Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: A Paranoid Dream

Dark.

It was too dark.

The only thing that Chaira can see much clearly in this darkness was her glowing white skin and luscious dark curly hair bouncing back and forth by the chilly wind.

Clang!

Chaira turned her head quickly, looking over at the source of the sound where something fell.

"Hello…?" she tentatively called out, stepping closer to where the noise is, squinting her eyes to hopefully see something in this darkness when she froze, not because she saw something, but because she felt and heard something.

And it was something awfully close to her.

"Βασίλισσά μου... Είσαι τόσο όμορφο" Chaira skin hair stood on end as she heard a man talking near her ears, not quite understanding what this guy meant, she flinched when she felt something very cold touching her nape and arm.

She turned her head at her back quickly, but still not seeing anything, except for the erratic and mad murmurs of the man speaking in a language she can't understand.

"Βασίλισσά μου… παρακαλώ μείνετε" the cold touch at her nape suddenly felt like being bitten as the cold thing touching her arm hurt so much as if her skin was being pierced by something long and sharp, Chaira thought that It might be seeping blood out, "Παρακαλώ μείνετε... Βασίλισσά μου. Είμαι καλός. Υπόσχομαι"

"Παρακαλώ..."

"Hmm…" Chaira painfully groaned, her sleeping face was sweaty and wet with tears. When she started humming in sobbing tone, a loud knock from her room made her eyes twitch.

Chaira slowly opened her eyes, looking at the ceiling with blurry gaze, she blinked and sat down on the bed, finally finding out that there were tears streaming down to her cheeks. Her face immediately turned black.

Why is she crying?

"I think she is still sleeping," Yena slowly said to Sean who frowned.

It's been a long time already since they were promised that they will be going shopping clothes for them at this time. That woman is not lying to them, right?

Before they could think more clearly if they are being deceived and might be given to someone after they fully let their guard down, the door opened, revealing Chaira on her pajama and face sweaty, eyes red, as if she was just crying a while ago.

The two children were immediately stunned. Right, before they know the woman was abandoned, she was wearing exceptionally clean clothes, so maybe, she was just freshly abandoned by her parents.

It's not confusing to cry secretly at all. Even if the woman wanting to adopt them is tough on the outside, maybe she is in real pain inside.

The gazes of the two children instantly become sympathetic, that Chaira who was in her sleepy state and trying hard to recall of the dream that made her cry, shifted uncomfortably after seeing the two siblings' eyes.

Not knowing that she was misunderstood, she lazily opened.

"What are you two up to again?" Chaira asked, looking at the dark sky outside the villa window she just bought with the money she had just won from the instant lottery a while ago.

Of course, the process of getting it was using some cheats, cheats she treated as black golden.

"…"

The kids who was still angry after feeling if they were deceived was sympathetically looking at Chaira red eyes at this time, the two of them both shook their heads after being asked, "You said we are going to shop for clothes today, but we can do it tomorrow, it's already so late after all. You can just rest first," the little boy, despite his age, articulately said what he wanted to say clearly that Chaira who was confused in the first place after being woken up was even more confused after hearing what Sean said.

"Yeah, it's already so late? What made you think that shopping at this time is…?" Chaira shut up after seeing the two little head raising their head higher to look at her, eyes widening at every word coming out from her mouth.

She coughed lightly, clearing her throat, "I already slept, did you sleep already?" Yena and Sean both nodded their head.

"Okay, let's go shopping then." She did not close the door as she went to rummage on her drawers, finally seeing her wallet and phone, she went to grab it and went outside, seeing the two siblings dressed tightly and obediently standing still outside of her room.

Looking over at Yena and Sean clothes, then to her clothes, she smiled embarrassingly at the two when they blinked at her. "We are going to shop for clothes and food after all, it be a waste of time if I go and wear something else again" Chaira shrugged off, innocently looking back at the two little kids that helplessly blinked their eyes at her.

A cold breeze hit her body just after she and the two kids came out, making her shiver and wondering.

This kind of coldness was too familiar, coupled with the fact that it's still dark, it made Chaira even more confused.

"It's seemed you need to change clothes now that you are shivering," Yena crossed her arm as she said while pouting her mouth. It was too late for her to realize that she had done such a thing to the woman that was about to adopt them tomorrow.

Yena slowly put down her crossed arms and was about to subconsciously apologize when Chaira once again shrug, smiling, "It's okay, I just felt something odd that's why I shivered. I'm certainly not that cold," Chaira embarrassingly explained, Sean only looked at her silently while Yena become cheerful again.

"If that's what you say so," Yena then tentatively took the initiative to hold Chaira hand, looking closely at Chaira expression, waiting to see if there is any reluctance on her face so she can immediately let go of Chaira hand, but Chaira only tightened her hold on Yena hand, then reaching out to hold Sean hand.

Chaira laughed seeing that there was no expression on Sean little face, "Why is your face like that?"

Sean copied his little sister pouting face a while ago as he shook his head, "I just don't feel well."

"Why? Why are you not feeling well?" Chaira immediately kneels down, checking on Sean worriedly.

Sean was instantly embarrassed realizing that he was given too much attention that he can't manage at all, but he still answered after seeing the worry in their soon to be adopted mom eyes, whispering while avoiding Chaira worried gaze, "I feel someone gaze."

Chaira immediately looked over at the side where she felt a burning gaze for a moment before it then disappeared.

She frowned, standing up and making her way towards the dark corner of where she felt someone might be hiding, but stopped when she felt something tugging at her pajama, "There's no one there. Are we still going shopping?" Yena confusedly asked.

Chaira stared more harder at the dark corner with cold gaze before she smiled and nodded her head after sensing that the oddly familiar gaze disappeared, "Let's go"

Chaira and the two kids finally left, leaving the smoke that were hiding itself ridiculously hard from Chaira cold gaze, to finally heave a sigh of relief.

Another being wearing a hoodie, the man that were following Chaira all this time just after she reborn popped out from a smoke and appeared in the dark corner too, looking over at the smoke that were turning red, blue then to gray once again.

"Where?" his cold and hoarse voice sounded shortly along with his short words, but it made the smoke to once again change the color of its body.

Besides the subconscious fear it felt towards this demon, it was somewhat surprised after realizing that this man in front of it was using the language they---the low-level spirit and the so-called humans, can understand. Even though, the words uttered were still too short.

The man wearing a hoodie turned its head, but the smoke trembled as if being electrified, "They are going shopping---" before the smoke could even finish its sentence, the hoodie man disappeared in a flash, "…my lord," the smoke still continued to say.
