Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

{Ding}*

The ability system has been bonded to the host.

Greetings, host. I am the system granted to you by Rob.

My task is to provide you with one new ability every day. Due to the way time may flow differently across various worlds—and under the influence of external forces—the system operates on its own independent clock. This internal clock is unaffected by any external time distortion.

Every 24 hours, without fail, the host shall receive a new ability.

Also, note that the number of abilities the host receives daily reflects the host's current strength. As a normal human, the host will begin by receiving one ability per day. However, as the host grows stronger, the number of daily abilities shall increase.

The stronger the host becomes, the greater the chances of receiving truly overpowered abilities.

Cale looked at the notification that appeared the moment he stepped into the forest. His eyes narrowed as he read it, frowning slightly before letting out a slow sigh.

He made his way to the base of a tree and sat down, leaning back against the rough bark as he processed the message.

[Due to you not asking for a system, and this wish not being fulfilled exactly as requested, the system has been granted as an extra gift. However, it is temporary. Once it fulfills its purpose, the system will disappear. That said, the system is capable of answering certain questions.] The voice echoed emotionless in his mind.

"What would happen if I went to… let's say, Dragon Ball? Would I be able to use Ki?" Cale asked lightly, his tone calm, though curiosity lingered behind his words.

[The host's body is currently built around the power system of this world,] the system responded. [As such, the host cannot use Ki immediately. In order to develop Ki, the host must be exposed to a significant amount of it—enough for the body to gradually adapt and unlock that energy pathway.]

[A more accessible energy system would be one like the Naruto world, where chakra is simply the fusion of mental energy and stamina. The host already possesses both components. All that remains is acquiring the key needed to fuse them.]

Cale nodded lightly, silently processing the explanation, his mind already turning with possibilities.

'I guess I should think about traveling… I have three ways to gain instant power. The first is going to the Dragon Ball verse and making a wish to become the strongest. I could also go to One Piece and find a Devil Fruit, but Devil Fruits come with the drawback of being unable to swim. Still, a lot of people in One Piece use Haki. Could I gain the ability to use Haki if they use it on me enough?' Cale thought, letting each possibility run through his mind.

Yes, he was looking for instant strength. Power without the grind. No more trials, no more effort spent, just to end up betrayed.

He had worked hard enough for far too long. Years of sacrifice, unending responsibilities, and blind loyalty had brought him nothing but ruin.

Now, he had no interest in chasing strength the traditional way. No hunger for growth through pain or experience.

He had died. Stripped of everything. And now he was back. That alone was reason enough to change. He wanted to be selfish this time. Truly selfish. To put himself first and never again be used as a stepping stone for others. He would get stronger—but on his terms.

'System, if I remember correctly, Haki is something like the spirit being used as a weapon, so… shouldn't I be able to do that here and now?' he asked, recalling that small but important detail about how Haki functioned.

[That's true. You should be able to do it,] the system replied. [But first, you have to know how to control your spirit—something you can't just learn out of the blue.]

It made sense. Even with Instant Mastery, knowledge had to come from somewhere. Without a starting point, there was nothing to master.

Cale nodded, slightly frustrated but not surprised. He had no idea where to begin. No technique. No guide. Nothing to grasp onto.

If he had even the smallest clue, he could have mastered it in an instant. But without that key… it was just out of reach.

'Wait, I can just master Observation Haki… and through that, I could learn the other forms of Haki. There are also the Six Powers, but those can come later,' Cale thought, the idea locking into place.

With a clear plan forming, he bent down and picked up a smooth rock from the forest floor. His fingers tightened around it before he tossed it high into the air, eyes closing right after.

His goal was simple. He wanted to use Observation Haki to catch the rock before it hit him. If Luffy could awaken it by dodging blows while blindfolded, then Cale could try something similar.

Cale focused. Not on the sound, not on the weight of the rock—but on the air, the faint trace of movement, anything that would let him feel its presence.

He stood still, every muscle ready to move, waiting to feel something beyond what his normal senses could offer.

