Chapter 186 - 186: Tsunade Shows Up.

Boom!

A thunderous explosion echoed across the battlefield. The ground split violently as dust surged into the air. With the last of her momentum, Mitokado Homura's body shot forward, skidding across the terrain and carving a deep trench into the earth.

He crashed down in the exact direction where the clan leaders—Nara Shikaku among them—were gathered.

Outside the Village, in the Forest near Konoha—

Shikaku and the other clan leaders stood in grim silence, their eyes fixed on the unconscious forms of Namikaze Minato and Shimura Danzo.

"…Looks like it's over," Shikaku murmured, his tone heavy with restrained emotion. One question nagged at his thoughts: If this was revenge for the extermination of the Senju clan… why didn't he kill Danzo and the others?

But he dared not speak that aloud. Despite their brutal methods, they were all still part of Konoha.

Just then, the sound of something—or someone—being dragged across the earth reached their ears. Another body plowed through the forest floor like a fallen meteor.

"Another one… That must be Homura-sama," someone muttered.

Having only just finished laying Mitokado Homura and the others next to Danzo, the clan heads could hardly recover before a new figure emerged—this time unmistakably, Utatane Koharu.

The four elder figures lay lined up in a row. Apart from Minato, who received immediate treatment, the others were ignored. No one dared to even approach them.

It was clear that Ayanami Kaito's intent was to eliminate the high-ranking remnants of the Hokage's faction. Saving Minato was one thing—he had earned some measure of respect—but saving the rest could risk implicating one's own family.

While uneasy thoughts swirled, Kaito's figure vanished once more from the battlefield.

With two massive Rasengans, he sent Gamabunta and Gamaken crashing back to Mount Myoboku. Already gravely injured, the toads hadn't stood a chance against his sudden onslaught.

Now, only Sarutobi Hiruzen and his student Jiraiya remained.

The two war-hardened shinobi faced each other, expressions grim, their chakra heavily depleted. Years of battle experience told them the outcome was inevitable—they would lose.

Hiruzen gritted his teeth in bitter regret. If I had known the Senju clan still harbored someone like this, I would never have let Danzo lay a finger on their last descendant.

But it was too late now.

Boom!

A fresh explosion erupted across the distance.

Hiruzen's eyes widened. Jiraiya had disappeared, his presence completely erased from the field. And there stood Kaito, calm and silent.

"Did… Jiraiya lose too?" Hiruzen whispered to himself.

"I guess I have no choice but to use that technique," he thought darkly.

"Trying to use the Reaper Death Seal, are you?" Kaito asked with a sneer.

"You—! How do you know?" Hiruzen blurted out.

"Hah. You think you can catch me while surrounded by these thunder beasts? Or that your speed can surpass mine?" Kaito's cold grin widened.

Hiruzen said nothing. He knew the truth—he couldn't touch Kaito. The ambush he had planned was meaningless now. Not only had Kaito seen through his move, he even knew the secrets of such a forbidden technique.

"Don't bother. I—"

Before Kaito could finish, a massive soundwave blasted across the field, laced with chakra strong enough to shake the air itself. The voice was unmistakable, and it echoed across all of Konoha.

"Kaito! Stop this! I won't forgive you if you go any further!"

"…Tch."

That voice belonged to none other than Tsunade.

Kaito's expression twisted in irritation. Why is this woman always getting in my way?

Upon hearing Tsunade's voice, Sarutobi Hiruzen and the clan leaders all broke into visible relief.

"Lady Tsunade! She's here!" Shikaku exclaimed. "Konoha is saved!"

He turned quickly to rally the others, but before they could move, the ground trembled.

A shockwave swept through the trees.

Tsunade was advancing with terrifying speed—smashing trees and crushing earth underfoot with every step like a rampaging force of nature. Wherever she passed, not even weeds were spared.

Moments later, her figure emerged before them. Her breathing was heavy, her clothes disheveled, and the Yin Seal on her forehead was completely gone. She had clearly traveled a long distance in record time.

"Lady Tsunade, you're finally here!" Shikaku rushed up to her.

"Tch—Shikaku? You guys aren't dead?" Tsunade snapped, frowning.

Black lines formed across Shikaku's face. Dead? Really? But he knew better than to talk back. Especially now.

Shikaku forced a smile. "Tsunade-sama, we're fine. Kaito didn't target us. He only went after the four clans supporting the Third Hokage's regime."

Tsunade exhaled in relief. Her eyes quickly scanned the battlefield—Jiraiya unconscious nearby, the elders incapacitated.

With a smirk, she muttered, "Never thought I'd see Jiraiya like this."

Jiraiya groaned, pale and barely conscious. "Quit cracking jokes. Save Hiruzen-sensei. You're the only one he might actually listen to."

"I'm going," she said, serious now. In a flash, she vanished.

As she arrived at the village gates, a terrifying sight greeted her. The entirety of Konoha was blanketed in thunderclouds. Bolts of lightning crackled everywhere, consuming buildings, trees—everything but Hokage Rock in the distance.

The overwhelming energy was enough to make even Tsunade hesitate.

"Just what the hell did you do to this place?" she shouted, stepping forward. "Who said you could turn Konoha into a battlefield!?"

"I've been secluded too long. Needed some fresh air and exercise," Kaito replied with a straight face.

"Exercise?!" Tsunade's voice cracked with fury. "You call this exercise?!"

"Don't exaggerate," he said, waving a hand. "All I did was teach them the price of erasing the Senju clan from history."

Tsunade clenched her fists. "Why the hell am I even here?! Aren't I supposed to be stationed near the old Uzushiogakure ruins?"
