Chapter 20 - Chapter19

Elara lowered her eyes and thought for a moment. Her slender, fair fingers tapped on the table. Then she suddenly said:

"Prince Leland, how mentally strong is the current ruler of the Salvia Kingdom?"

Everyone present was extremely intelligent. In an instant, they understood what Elara was planning.

Prince Leland gave a slight smile, his gaze toward Elara deepening. "When you say mental strength, you're asking whether that bastard would recklessly use the mirror's power out of panic, right?"

Elara nodded.

"My ancestors in the Gladiolus Kingdom also used this method in the past. But every heir to the Salvia throne is trained from childhood by the previous emperor. Even if they're mentally weak, they won't use the power of the mirror unless they're on the brink of death."

"Moreover, ever since the Salvia King acquired that mirror, to prevent such things from happening, he has spent a fortune continuously hiring the top three killers on the Heaven List from the Bloodclad Tower to serve as his personal shadow guards."

The top three killers on the Heaven List from each generation of the Bloodclad Tower are also within the top fifteen of the entire continent's assassin rankings. The three from this generation have even broken into the top ten, ranked eighth, ninth, and tenth on the entire continent. Because of them, the status of Bloodclad Tower among second-tier powers has risen significantly.

Blood Yama, their leader, is indeed highly skilled at training his subordinates. So unless someone can bring in those few top-level experts ranked in the top seven of the continent's power rankings or assassin rankings, and if they're only around the seventh rank, at least two or more would be needed, it's nearly impossible to kill all three of the Bloodclad Tower's Heaven List assassins at once.

Even the slightest disturbance would immediately alert nearby Salvia Kingdom shadow guards. That would lead to a full-scale assault. The consequences would only become worse.

And those who rank in the top seven of the world's power and assassin lists, each one of them is a living treasure. The value they bring can almost match the blessing of a high-level divine bloodline.

Even within the top-tier forces in the central region of the continent, they are extremely sought after. More than half of the top seven assassins on the continent belong to a force even stronger than the Bloodclad Tower, a top assassin organization called the Yellow Springs Hall.

Yellow Springs Hall is known as the Gate of Ghosts across the continent. Even major first-class nations like Celosia State, Petunia State, and Freesia State rarely choose to deal with them. It's already extremely difficult to find these top-level experts through them, let alone get them to take action.

At this point, Prince Leland changed the subject. "However, the number of experts in this world isn't limited to those on the rankings. The Martial Alliance only keeps track of those who have made appearances and taken action on the continent."

"As for the hidden masters who've never shown themselves, even the Martial Alliance cannot know about them. But the chances of encountering such hidden masters are probably even lower than directly finding those top seven on the rankings."

"So, this plan is basically unworkable. My ancestors once hired top experts from the continent to try this. Almost all of them failed."

Everyone quietly absorbed the information Prince Leland revealed. Elara, however, caught onto two key terms.

The Continent Power Rankings and the Continent Assassin Rankings?

Hearing those two names, a memory suddenly flashed through her mind of Sindri, who had previously pretended to be He Haochen to get close to her.

The foreign men who had come to hunt her down back then were from the same organization as Sindri, but they were all very afraid of him and didn't even dare to come near him.

It seemed to be because Sindri was a top assassin ranked extremely high on the mainland assassin list.

He was apparently one of the top three assassins on the continent, with terrifying strength.

Back then, Elara hadn't yet come into contact with any of this information. Even after hearing it, she didn't think too much about it.

Now that she remembered, her brows slightly furrowed, and she subconsciously licked her lips with the tip of her tongue.

The force behind Sindri must have really valued her and Plumera a lot. They sent a top-three mainland assassin like him to infiltrate her residence back when Plumera was still so weak and chaotic.

No wonder none of the Wei family had noticed anything when he first appeared in the Princess's Mansion in Plumera City. Even after he disguised himself as He Haochen, he maintained his act so flawlessly.