So, as the rock fell from the sky, aimed perfectly at the center of his head, Cale's hand moved in a blur—snapping up and catching the rock as if he'd been watching it the entire time.

But that wasn't thanks to Observation Haki. In truth, it was the result of something else entirely. The moment he picked up the rock, Cale had instinctively mastered the art of throwing it.

What most people don't realize is that when you throw something, your brain performs an incredible number of calculations behind the scenes. Angle, force, weight, wind resistance, gravity—your brain accounts for all of it in a fraction of a second.

Cale, with Instant Mastery, had unconsciously optimized every one of those factors. He had calculated the arc, the height, the speed, and the exact time it would descend. Without even trying, all of it had been recorded in the back of his mind.

So, even with his eyes closed, it was no different than watching the rock fall in slow motion.

'I guess this is the flaw with being able to master stuff,' Cale thought, realizing he had already mastered dozens of basic skills without any effort. The moment his body engaged with something, his mind did the rest—flawlessly.

It wasn't a real problem… just something he'd have to keep in mind.

With that, he closed his eyes and began to run forward. Reckless? Probably. But in his head, it made sense. If Observation Haki truly allowed one to sense the world, then he should be able to avoid trees and obstacles without seeing them.

At least, that's what he believed.

What Cale didn't know was that Observation Haki didn't function the way he imagined. It didn't grant vision of the world around you.

Instead, Observation Haki allowed one to sense the presence—the aura—of others. It picked up on emotions, killing intent, and spiritual pressure. It read people, not objects.

Unless someone or something had intent, hostility, movement, and focus, Observation Haki wouldn't detect it. Only at the peak, where one could glimpse into the future itself, did Observation Haki reach a point where the world became fully visible, where every sound, movement, and outcome within range could be sensed..

After tripping and slamming his head into a tree—and having a stick stab straight into his eye—Cale stumbled to the ground. Of course, he took no damage.

His body healed faster than the injuries could even settle in. The moment the pain registered, it was already gone.

With a sigh, Cale got back to his feet. He didn't even bother opening them again. Instead, he kept walking with his eyes still closed. And yet, it felt like he could see everything.

'Great, now I'm Daredevil,' he thought, a hint of amusement flickering beneath the sarcasm.

His senses were working in perfect harmony, painting a vivid image of the world around him. Every faint vibration beneath his feet, every shift in air pressure, every subtle smell and sound—it all fed into his mind, forming a full picture without the need for sight.

He didn't need his eyes anymore. Not when the rest of his body had already learned how to see in its own way.

Sighing, he sat down and began to think about what he should do. The first thing that came to mind was going to Bleach and taking Ichigo's opportunity. It made sense, and if Cale could intercept that path early, it could save him a lot of trouble.

But that would draw unwanted attention from Aizen… and Cale wasn't ready for that level of powerful beings looking into him.

Then he considered Jujutsu Kaisen—he could eat one of Sukuna's fingers. With his regeneration, the usual risk from it wouldn't apply to him. His body would heal through the corruption, no issue there.

But the real problem was control. He didn't want Sukuna being able to take over his body, even for a moment.

'Oh, I remember Observation Haki has to do with sensing people's emotions.' With that thought, Cale closed his mind, allowing all distractions to fall away. He focused on that one idea, hoping to tap into the deeper layer of perception that Observation Haki offered.

After all, he wasn't far from the nearby buildings—he had their layout, every wall and alley mapped out in his head. If he could concentrate enough, maybe—just maybe—he could sense the emotions of those inside.

But first, he shut off his five senses one by one. The world became a quiet, black void in his mind. And in that stillness, he focused. He locked in on a single presence—a young man nearby, likely scrolling through his phone without a care in the world.

Seconds passed.

Slowly, in the center of the darkness, a blue aura began to take shape. Soft, faint at first. With the appearance of that aura, others began to emerge, with different intensities. One after another, they flickered into view.

And then, those auras started to reshape themselves—into people, into trees, into objects around them.

At the same time, thoughts filled his mind. Yes—Haki allowed one to read the minds of others, among many other things… including the ability to see into the future.

