"I... There's someone at the door," I murmured as he continued staring at me.
"I'll get it." I moved to the door, opened it, and found Mom standing there.
"I was searching everywhere for you," she said as she came into the office. Beta Benjamin immediately returned to his position.
"What were you two discussing? It seemed like you were having a conversation."
"We were," Beta Benjamin answered before I could. "Your niece was updating me on Madison's health."
"Oh, is she okay, dear?"
"She is."
"And the baby?"
"It's intact."
"Alright, I need to borrow my niece; there are some things I need to discuss with her." Mom took my hand.
"Alright, you're free," he replied.
Mom led me out of the office and took me straight to a room downstairs.
"What were you doing in his office?" she asked, examining me.
"I was updating him on Madison's health. What else?" I sighed and walked to the bed.
