Chapter 2 - PROLOGUE

--

He didn't talk much.

Didn't laugh loud.

Didn't even notice when half the girls in school started breathing heavier just because he walked into a room.

But I noticed.

God, did I notice.

He had those quiet eyes—the kind that read too deep and blinked too slow.

Books in his hand. AirPods in. No drama, no attention.

The kind of boy who didn't belong in our school halls.

The kind of boy who should've come with a warning label.

Untouched. Brilliant. Off-limits.

I made him mine anyway.

Not with words.

With stares.

With silence.

With presence.

Any girl who tried to talk to him?

I was there.

Watching.

Blocking.

Owning.

He was 21. Innocent in the ways that mattered.

And I was 18, bored, and burning.

The first kiss happened too fast for him to stop.

And too slow for me to forget.

Then?

He disappeared.

Business school.

Military service.

No call. No text. Just gone.

But you don't just leave a girl like me.

You don't take my first obsession and pretend it didn't mean something.

Because now he's back.

And the boy I kissed?

He's not a boy anymore.

He's confident.

Colder.

Stronger.

And when he looks at me now…

I realize something terrifying.

He remembers everything.

And maybe...

I'm the one being hunted now.