If Gareth hadn't vaguely sensed something wrong, she might still be treating that person, who could take her life at any time, as a pitiful little orphan and keeping him close.

Elara let out a cold, mocking smile at the corner of her lips.

Thankfully, that huge hidden threat had already left. She now had to make full use of her time to grow stronger and develop Plumera.

She needed to stop those people from breaking their promises and returning, and she had to prevent Plumera from being targeted again by another superpower or powerful figure.

Otherwise, even if she saw them coming, she might be unable to fight back or protect herself due to the gap in strength.

With these thoughts, her desire to destroy the Salvia Kingdom and its vassal states and seize their lands and influence grew stronger.

That mirror had to be destroyed, no matter what.

While she was thinking, Gareth beside her continued speaking.

"Then what if we approach him disguised as someone he knows?"

Prince Leland shook his head again.

"All those methods were tried by my ancestors. That divine mirror has already become one of the Salvia Kingdom's core strengths.

To protect the mirror and its master, everything around the Salvia King, including all attendants, food, clothes, and belongings, is subjected to the strictest screening."

"The attendants serving the Salvia King were all raised from a young age on a secret drug. They are completely incapable of betraying him.

The King can sense the drug inside their bodies and recognize them that way."

"In short, there are basically no gaps in their defenses."

It really was like an iron fortress.

Elara's brows furrowed even more.

Both Gareth and Prince Yu also fell into deep thought.

Seeing their expressions, Prince Leland was silent for a few seconds before changing the topic slightly.

"Actually, we did manage to get our hands on some of that secret drug in Gladiolus Kingdom. But the consequences of taking it are extremely severe.

Only the legendary Medical Valley might be able to handle them."

Elara's eyebrows twitched slightly as she looked up at Prince Leland.

He held his wine cup and went on.

"But unfortunately, not only is Medical Valley said to only exist in legends, many powerful factions who tried to find it were rejected at the door."

"Even if someone could truly find that legendary place and later remove the poison from the drug, the person pretending to be one of the Salvia King's close attendants must still be able to disguise themselves so perfectly that they appear identical to the real person."

"Ordinary disguise skills and impersonation methods absolutely won't work.

To reach that level, unless someone could find another legendary sect, the Thousand Faces Sect, which once single-handedly stirred chaos across the entire continent.

Otherwise, any disguise would surely be seen through."

Prince Leland let out a sigh as he spoke.

"Unfortunately, both of these sects are incredibly hard to find. Especially the Thousand Faces Sect, which has now been labeled as a demonic faction by the continent's powers.

Most of its members have been wiped out. Finding even one of them would be harder than reaching the heavens."

If it weren't for the genuine look of regret and emotion on his face, and how naturally he spoke without even glancing at Elara, she might have suspected Prince Leland had already investigated her.

Because the Thousand Faces Sect and Medical Valley, those two legendary groups he said were nearly impossible to find, just happened to be by her side right now.

After a few more seconds of thinking, Elara looked at Prince Leland.

"Gladiolus Kingdom has fought with the Salvia Kingdom for years. Do you, Prince Leland, have any way to infiltrate the royal palace and get close to the Salvia King?"

Prince Leland thought they would probably give up on this plan after everything he had said.

But unexpectedly, Elara still pressed on with her questioning.

He paused for a second before realizing, this Miss Bai could it be that after hearing all that, she still had the confidence to pull it off?

Prince Leland's assumptions about Elara's background and power immediately rose to a new level.

But since Elara didn't reveal anything more, he didn't ask.

He just stared at her and asked.

"Miss Bai, how confident are you that you can do this?"

"At least eighty percent."

Elara had already made up her mind. Whether she had to use Medical Valley or Emory, or even if neither of them worked, she would borrow from the System again if necessary.

She would use Plumera's national fate points to destroy that mirror.

It was just that national fate points were far too precious. They were true divine tools that could reverse everything at a critical moment.

Unless absolutely necessary, Elara didn't want to spend them lightly.
