LUCIUS' POV.
Her laughter still echoed faintly in my head. The sound had been soft, playful and innocent but now everything inside me burned with confusion. She was still standing in front of me, as her smile fades slowly as if she sensed something was wrong with me.
And then, without thinking or maybe because I was thinking too much… I didn't realize that I had stepped closer. I could feel her breath, the faint scent of her perfume wrapping around me. My heart thudded so hard it was almost painful.
"Logan…" she began, but before she could finish, I did the one thing I never thought I would do.
I place my lips on her … I kissed her.
It was sudden, unexpected yet my lips pressed against hers, gentle at first, then deeper as if something inside me had just awakened. She froze instantly, and her hands started trembling slightly against my chest.
For a few seconds, she didn't move and didn't push me away. And I didn't even breathe.
