Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: The Blade of Ash

Aeris Blake

The echo of Morrigan's words haunted her all day.

"Beware the one who carries the blade of ash. He will come for you when the stars bleed."

Aeris stood by the edge of the Black Lake, hands tucked into her cloak sleeves. The wind bit at her cheeks, but she didn't feel the cold.

Not anymore.

Since entering the Obscura Sanctum, something inside her had changed. Her magic was quicker, hotter—less controlled. She'd lit a candle with a flick of her fingers that morning. No wand. No spell.

It wasn't accidental magic. It was blood magic.

And it scared her.

Footsteps crunched behind her.

"Fancy a dramatic lakeside brooding session without me?" Scorpius asked, sliding into view.

Aeris half-smiled. "Didn't peg you for the sarcastic type."

"You don't know me very well yet."

She looked at him. His pale hair whipped in the wind, and his grey eyes held something between curiosity and worry. Not for the first time, Aeris wondered why he always showed up when she needed someone—even before she knew she needed them.

"You believe I'm… her heir?" she asked.

"I saw what you did in the dueling chamber. Fire snakes don't just happen."

He paused.

"I also saw your mark."

Aeris tensed.

"I won't tell anyone," he added quickly. "But Aeris… you're being hunted."

Her heart stopped.

"How do you know?"

Scorpius held out a small silver coin. Etched into it was the symbol from her dream—a serpent curled around a flame.

"My father received a letter last night. It warned of your bloodline returning. Said the heir must be... extinguished."

Rose Weasley

In the library, Rose poured over a hidden book from the Restricted Section: Relics of the Founders.

"This is nuts," she muttered, flipping a page. "A sword forged from ash wood, enchanted with deathless fire, meant only for slaying heirs of 'corrupted magic.'"

She circled the words The Blade of Ash.

"Albus!" she hissed.

He looked up, startled. "What?"

She pointed. "The blade is real. And it was last seen in the possession of... the Blackthorn Order."

"The what?"

"A rogue group of magical purists. Believed in 'cleansing' magical bloodlines. They were obsessed with stopping the return of any forbidden legacy."

Albus leaned in.

"What if someone revived them?"

Rose blinked. "Then Aeris is in serious danger."

Unknown POV – The Bladebearer

He stood in the shadow of an abandoned tower, miles away from Hogwarts.

The blade hummed in his hand. Ash wood, bound by an obsidian hilt, with runes glowing faint green. It whispered to him—seek the serpent, spill the blood.

He pressed a finger to the blade. Smoke curled upward. He didn't flinch.

"Soon," he whispered. "The blood of Slytherin's daughter will feed you."

He looked up. In the sky above, stars shimmered faint red.

Aeris Blake – That Night

Aeris dreamt again.

But this time, she wasn't alone in the dream.

She stood in the Forbidden Forest, cloaked in shadow. Morrigan stood across from her—but beside her, a boy with silver eyes and the Blade of Ash in hand.

"The stars bleed," Morrigan whispered.

The boy raised the blade.

Aeris screamed.

And woke—gasping.

Scorpius Malfoy

Scorpius stared at the night sky from the Astronomy Tower. He saw it before anyone else.

A faint red glow in the constellation above the lake.

"The stars are bleeding."

He turned and ran.

Rose & Albus

"Aeris is the key to the Obscura," Rose said as they snuck through the third-floor corridor. "And the Obscura is waking up."

"So is the thing that guards it," Albus muttered.

They paused. Something shifted nearby. A flicker of movement in the shadows.

"I'll go check it out," Albus said.

"Be careful," Rose warned.

Aeris Blake

She stood before the Mirror of Erised.

But it showed her something strange—not a desire.

It showed Morrigan standing beside her. And behind her… the castle of Hogwarts burning.

Then the glass cracked.

Behind her, a shadow moved.

She spun around.

The Bladebearer stepped forward, hood down, silver eyes gleaming.

"You carry a curse, heir," he said.

Aeris reached for her wand.

Too late.

He raised the blade—green fire flashing.

Scorpius crashed into the room just in time, slamming into the attacker.

"Run!" he shouted.

Aeris bolted.

Spells flew.

Final Scene – Forbidden Forest

They didn't stop running until they reached the forest.

"What was that?" Aeris gasped.

Scorpius clutched his arm. "Someone who wants you dead. And he's not working alone."

They looked up.

The stars were no longer red.

But something worse loomed above them—clouds shaped like serpents, swirling over Hogwarts.
