Chapter 15 - Chapter:15

Bell's wings trembled slightly as he landed in the Butterfree colony. The scent of blood still clung to his antennae—a dangerous marker that could attract more predators. He needed to warn the Chieftain immediately.

The Report

The elder Butterfree's wings stiffened when Bell described the attack. "A Spearow hunting alone?" His antennae twitched nervously. "That's impossible. Their flocks move together like living storm clouds."

The lieutenant hovering nearby gasped. "If they're scouting our territory..."

"Then the monsoon breeding grounds are at risk," the Chieftain finished grimly. His compound eyes reflected decades of harsh experience. "Recall all patrols. Triple the sentries. No one ventures beyond the sacred tree alone."

As the lieutenant fluttered off to relay orders, the Chieftain turned back to Bell. "You carry death on your wings now. That Spearow's flock will smell its blood on you." His voice dropped to a whisper. "They never forget a killer."

A Startling Revelation

When Bell demonstrated his new Psychic abilities, the ancient Butterfree's wings froze mid-beat. The air itself seemed to still as pink energy crackled around them.

"Impossible..." The Chieftain's voice shook. "This isn't just Telekinesis. This is the true Psychic technique—the same move that nearly wiped out our colony twenty monsoons ago."

Flashbacks of a towering Alakazam unleashing devastation played across his aged eyes. The psychic shockwaves had flattened entire groves, leaving Butterfree cocoons crushed beneath fallen trees.

The Warning

"Listen carefully," the Chieftain said, gripping Bell's forewing with unusual intensity. "This power drains more than energy—it consumes the user's lifeforce if overused." He pointed to a faint scar across his thorax. "I watched an Exeggutor wither to husk using this recklessly."

Bell's antennae drooped. The system notification had mentioned none of these dangers.

"Train in secret," the elder advised. "Master control before power. And never," his wings flared in emphasis, "let the Spearow flock see this technique. If their Fearow leader learns of it..."

The unspoken warning hung heavy between them. Some weapons drew more danger than protection.

Preparation for War

As dusk fell, the colony transformed into a fortress:

Veteran Butterfree mixed Sleep Powder with tree sap to create sticky bomb pods

Youngsters practiced emergency dive maneuvers between the branches

Sentries positioned themselves in overlapping fields of vision

Bell watched the preparations with growing unease. His human memories recognized these signs—this wasn't just defense. They were preparing for all-out war.

And he'd been the spark that lit the fuse.
