Halfway through the meal, Daniel received an urgent call from the ER and had to leave. After I finished eating, I cleaned up and walked to the elevator. The nurses had told me that Madison's checkup could last 40 minutes to an hour; it's already been more than thirty minutes. I hope she's done—I don't want to wait around for her.
I got into the elevator, and just as the doors were about to close, the two suspicious men rushed in and stood beside me—one on my left and the other on my right.
I huffed. What are they trying to do? They don't know my real identity, so I'm certain they won't attack or abduct me, but I'm truly curious about their reasons for stalking me. Will they speak to me?
But what if they try to hurt me? I need to be smart about this. I can't be one hundred percent certain they won't try anything stupid.