And before Cale's mind, the future stretched out clearly, open and unobstructed. Up to thirty seconds ahead, he could sense everything. The movement of the wind, the reactions of others, subtle shifts that hadn't happened yet but were destined to.

But it didn't stop there. The next moment, Cale turned his focus inward. Now that he could sense his own aura, he concentrated on it, trying to bend it to his will.

It took time—longer than he expected—but eventually, something clicked. Intent, emotions, and the will to act… these things influenced the spirit. The more he felt, the more control he gained.

And once that control settled in, he guided his spirit down into his fist. It pulsed, condensed, and hardened—until an invisible armor formed, wrapping tight around his hand.

He lightly tapped his fist against a nearby tree, channeling his spirit into it through the point of contact. His Haki flowed inward, slipping past the tree's natural defenses.

Cale could feel it—how the energy tore through the inside, ignoring the bark and exterior toughness. The durability meant nothing. His Haki bypassed all of it, breaking the tree down on a level it wasn't built to withstand.

With a step back, he let the tree collapse, watching as it gave way and fell to the ground without resistance.

Then, without hesitation, he turned to another tree farther away. He threw a punch through the air, his Haki launching forward with it. It struck the distant tree with force, slamming into it hard.

When the dust cleared, the result was clear—a deep wound carved through the trunk, far more devastating than anything a rifle round could have done.

'I do remember Haki grows stronger through combat… I guess years of being a good person were, in their own way, a battle,' he thought with a light smile.

What he had just used was Armament Haki—the ability to coat one's spirit over the body like armor, using it to strike harder, defend better, and even launch it forward, or send it into a target to destroy it from the inside out.

'System, with my current strength, how many abilities would I get tomorrow?' he asked inwardly, curious to see how much he had grown.

As the thought passed, a sharp glint filled his eyes, and in the next moment, his spirit erupted outward.

It wasn't loud or flashy—just a sudden pulse of his willpower that spread through the forest. The wind kicked up, leaves scattered, and blades of grass swayed violently… but that was all.

In the next moment, he gathered his spirit into his fist, concentrating it. Crackling black lightning began to spark and dance across his knuckles.

This was Conqueror Haki. Unlike Armament Haki, which allowed one's spirit to be used as armor, Conqueror Haki was a force of domination. It wasn't about defense or reinforcement—it was about overwhelming everything in its path. A sheer clash of will.

It dramatically increased his attack power, far beyond what Armament Haki alone could offer. For example, when Luffy learned to channel Conqueror Haki into his attacks, he was able to injure Kaido while still in base form. Before that, even with Armament Haki mastered to its peak, his punches barely left a mark.

[The host would get three abilities.] The system's voice echoed clearly in his mind.

Cale smiled. He wasn't done yet—not even close. His next destination was already set in his mind: the Naruto world.

Why? Simple. If he could combine his spirit and stamina to form chakra, then how much stronger would his Haki become?

Now imagine it—Haki powered by chakra. Picture Haki layered with the chakra strength enhancement jutsu… or Haki infused with something like the Lightning Cloak.

"Open a gate to the Naruto verse… as for the time period… how about a day before Naruto's birth. I want to see if I can get the chance to get the 9 Tails' chakra," Cale said with a light smile.

He didn't really need to speak to use the skill, but he felt like it. The words made it feel more grounded, more real.

In response, a swirling gate opened in front of him, pulsing faintly with energy as it carved open a path between worlds.

"I will also change my name. Cale seemed too weak… I will go with Sinbad," he said, still smiling as he stepped forward. The portal swallowed him in an instant, and he stood within a forest.

Combining his Observation Haki with his sharpened five senses, he could see the world around him clearly—his awareness stretched far, giving him vision and perception up to ten miles in every direction.

And five miles up ahead of him was the Hidden Leaf Village. Sinbad stepped forward just as the gate behind him closed with a quiet hum, sealing off the path he had used to cross over. For now, there would be no going back—he wouldn't be able to open another gate for a full week.

But that wasn't all. This time, the flow between worlds had shifted. Now, the passage of time here and in his original world was linked. One week spent in the Naruto world would equal one week back on Earth.
