The monthly repairmen assembly took longer than usual to start. Rows of seats filled slowly as repairmen trickled into the hall, talking among themselves, complaining quietly, or simply waiting in bored silence.
The air buzzed with low conversations and the faint mechanical hum that always lingered in the building.
Sunshine sat in the back row, relaxed in her chair.
In her hands was a small pile of wild fruits Hrynn had sent her as a thank you for looking out for their family.
They were strange looking things_ small purple berries with golden specks, long green pods that snapped open with a crisp sound, and bright orange fruits shaped like tiny lanterns. Their smell alone was sweet enough to make anyone curious.
Sunshine popped one of the berries into her mouth and smiled.
"They're really good," she said. Never did she think that she would receive fruits from an insect! The world had truly become crazy.
