Hours passed like a slow, heavy dream. Outside the massive walls of the fortress, drones patrolled heavily. There footage was being relayed back for the residents in the base to watch.
Different cities were rocked with explosives and invasions of mutant beasts just as the watchers escaped earth. It seemed like many others were unwilling to leave so easily. They had to do one last act of revenge.
On the bubble of fortress four, the watchers were yet to make any move. They had their eyes glued to the base, patient, but at the same time twitching with frustration. For so long, they had been waiting for Sunshine and her team to make a move, but the fortress remained as still as a tomb. Residents had been told to stay indoors. The gates were sealed.
To make matters worse, the frequency they had been using to spy on the internal conversations had gone dead again. They were blind, deaf, and running out of patience and time.
