Chapter 4 - Ep.4

Once the final non-combat test was concluded the third and final test had started, this test was to see if you could face anything that would stand in your path.

"For the final test you will be sent to a Island filled with dangerous beasts of the Advanced Rank. You are to survive for 24 hours. You can form teams with other students or go alone if you desire. By defeating monsters your team can earn points to raise your rating in the test. You will have 30 minutes to form your teams if you so choose and do not fret over dying as your tags you received from the beginning are enchanted with protection spells."

The third test was created in mind for students to gain a clear picture of the beasts that threatened humanity. So naturally everyone was nervous of dying until they heard that their tags were enchanted with Protection spells.

But Juan was sulking a little for a truly odd reason.

'He forgot to mention the teleport spell I added as well. He is so inconsiderate of how much time it takes to create a single tag.'

That's right, Juan was sulking because his grandfather didn't let anyone know that the tags were laced with Teleport spells and protection Spells at the Master Level.

Normally they would only be enchanted with Protection spells of the Advance Level but Thane had specifically requested Juan to make them this years, under considerable efforts through bribes and gifts.

'It's a miracle I'm not bankrupt already because of Juan. Let's just hope his new fame with increase our investments.'

Guilds and family's could sponsor certain individuals and give them great amounts of fortune. So if Juan were to be sponsored then a portion of those proceeds would fund the school.

But it was at that moment Thane realized how deep he will be in debt.

'Even if he does get sponsored then most of the funding meant for the school will go to Juan to pay his monthly Dragon Coins… underneath that cold demeanour is a Silver Tongue Devil.'

Almost immediately once the team selection timer started everyone started running and toppling over each other as they all tried to get Juan's support for the next test.

However Juan was prepared and sat on top of a stone pillar to avoid being trampled and looked down at the students who were about to start climbing.

"Behave like normal people and not crazy people. I've already picked my teammates."

As soon as Juan finished five people found themselves on top of stone pillars just like Juan.

The only noticeable one among them was Sara White while the others had only taken Non-Combatants.

So while everyone down below started forming teams Juan motioned for them to come closer before stone bridges connected their pillars.

Only after they were on the same pillar did Juan speak.

"Do you wish to become my teammates?"

Sara turned around and started thinking silently about why Juan picked her while the other four were too shy to speak in the off chance they offend Juan.

"Speak your heart out. I won't question your decision no matter what it is."

Surprisingly the first to speak was a girl less then half their height who wore glasses.

"E-Excuse me, my name is Sasha. I-I don't think my talents will be of much help. I can't fight and I only have a mediocre aptitude for Alchemy."

Juan smiled brightly and spoke from the heart.

"I know and I think that's your greatest strength. I know it must have been tough and rightly so as even I struggle with Alcemy. I want to see how far your wings can carry you but… do you have the strength to make the jump?"

It was a truth both Ayesha and Thane knew as when it came to Alcemy Juan was utterly useless for it.

But Juan wanted to help someone like him who struggled to use Alcemy because he shared their frustrations.

"I want to help you all grow so I ask again. Will you join me? I can personally help you grow until you can confidently say your proud to be a student."

In total Juan chose a Alchemist, a Blacksmith and Two enchanters. Their overall tests were underwhelming to say the least.

But Juan didn't care about their tests but instead their Will and indomitable spirit.

All four of them nodded and smiled before Juan turned back to Sara who was deep in thought as she spoke out loud.

"Maybe he is stunned by my beautiful face? Maybe he is looking for a future bride in me after learning my family name? Maybe-"

"Stop thinking too deep before your brain melts. I chose you to join because I owe your Brother a favour."

Juan looked slightly backwards and was a student with white hair and blue eyes like Sara and gave a slight nod before seeing the student take his seat again.

Sara started blushing a little from embarrassment as she thought Juan was interested in her natural beauty but instead it was because Juan owed her Elder Brother.

"I-I'll join you."

Once Sara had accepted the team invite all of their badges turned black with white numbers instead of it being white with black numbers and all of them had matching numbers.

They were Team 27 out of the total 52 teams and while a handful of people wonder how the final test would be completed everyone already knew what team would be first place unconditionally.

But one person was filled with rage and stone cold killer eyes befitting of someone who holds the name Frost Queen.

Ayesha had developed and mastered increased sensory perception and awareness so even though they were hundreds of feet away Ayesha could hear everything going around Juan and was filled with rage for Sara's words.

But she was also happy to see Juan's kind heart again.

"That girl dares to try and steal my brother from my grasp! I'll burn her alive! But oh how I missed my little brother's compassion. But I won't forgive that woman if she lays a hand on my brother! Oh I'm practically blushing after seeing him extend a hand to someone struggling."

All of the student Council members and well as the faculty members groaned a little as Ayesha's love for her little brother was too much to be called normal. But no one was going to try and correct her attitude as she had a Mana Score of over 400 thousand which was just shy of the Principal's score of 550 thousand.

Even Thane pitted Juan as one of the reasons he didn't want to attend Dragon Stone was because of his older sister.

But Thane and everyone else couldn't give Ayesha anymore attention as the final test went underway.
