fueled by ancient dragon serum, she overpowered Zero, dragging her back.

"Hold on—Emiya's situation just changed. He's Bloodbursting!"

Zero froze. Her eyes shone as she peered into the chaos.

Emiya was now holding his ground.

His strength and speed visibly increased. He wielded both Bōdo (Wrath) and Gōyoku (Greed)—massive blades several meters long.

They should've been unwieldy, but he moved with grace and lethal power, like a child playing with a giant's toy.

Odin's skill remained formidable. On his eight-legged horse, he danced through Emiya's strikes, deflecting each with spear and sword.

Their clash was a blur. Rain turned into flying shrapnel. Sonic booms echoed from each swing. Streets cracked open. Undead were pulverized.

Zero's Kagami Hitomi (Mirror Eye) zoomed in.

No dragon signs. Just glowing circuits. Movements too precise to be instinct.

A realization struck—Emiya was learning mid-fight. Predicting Odin's actions. Adapting and responding instantly.

Almost like a combat-optimized version of her Mirror Eye.

A flash of intuition.

She blinked. She could do it too.
