Chapter 14 - Chapter 14 : A Cultivation Waste to a Legendary Awakening

The sun had barely moved past noon when Shaurya gathered his disciples under the grand tree that stood at the heart of the Sanatan Flame Sect.

He stood tall, hands behind his back, eyes scanning the curious faces before him. "So, I hope you all heard what that guy said earlier," he began, his voice steady and sharp. "And if you didn't, then be sure to get your ears checked."

A ripple of laughter moved through the crowd. Then, with a pause, Shaurya looked at each disciple with careful thought.

"I have to select three disciples for the Fifty Cities Disciple Competition," he continued. "Let's see... whom should I choose?"

He rubbed his chin for a moment, then pointed. "Wang Tian, Muo Qian, and Luo Chen. I choose you three. Be ready. We're leaving now."

The three nodded in unison, a spark of excitement in their eyes.

Moments later, Shaurya walked toward Elder Wu, his expression respectful.

"Elder, I'm heading out for the competition," he said. "Please take care of the sect in my absence. And all of you disciples, don't be discouraged. You'll get your chance. But before that—train hard. Understood?"

"Yes, Sect Master!" all the disciples shouted together, bowing deeply.

With his chosen disciples, Shaurya descended the stone steps that curved down the mountain, heading toward the city below. As the green canopy passed overhead, Shaurya glanced at the system interface. A red alert blinked.

[Mission: Recruit 100 Disciples – Time Left: 21 hours]

Shaurya sighed quietly. "Only two more disciples left to recruit... but where will I find them?"

He turned to look at Wang Tian, who was deeply engrossed in reading a technique manual and explaining it animatedly to Muo Qian.

"They're progressing fast," Shaurya muttered to himself.

System: "Someone's getting jealous. Single host in two lifetimes."

Shaurya chuckled bitterly inside. "Come on, system. Not fair."

He opened the system shop.

[Dharma Points: 60]

Shaurya's eyes sparkled. "Let's see what I can get."

His gaze landed on a glowing item.

Technique – Immortal Fire (Strongest fire in the world): 50 Dharma Points

Shaurya's jaw dropped. "Immortal fire? And it doesn't even need spiritual energy?! I want this!"

System: "Congratulations, Host, for purchasing Immortal Fire. -50 Dharma Points deducted."

A sudden warmth coursed through Shaurya's arm as a blue flame lit on his palm. It shimmered in the air like liquid sapphire. He smiled, awestruck.

Moments later, they arrived at the city gates. The streets buzzed with people.

Luo Chen glanced around. "Is this city always so crowded?"

Shaurya nodded. "Not always. It's because of the competition. Let's see if we can find a disciple here. Let's go."

The city guards stood alert, checking everyone's identity. Shaurya walked forward and pulled out a badge—the symbol of honor given by the City Lord. The guards bowed slightly and let them pass without question.

Inside the city, Shaurya popped open a bowl of sweets and began munching, casually strolling through the vibrant streets. He paused at various stalls, taking in the scents and sounds. Suddenly—

"Master, look there!" Wang Tian pointed.

Shaurya turned. Not far ahead, a group of girls were bullying an injured girl in tattered robes. The leader of the group, with her nose in the air, slapped the injured girl harshly.

"You pathetic weakling! You dare ruin my mood? Because of you, my ice cream got spoiled!" she snapped.

The injured girl bowed, trembling. "Young miss, I'm very sorry. I didn't do it on purpose..."

Another slap.

"You think you can do anything on purpose?!" The bully smirked. "I, Wei Lia, daughter of Crimson Beast Sect's leader, now kick you out of the sect."

She motioned, and her subordinate stepped forward, yanked the sect badge from the girl's robes, and broke it in two.

"Now," Wei Lia ordered, "break her bones and destroy her cultivation."

The subordinates approached menacingly.

Wei Lia turned at walk towards her carriage

Suddenly—CRASH! The Girl Going to attack went flying into The carriage Wie Lia Going to sit, drawing gasps from bystanders.

Everyone turned in shock. Standing in a heroic pose was Luo Chen, fist clenched, then he turend to the injured girl.

"Don't worry, girl. You're safe now," he said.

The injured girl looked up, cheeks turning red. She blushed at the sight of Luo Chen's angelic presence.

Wei Lia snapped, "Who are you? Why are you interfering?!"

Before Luo Chen could speak, Shaurya stepped forward, calm, hands behind his head.

"He's helping her. Don't you understand? Or do you lack the brain to?"

Wei Lia trembled in rage.

The injured girl whispered, "Please, don't mess with her for me... she's the daughter of Crimson Beast sect's sect leader."

Shaurya laughed. "Oh really? And who cares?"

Muo Qian gently helped the girl stand. "Girl, you're talking to the leader of the strongest sect in this city—Sanatan Flame Sect. He's the strongest person here."

The girl's eyes widened. Wei Lia froze in place, lips trembling.

Yet she mocked again. "Even if you're a sect leader, don't think I'm scared. My sect is stronger than yours."

Shaurya raised an eyebrow. "Is that so?"

Wang Tian stepped forward, drawing his sword, but Shaurya held him back.

"Don't kill her here. Defeat her in the competition."

Wei Lia laughed mockingly. "Are you scared?"

Shaurya lowered his head, gripping Wang Tian's shoulder. Then he lifted his face, a devilish smile playing across his lips.

Wang Tian shivered. "Master, didn't you say we'll take her down in the competition?"

Shaurya grinned. "That applied to you, not me."

Muo Qian whispered, "That foolish girl just challenged her own death. She doesn't know who she's dealing with."

Wang Tian sat nearby, snacking on grapes.

Wei Lia sneered. "You think you can kill me? Attack him!"

Eight subordinates lunged at Shaurya—but in the blink of an eye, they were all beheaded. Blood sprayed. Shaurya stood with sword in hand, expression stone cold.

He glanced at Wei Lia. "I can't kill you here... but for them? That's a different story."

Wei Lia Sacred Trembling, then shaurya said in cold tone, get out.

She ran away to fastly while crying in fear.

He turned to the injured girl, handed her a healing pill. "What's your name?"

She bowed. "Su Quan. I'm an ex-disciple of Crimson Beast Sect."

Shaurya nodded. "Forget your sect. Join mine."

She looked stunned. "I... I'm not good at cultivation."

Shaurya smiled. "That's my worry. Not yours. After joining my sect, you won't just be good—you'll be too good."

She nodded, bowing deeply. "Master!"

He handed her a form. She filled it out.
