I returned to the classroom, and our first class began. When the bell rang, signaling it was time for lunch, I arranged my notes and textbooks in my bag and rose to my feet. That was when I caught him looking—Celeb—but he immediately looked away after I noticed.
I'm sitting at Linnea's desk. Cindy, Ava, and the rest were quite displeased when they saw me take the desk, and when I tried to ask them the reason for their disapproval, they didn't say much.
Cindy and Ava came over to me.
"Let's go to the cafeteria," Cindy said.
"What's the menu for today?" Ava asked.
"I heard burgers are included."
"Burgers?" Ava gasped.
"Do you like burgers?" Cindy looked at me.
"I do. I love them."
"Niceeee. Burgers and drinks."
"Are you bringing your bag and books to the cafeteria? You can drop them at your locker," Ava told me.
"No, I'm more comfortable bringing them with me," I replied.
"What? You mean you'll take them everywhere?" Cindy gasped.
"I'm not comfortable dropping my stuff."
