Lila stare practically pierced at them especially at Cara's smile and her eyes narrowed,she didn't understand what was happening,how the same people who had tried to kill had the guts to show up and act like everything was fine.
"Alive?" Lila didn't know when she blurted it out,"You...Are you surprised to see me alive after what you both did to me?"
Cara looked surprised for a few seconds and her smile wiped off her face,she blinked uncertainty but she regained her composure quickly.
"Oh, Lisa,you have always been my dramatic little sister, haven't you?"She gave a small laugh,"We all are happy to know that you're alive and well,after you get discharged, you'll come back home ,to New York "
Lisa?...home?New York?
Lila's mind was going round in scattered circles, she seemed not to understand what was happening, where they were trying to play some kind of trick on her?
Her name was Lila and they all lived in Greenwoods Park not this New York whatever,she looked around,the whole place was strange and an unfamiliar world.
What was happening? Lila stretched out her hand before her and stared down at her pale skin,her heart jammed madly against the walls of her chest.
This wasn't who she was, she seemed to be in an entirely different body that was making her uncomfortable, she noticed that she wasn't this skinny ... everything about her was changed.
Matthew who had been looking at her as if she was going crazy spoke up,his voice was a mixture of confusion and curiosity.
"Lisa,are you okay?...Anyways,we are glad you are recovering so fast,we —your sister and I were worried sick about you" He said and then shoved his hands into his trousers pocket," We were so worried"
Lila looked up at him, yes, he was definitely the one, Richard, her sister Olivia's husband...what was happening? She knew that he never liked her and they never spoke so why was he acting so nice and looking so different?
"Did you just talk to me? You hated me...you are the ones who killed me,you both betrayed me and lured me to my death"Lila accused,her voice cold and mirthless.
Silence fell in the room, a confused silence as they all stared at themselves in surprise, Lila was breathing hard now as she stared at the two of them.
"Lisa"Cara called in a warning yet confused tone.
The nurse, Patricia or whatever she had said her name was Intervened,her voice was gentle and kind.
"Let's all calm down,I think she is still recovering. She must have gotten so shocked when she had the accident and it rushed to her head"She explained, placing her hand on Lila's shoulder,"She is still recovering,this might just be... hallucinations but she'd be fine. Above all, she needs rest, I'd get the doctor to examine her later on"
Lila flung her hand from her shoulder angrily, what was she even saying? Lila was damned sure that she wasn't hallucinating, she was perfectly fine.
Olivia and Richard had killed her in the woods,she saw their cold eyes when they stared down at her body, it was just hours if not minutes ago so what was all this?
Lila wasn't ready to be silent,she looked back at Cara and Matthew.
"You both think you can just walk here and pretend that everything is fine,did you think I wouldn't know it was the two of you last night?" Lila asked
"Last night?" Cara asked, she wanted to laugh but she was just too confused to do so,"Last night you were in a freaking comaso what's all this display about?"
Lila's face paled and it was her turn to look confused, something was not right,her expression turned calculating as she looked down.
"I was in a coma?"She asked silently,"What...what year is this?"
Matthew scoffed,he looked amused as he bit his lip while Cara gave her a 'are you serious ' look.
"This is 2025, honey. How bad did you hit your head? Don't tell me you lost your memory or anything because—"Cara was saying.
"No...no..no,no,no" Lila said and made to get up to her feet but the nurse held her back.
It was supposed to be 2013, last night was the night where she was supposed to find her mate in the mating festival which she had trained and waited for.
Suddenly, she felt the images come sweeping into her head, the memories of that night,the memories of her in Greenwood's pack. Her vision blurred and she sat back on the bed and then her memories of her past life started to swirl.
"....Lila, Elizabeth it's time for your training"The gamma shouted.
"I'm coming ma'am Rosalyn!" She yelled back as she stared at her wolf in the oval mirror, a big white wolf stared back at her…
And then another shady memory clashed right into her head…
"You have a lot to learn" Nathan,her instructor was saying to her,"I believe you will be so well"
"You think so?"She asked as she stared up at him.
His pale blue eyes shine with warmth,"Of course…"
"Lisa... Lisa ?"
The nurse's voice sneaked into her head and she snapped out of her memories,her head shot up to look at her.
"Are you okay?"She asked.
Lila swallowed and then nodded uncertainty,"I don't know... I'm feeling a bit dizzy"
Then a knock sounded on the door and they all looked to the door. Lila sighed tiredly and placed her face in her palm as someone entered the room. A soft thud of footsteps on the floorboard lifted her face from her palm.
"I came as soon as possible,"A silky male voice said.
Lila recognized that voice,she looked up slowly to a tall man in an expensive suit, his long hair kissing at the sides of his face.
Lila couldn't breathe in that second…
